Just wondering, are there any formulas that will actually make more money than they cost since inflation became so rampant? Let me know what your experience is!

Not many that I know of.
Most of the formulas requiring non-cache components either cost a fortune to make or the components/formulas are nonexistent.
Trick or Treat Tote is the only thing I've crafted outside my Wing quest, but that was before Witchy spiked to 60m (Got mine for about 2m).
Haven't really bothered to check the last few days but there's probably something still worth crafting.

There are, but it requires a HUGE investment (read: hundreds of millions) of gold to make them. They're all formulas that use non-cache components to make items that are either Alchemy-exclusive. Sometimes, those items get placed into RIG, which causes their value to crash.
For example, Erebus' Moon was inflated up to 100+ mil. It used to be in a RIG bundle, I think, but the bundle went extinct and it became Alchemy-exclusive again. Even the formula for making Erebus' Moon got inflated. It was recently placed into the Cutie Catcher RIG as a rare prize, and its value dropped down to about 30-40 mil, which is about the break even point (or just below) if you make one from scratch (depending on how much you paid for the formula and Hermes' + Mercury's Moons).
Making a profit from crafting in Alchemy is definitely possible, but it requires a lot of active research, a ridiculously large bank roll, and some luck.
EDIT: Of course, there is always the safe Orb Aggregates and Alchemist's Case. Those will always net you a decent profit since you can, theoretically, invest only the crafting cost and buying the formula itself.

the only I really know that can bring a profit is the orb aggregate.

I've had decent luck with the components. Things like uranium biscuits, angel imp feather, etc. They at least sell for a few mil, upwards of 10 mil (depending on how rare the items in the formula are), & I've just been buying caches in the Bifrost & getting crafting items that way. So I've just sold the components I craft on the MP & they've been selling. I also make caches to rake in some extra gold, so that helps. Though I'll need to start opening those soon to try & get my wing quest formula X3
But yea, I stay away from the non-component formulas now since...the RIG items that some require are insanely high priced.

But then again, I am a lower level than most here, but I like making profit unless I only lose a bit in alchemizing something. It does take a load of research and time.
