This is an RP log between bella's Nevara and Volly's Cole Quote: The sound of crunching leaves behind her, the familiar feeling of another by her side, was, at first, foreign. But, it was starting to grow on her, comfort her. And as she approached the grassy clearing she turned back to him, the moon glowing brightly behind her. The night was cool, but not as cold as it had been, which was definitely an approvement. She couldn't wait to get her mouth around the new spring buds. Her mouth almost watered at the thought. "Ya know.. "Nevara said on a sigh. "I miss nights like vis.. " Slowly, she lowered herself to the ground, looking up at the starlite sky. "Just looking up at the sky and trying to vind shapes in vhe stars." Quote: It was weird for Cole to get used to the strange way she spoke, but it too started to grow on him and he was less and less confused by her each day. He stopped when she did, but didn't lie down, instead followed her voice and line of sight up to the stars. He'd never taken the time to look up before, but then he'd never taken the time to do or notice a lot of things before he started tagging along with Nevara. "Why do you.. miss it?" His speech was still a bit broken, but it was slowly improving. She spoke to him often, even if he didn't respond, and sometimes it made him feel.. weird. Off, in a way, that he couldn't give as much back as she gave him. So he was working on it. Sort of. Quote: "Vell, I used to look up at the stars vith my daughters." Nevara said on a small sigh, her chin moving back and forth as she looked over the different shapes in the stars. "Fish, bears, dragons.. if you look hard enough.. they connect in a world of different shapes. It always amazed me the different things they could see in them." Quote: Animals, fish, flowers... All he saw was twinkling dots in the sky. Not that he doubted her, perhaps he just wasn't the visual imagining type. He lowered his head from looking up at the sky, and just stood there for a moment. Sometimes he still digested what others said for a while, and other times he was getting quicker to respond. "Your daughter.." She'd mentioned a daughter before, he remembered. "She's not with you.." A statement, but also a question at the same time, hopefully she understood what he was saying. Working on phrasing questions and statements properly was also on his things to practice. Quote: Smiling again, she nodded in understanding of his question. "Yes.. vey are both old enough to be on vier own. I'm still close to one. Vhe other... I haven't seen since she left." The end of her statement was tinged slightly with sadness, but she swallowed it back. That day was filled with so many conflicting emotions, she rarely thought about it. "I also have 2 siblings... But as you can see, ve aren't as close as ve used to be" Quote: Cole could practically sense the sadness rolling off her, and he bent his head down to her level. He'd never offered comfort before, and therefore didn't know what to do. Confliction showed in his eyes as he warred with himself about what he was supposed to do. Not knowing, and not wanting to make her uncomfortable, he just raised his head back up again without doing anything. "Siblings." He thought for a moment, as if it rung a bell in his head. "I have a sister." In truth, he had a half sister as well, but had probably only met her briefly when he was a child. Quote: Nevara could practically feel the warmth of his face next to hers for a moment before a cool breeze raced across her cheek, that phantom warmth gone before she had a chance to to figure it out. Was she just imagining it? She didn't think so, especially with being being as close as he was. Looking up, she met Cole's eyes. Kindness and graditude shinning brightly in her own, that she only hoped he understood. "Vank you.. " she whispered, swallowing thickly again. "A sister.. " From the way he answered, she could only guess that they weren't close. Which, she understood all too well. "Have you vought about seeing her?"

Quote: Thought about seeing her? He barely remembered her. Cole remembered she was different like him though. He didn't even remember her name. "No. I don't know where she is." He paused. "We weren't very close." She'd stood up for him once, he only remembered a hazy memory of back then. She had been furious about what had happened to him... "I'm not close with anyone though." Quote: "Oh.. I'm sorry.." Come to think of it, she'd never really been close to either of her siblings. "Though, from your actions, it looks like your trying to change that.." Nevara smiled slightly, her gaze shifting slightly. She was also trying to find a confidant. Someone that she'd be able to share her encounters and feelings with. Quote: Cole looked down at her, a curious look in his eyes. Was he? He couldn't deny that he had spent the most time with her than anybody else in his adult life. There was something about her that just made him feel more comfortable. "Maybe. I don't know if I'm trying on purpose though. It's just.. happened. I guess." He was relaxing more and more in her presence and finally decided to lay down beside her, but leaving some space between them more for her sake than his. She'd never once asked him about what was wrong with him, she just blindly accepted him. He didn't know why but deep down he appreciated her blind faith in him. Quote: "I guess.. " Nevy whispered on a sigh. Relaxing slightly as he layed down beside her. Was she tense to begin with? She hadn't even realized it. But sensing him relax towards her presence, made her relax in turn. She hadn't known how in tune to him she'd become over the past week or so, but it was comforting to have someone with her. Someone that seemed to want to get to know her and not expect anything in return. The change of pace was more than welcomed and left her wondering even more about him. Quote: It seemed they were settling down for the night, they'd done this quite a few times now. He still didn't know what compelled him to follow her day after day, but until she pushed him away he figured he would continue to do it. He wouldn't touch her though. No one seemed thrilled about touching him for reasons he didn't necessarily understand, but he figured she would be the same as the rest so he kept his distance.
