Otto was a pain in the a**, but he was also family, and Peyton had every intention of winning him over by sheer stubborn force if nothing else. She had told him to meet them in the common room, and despite the sass, she knew he would be there, so the elder Creedy sister was currently tossing a shirt at the younger one and attempting to hurry her out of her dorm room and towards the designated meet up. She had told Astrid about Otto the night before. There had been a lot of talking the nigth before, and not a lot of sleeping, and Peyton had learned some really distressing things, but she was trying really really hard not to think about them. Later. Later she could take a good hard look at the fact that her father was dead, and how that made her feel. Right this moment? She had a Sister to entertain and keep safe. "He's kind of grumpy, and sassy, but he's good people." It was the third time she'd said something to this effect, but she felt the need to reiterate the fact. The people in her life she gave a damn about were either a little wild, or absolute pains in the a**. Or both.

There was something about hearing, for the upteenth time, that he was really a good person. Obviously this Otto had to be a real character, which was why a brow delicately raised at the words. "Ya-huh." There was equal sass back, but she didn't slow her pace any. She was curious. She'd bite. Why all the panic that she hate this guy?
Either way, it WAS a good distraction. For the both of them. While she'd had time to come to terms with the accident, Peyton hadn't. Both had their own things to deal with, though Astrid's was arguably far easier. Being that Peyton being alive was a rather good thing. And... the island wasn't all bad. Why did she need someone to keep an eye on her? It didn't seem that dangerous.
Oh, but how little she knew. So instead she merely gave her sister a small 'mmmhmm' nod as she spoke some more. Good peoples. Yes. Certainly. Though perhaps she was describing herself at times with that. The though caused a small giggle to escape her as she worked to stifle it. This would be anther odd day at Deus apparently.
But in her opinion, waking up here wasn't so bad at all. At least she was wanted here.

And there Otto was in the common room, waiting a like a good little boy. He wasn't thrilled to be meeting more 'family'. Family was just a tie made with blood. A tie that he'd had no say in. Friendships were his own choice, and family was not. Being suckered into believing that the word was supposed to make him feel warm and fuzzy was not in Otto's plans. The word held too many negatives so far. But he liked Peyton enough that he'd play along. For now. So, he waited on the couch, fidgeting with an MP3 player.

She was rambling, she knew it, and she tried to stop. Peyton wasn't sure why she cared so much whether Astrid and Otto liked each other. She knew Otto didn't view their blood tie as some magic connection, but they had gone from being relative strangers to being more. Maybe it wasn't perfect, maybe he wasn't ready to let her in all the way, but there was something there that hadn't been before. A little effort, a little willingness to open up, and they had forged the foundation of a bond. She, at least, cared. A great deal. Likely more than she should have, but she had always been the selfless sort. Originally all that care and dedication had been focused all on one person, Astrid, but there were so many more people that had made a place in the Sun's life. Shutting up, Peyton gave Astrid a soft nudge to get her moving down the hall towards the common room, closing the door behind her. Astrid would see for herself. Peyton could talk all day if she wanted, but ultimately it was them that had to form their own opinions. When they reached the common room Otto was already waiting, and she flashed him a bright, happy smile for having indulged her craziness once again. The smile said 'thank you', and she placed hands on the smaller blonde's shoulders, walking her over to the couch the sullen teen was sitting on.

She was steered down the hall and into a room. A room with a figure sitting on a couch and distracted with a phone. Great first impression. Mainly that he was... a typical teenager. Or well close enough to one. It was visible that she wasn't particularly thrilled with the meeting either. She didn't know Otto's circumstances herself, and the last thing she knew of her family was the lovely jumble of 'find a place for the leftover.'
So her blood relatives had been oh so thrilled about her. Not that Otto was a part of it, but... close enough. Still. They could both manage this for Peyton. Because she'd asked and she was so very excited about this. So after a forward march to the couch she offered a smile, lifting a hand. "Hi there." She stated it as cheery as she could manage, trying to look presentable.
If he'd been here, then he wouldn't have been a part of that mess. It wasn't fair to hold a grudge. It really wasn't. "I'm Astrid, Peyton's sister." Likely he knew, buuuut best to get out of the way.Bittiface Equally thrilled Otto, equally thrilled.

