It was after the dreadful night that was the war between En'radial, the Maiden of Torment, and the forces of Shard City. In 2013 En'radial possessed the power of the Crimson Jewel, a dangerous and destructive artefact, and used it to empower herself with the abilities she lost after exile from Hell. On a path of chaos and redemption she attempted attacking Shard City in order to corrupt the World Nexus and successfully open a door large enough to summon her brothers of Hell to the world. Luckily, however, The Conclave of Declasia re-emerged from their hidden Land of Crows and managed to fend off and defeat En'radial. With her soul locked within the Crimson Jewel and her hellish forces defeated, all that is left now is a scarred land stretching a mile out from the city's East gate. This once hospitable portion of field is now known as the Dead Plains, black, charred ground with scorched trees and no signs of life. The smell of burning can still be found. Druids are working every day to attempt healing the area, but to no avail.
