Moments before the Asylum Championship match was scheduled to begin, a live video feed began to play on the titantron, as well as on every television monitor in the backstage area and locker rooms, showing the Anonymous CEO of WWE:E in his office.

"Ahem, pardon the interruption of tonight's festivities, but I have an announcement that affects not only the Superstars and Sirens of WWE:E, but the fans, as well. As some of you may already be aware, World Wrestling Entertainment: Evolution has recently undergone a streamlining of our roster. The Board of Directors has unanimously agreed that further streamlining is necessary to provide a more competitive roster and an overall better experience for our fans. Therefore, this July at our next Special Event, Heatwave, the Remnant Champion will face the Asylum Champion one-on-one in a TITLE UNIFICATION MATCH.

With one less championship available to compete for at the mid-card level, every active member of the roster will have to raise their game, so to speak, and try that much harder to prove that they are championship material. With the larger pool of talent that will now be gunning for the Remnant Championship, whoever leaves Heatwave with the gold will have an even bigger target on his or her back and will need to fight that much harder to hold onto it. Now, more so than ever, those who can prove their mettle in the hunt for the Remnant Championship will show who can truly compete at that higher level and is capable of "hanging with the big boys" in the main event.
