Age was a strange topic for Anemone. Her real birthday was hidden in the mist of her mind with the rest of the information regarding her previous life as Theodora. Conflicting knowledge of her past life only made matters worse with an inconsistent presense over timelines. Presently no one knew how old she was and no one had thought to ask before the purification process. Of course, there were a lot of other things no one thought to ask or figure out before that happened.

Anemone didn't really know.

********* and Iris knew. They didn't know the answers to the questions she sought at times but they knew what had happened during the events of that night. It didn't help Anemone though. It all meant that her real age was a mystery, and that people could only really take a guess at it. Judging from her height, she was probably at least 16. Maybe she was younger. Maybe she had a growth spurt. It didn't really help, and was there a way to really narrow it down? Body types were not a consistent thing. You couldn't look at someone and know immediately how old they were by looking at them. You could guess, and you could be way off.

She could be young, or she could be old, but it was a mystery to her. What Anemone did know was that her life here was becoming longer. She was over a year old now, and to someone without memories to fill up the years of her life, it felt like a really long time. It felt like she was with ********* and Ellie forever. It felt like she was with the Asteroids forever. Even Thetis, the newest member, was around for what felt like forever. She never understood that cat but she accepted Iris' guardian cat's existence.

Anemone did know that she didn't want things to change. She wanted to grow another year with these people. She wanted 2015 to roll around and for ********* and Ellie to still be there with her. She didn't want to wake up, old and alone. She didn't want to be turning two and realize that everyone she knew was gone. She didn't know what she would do with *********, or without her best friend Ellie.

Who would she cuddle?

Who would she kill monsters with?

As the clock in the kitchen ticked, Anemone felt increasingly tired. Was she getting old? How long had she been sitting here? Where was Ellie? Where was *********? She was bored, and she wanted to do something. The time seemed to slow down around her and she could hear herself breathe. Was this what it was like to get old? Getting old was tough. She really hoped she didn't turn two too soon.