Before they could fully settle down, his ears, always alert to things before his brain seemed to notice, flicked to the side all of a sudden. There was some rustling coming from her side. Then some growling. And some eyes glowing in the dim moonlight. He was on his hooves faster than he'd probably ever moved in his life and stood over Nevara. She was caged underneath him as he stood in a protective stance, his head lowered to meet the would be attacker and a growl actually left his mouth. Later he would probably think he'd never growled in his life, but now he was operating on a completely different system it seemed. His lip curled to bare his slightly fanged teeth in hopes of scaring off the creature. Quote: The feral sound beside her caught Nevara off guard as she sat back up, her head swinging towards the noise. She really hoped it wasn't something large that could over power h....her. Her train of thought fizzled as she looked up at.. Cole. "Cole..." she breathed. His stance and whole demeaner seemed to change at the threat. She'd never seen him, or anyone stand up to a possible threat for her. The sound from him seemed even more feral than the opposing creature. Weirdly, she sound herself curled back, her cheek resting against his leg for something soothing. With him, like this, she felt protected.
As her eyes stared at where the noise came from, she noticed the bushes russling wildly, another, softer growl before the leaves stopped all together as if the threat had moved on.
She hoped anyway. Either way, she sensed that she would be tense for a while. She smaller body quaking now that whatever it was, had moved on. Nevara's head leaned more fully against him, seeking the comfort she needed after the small scare. "Vank.. you.." she whispered. Quote: Cole sensed the presence had moved on, and blew a snort out of his nose almost as an after warning for it to not come back. He'd never stood up for anything in his life. There were times he probably wouldn't have stood up for himself if he had been attacked. There was a soft brush on his leg and he peered down at what was causing it. The sight damn near shocked him. It wasn't even that she was touching him, it was her so close to one of his shackles. The contrast, her gentle face so soft and soothing next to something so harsh and unforgiving. It practically tipped his world upside down.
He shook off the momentary shock and found her shaking. His nose snuffled in her hair as if searching for a wound or something that hurt her. "What is wrong? Are you alright?" Quote: Nevara looked up, smiling weakly. "Yeess.. Just a little... sshaken. " she said sighing. The slight brushing of her hair soothed her slightly. And in a way, took her off guard. She didn't think he touched anyone often, but he seemed to be trying his best to calm her. "Vank you.." she whispered again. "Do you vink you could stay close tonight? I.. just vink I'm a little.. shaken." Quote: Cole gave her a quick look over and seemed to accept her explanation that she was just shaken. She wanted him close? He was almost ready to talk her out of it, perhaps make her see that she didn't really want him closer, but he couldn't bring himself to do. He just nodded. Once he stepped back over her, he settled back to the ground but this time he was closer. There was just the slighest brushing between them and he would leave it up to her to determine the distance. Quote: She couldn't help it. The slightest smile remained on her lips as she settled a bit closer to him. Feeling his warmth next to her softened the tension in her limps and left her feeling a bit drained. "Cole.." she whispered softly. "vank you.." The words had barely left her mouth before her eyes fluttered closed, exhaustion taking hold of her and drawing her into one of the deepest sleeps she's had in quite a while. Quote: Her trust in him caused his own tension to quickly fade. She continued to thank him and he was confused on what he continued to do that required her thanks. His mind was quickly tiring though and decided he would figure it out later. Taking advantage of her sleeping, he leaned slightly into her form and his head lay next to hers.

Quote: Filtered sunlight woke Nevara the next morning, her eyes slowly fluttering opening as she took in the sight around her. The rhythmic breathing behind her causing her to freeze up before the moments of last night came rushing back to her.
Oh, thank goodness. She inwardly thought. A small grin forming on her lips as she relaxed back and enjoyed the early light of the sun as it warmed her face. She really could get used to days like this. To nights like last night, that made her so precious and content. Quote: Cole was snoring. Yep. He'd probably never had such a good night sleep as he had had that night. He'd shifted sometime during the night and was snugly pressed up against his sleeping companion, enjoying the warmth that she gave.
Her movements slowly woke him, and he grunted as he shifted a bit while fully coming back to himself. Where was he? His head lifted and was immediately met with gorgeous light blue eyes. He thought he was dreaming for a minute until he shook the sleep off. "Sorry." Quote: Sighing contently, she leaned her head back against him. The movement trying to tell him that she wasn't the least bit upset with his position last night. "Shouldn't I be saying vank you? I wanted it.." Quote: "You've already said thank you." Which was true, he was sure she had said it a million times before they'd fallen asleep. What did she want? He was probably confusing something she meant with something else. "I meant.. sorry for.. my face was really close to yours.." Quote: "Oh.. " she whispered as the slightest of blushes coloring her light blue cheeks. "I guess I have been saying that alot.. Last night vas the first really nice ving someone has done vor me in a really long time." Come to think of it, he was usually awake before her. "I just appreciate it... alot." Quote: Nice thing.. what nice thing did he do? She couldn't mean when he had protected her, could she? That was a no brainer for him, he had to protect her. Like he would let some creature hurt her. It seemed what he had done affected her a lot more than he anticipated. "You're welcome. I didn't say that before..." Quote: "Vell, it vas a very refreshing sleep." she softly, her head lifting from him at that moment to look him in the eyes. "Do you have any requests for the day?" she asked, smiling. --- END