Otto gave a tired, quiet sigh. Standing up, he took Astrid's hand and gave it a shake. "Hi. Otto." He replied bluntly, returning his hands to the pocket of his hoodie once free to. He eyed Peyton, wondering just what else he was supposed to do here. He didn't much care for play dates. "What'd you have planned beyond this?" He had so many other things to do. Like nap.

Planned? That made Peyton stop, because she hadn't actually thought things through beyond just getting the two into the same room. Admittedly, she'd assumed they'd talk things out a little more before she'd have to help move things along, but not this quickly. Sheepishly, she lifted a hand to rub at the back of her neck before perking up as an idea came to mind. "Let's go to the cafeteria." Trying to ignore the awkwardness settling around them, the elder Creedy looped an arm with both sister and cousin and began steering them down the fall. "It's almost lunch time, we can get something to eat." Or make it themselves. Pey used to make meals for her father and sister, she wasn't a bad cook.

Oh, her cousin had some manners. The shake was quick and done with rather suddenly. Greetings over, she wasn't sure what to say either. Peyton had said Otto was her cousin, and while he wasn't being outright mean... he was a brittle as she expected of a relative. They'd never liked her family or wanted anything to do with them. So the lack of surprise was evident. Nor was she very impressed until he said the one thing she likely wouldn't have said to her sister.
Yeeeup... what was the plan? Because it seemed neither wanted to get hugs or happy talky time started. What could she have in common with the people who couldn't be bothered to even meet her before making excuses to say why she wasn't worth taking with? ...even if Otto likely had been here this whole time. He was still from their group, right?
Sadly, or perhaps thankfully, Peyton came up with an idea after being stared down by both sets of eyes. Food. No one could complain about food. "Oh, I guess I am a little hungry." Truthfully she hadn't wanted to eat the food offered before because it was strangers, but from Peyton? Well she'd eat it if her sister said it was safe. Even better if it was cooked by her. She paused as she glanced at Otto, pointing at Peyton. "Has Peyton ever made you lunch before?" Yes, it was an evil plot to get a home cooked meal from her sister. It had been a while and she missed it.
She did have a plan B if it didn't work. Sad eyes and a guilt trip could do wonders. But hopefully her cousin could read a hint. Maybe. Either way, it was two to one, they were probably going to grab lunch, she was already ready to march over there.

As expected, Peyton had seemed to hope they would all just get chit chatty like it was normal, and not an awkward staring contest. He wasn't convinced a cafeteria trip would smooth that factoid over any. "No..?" Otto answered, brows furrowed. He'd never had Peyton's cooking. As for food, he'd always take up a trip to get food. Any healthy teenager liked to stuff their face, especially Otto. "I usually find my own lunch." Find, and not make. Bought food or leftovers from Kostya. Cooking was not something Otto could do.

Pale lavender eyes narrowed down on the younger Creedy. "I can take a hint." When was the last time she'd really cooked? Lips pursed, she took a second to think about it, only to realize she'd only ever done actual cooking once on the island. With Roland, they'd made tacos. Every other time had been someone else making the food, and her more or less watching. Hands in her pockets, Peyton brought thin shoulders up in a small shrug. "Foods not awful here, but I'm pretty sure I can make something tastier then whatever they served today." Maybe a little rusty, but surely cooking was much like riding a bike. Something you never really truly forgot. Hooking an arm around Astrid's, Pey moved to head back down the hall towards the caffeteria, pausing only to wait for Otto.

Five points Otto, you were smart enough to understand proper cues when given them. A smile showed on the younger sister's face as she gave Peyton a look. Even as the sun hunter was accepting her fate."I'll help?"She offered, knowing that she might have just sort of bullied her sister into making a meal.
Just a little bit.
But it HAD been a while since she got to have her sister's meals, so it was due! "Much better than what most cafeteria's serve." Astrid chimed after her sister, allowing herself to be caught in the linked arms ad led down the hall.
"I bet you haven't had something as tasty for a while." Yes, she was proud of what her sister was good at. Minus getting into fights. Those... weren't good. But hey, having soe family pride was a good thing, right?
