Niabi squeezed the bow tight in her hand. It was her first time actually using it after what had happened the night of her trial. It felt awkward still, like it didn't belong and it was someone else's hand holding it, but she knew that this was what needed to be done. "Thank you for training with me Sister. I'm sure you have other things you could be doing right now."
She nodded her head to her mentor as a signal of the start of the fight before launching the first arrow.

Briella smiled. Ilyra also uses a bow, and she remembered the look on Niabi's face as one that Ilyra had from time to time. She knew now why she was asked to train with Niabi, the girl wasn't as comfortable holding the bow as she should be. Hopefully after this she would feel at least a little better with her bow.
"It is not a problem sister, I take great pleasure in being able to assist those who are still getting the hang of things. There is no where else I rather be than here with you." she said with a soft smile. Hopefully the words she used to reassure her daughter would work with this sister as well.
She nodded along with Niabi and when the first arrow struck her she smiled, yes it hurt but it was good hurt. Niabi was much better with the bow that Briella had first assumed. "Good shot, lots of power behind it." she complimented before going towards the younger girl with her swords.

Niabi was a little surprised when her arrow actually struck. Though it all happened so fast, her astonishment got the better of her and Briella had already begun to swing out with her spear. She was fast, especially for someone carrying something as heavy as a spear.
Niabi dodged to the right, ducking out of the way, but it wasn't enough and she tumbled to the floor. With a semi-roll, she was back on her feet and preparing for the next attack. "I can already see I have a long way to go."

Briella watched Niabi's every move. Niabi was hard on herself, but that wasn't always a hard thing. Sometimes one needed to be a little harder on themselves than normal. After all if you went around thinking you were amazing and couldn't get better than you would never get better.
"We all have a long way to go. The fact that you know this just means you are already one step ahead of most." Briella said with a nod. She hadn't been able to miss the full attack, but the way she got up from her fall was something that wasn't learned but just in you. Briella went for another attack once she saw that Niabi was ready for it.

Niabi perked just slightly at the praise from Briella. "Thank you Sister." She managed to get out before she was caught by the dual blades coming toward her. She managed to keep her eyes on one hand, but before she knew it she felt the pain of the bite of Briella's blades. She shook her head and furrowed her brows, she would need to concentrate and not be so distracted by silly things if she was to be able to protect herself anytime soon.
She launched another arrow, this one with force behind it. If she were to prove herself, now would be the time to get started.

"I give praise where it is deserved." she said with a smile. This was good, for her as well as Niabi. Watching the younger sister fight just made her feel that much more comfortable with the fate of her race. After all, it was the younger sisters that were the future.
She saw the arrow coming towards her, but it was already to late by that time and the arrow pierced her. It was strong, and it hurt more than Briella would have willingly admitted. She smiled back at Niabi and went back towards her with the blades.

Niabi wasn't expecting her opponent to charge through her arrow the way that she had. Before she could manage to get out of the way, the blades were already against her skin. She cried out from the blow and clenched her eyes shut. She had never experienced any kind of pain like this before. Even though it was a practice match and no real damage was to be done, this was more for her than she would have liked.
But she had made a promise to herself. She would do this and she would get stronger. She launched another arrow at Briella.

She knew that practice made perfect, but she still didn't like hurting the younger girl. "Are you okay?" she asked curiosity. If Niabi wanted to stop she would be more than willing to do so. Hopefully she wasn't going to hard on the girl, she wanted Niabi to actually learn something.
She moved towards Niabi, trying to hold back some this time.

Niabi shook her head, still fairly winded. Hopefully Briella knew that it was a sign to keep going.
She tried to move out of the way of the next attack, but even though it looked like Briella was holding back, Niabi was too weak and winded to do anything about it. She held up a hand and smiled to her Sister. "I... think I have to call it quits." She put her hands on her knees and took deep breaths. "Thank you for helping me, Sister."
