I like your idea for Prisoner of war. But I do wish it was more like Gladiator.
For example if you don't get the reference.
A father dies because the son killed him. The man who was supposed to become the heir to the throne is taken away and supposedly they try to kill him. But he kills the soldiers first. Running home to find his family is dead he is taken into slavery.
What I'm getting as with this is that it would make more sense if say a Heir to the throne became a threat and was supposedly taken out to be killed but never was killed. When she was discovered by the soldiers again she was taken into slavery. But she's not the typical princess or something. She actually becomes a slave guard. Or something like that. I am creative so things like this can change. Depends on your ideas. But anyway he decides to try to enslave her as a body guard. or something like that so that the other guards won't try to do things to her.
razz I am sorry if this is in depth but you can go further with it definitely.
thats a base for a new idea, but if your going a historical route females were not allowed to be much, but if you want to take a more fantasy route there we can bend the rules a bit more
Depending on if the woman was given more leeway from the father or the person that is granting the leadership. Sometimes that could happen but you're right it was very rare for Queens to take the throne.
But definitely for fantasy purposes
