"I am perfect shoulder size." She declared, not the least bit bothered by her height. Small did not mean she couldn't kick major butt.
Now, Van did not but he'd signed himself up for a first way ticket to detention hall if he took much of the ghoul's advice. Hopefully he had more sense. "Van, huh?" She chimed, nodding lightly. "Well we'll see lots then!" She added, picking up her pace a bit. "We've got caves, and old places that shouldn't be, and there's the haunted house!" Somehow, she at least knew THAT was a bad idea. Something about maybe he shouldn't go see the hunters. Even if Jake was super, duper, nice. And AAAAAAAAHHHHH was cool! Destructive side for those two though...
Regardless, Van was hastily being pulled across the lawn toward one of the far sides. Namely the monster dorms. "I show you the dorms first! We've got a living furnace that hearts the center area." Which was a certain Furnace Dog student. "And then I think there might be lakes in some rooms, and I have yet to find them but I will!" She added. "And you can see my vaisels!" He was apparently going to learn she chose to just sleep on a pile of blankets with her pets each nice. Beds were for normal people.
"There's the roof too! You know there's a spot that's great for climbing up the side!" Ignore the fact there were stairs to get up there. Shhh, that was too logical. "And if we have time we can see about visiting some old halls in the back. I think there might be some odd critters lurking back there. I've been trying to catch em!" Yes, she was like a non-stop thing rattling on as she pulled him along. Thankfully this one seemed to enjoy her pulling as much as she enjoyed doing it. Which was why they were actually making good progress and the monster dorms could be seen not far ahead.

He didn't particularly want to get detention, but he did love the idea of adventures! So he didn't quite know what he was getting himself into, it was true-- he couldn't get a detention if he wasn't really a student, though, could he, so there.
And he probably didn't have more sense. If she said jump he would do it. He wouldn't even ask how high or where to, he would just do whatever. "A living furnace?! Hey, that sounds pretty awesome," and by pretty, he meant can I live there forever, could you adopt me so I can sleep next to the living furnace I'm always cold please help. At the mention of lakes, he shuddered: "Hopefully we don't have to find the lakes today?"
As far as the pile of blankets covered in pets was concerned, Van himself slept in a very similar situation, except instead of pets he slept in piles of stuffed animals. "Vaisels! That's cute, that sounds really cute, can I hug vaisels??"
Van was so excited he couldn't even handle it. Honestly, if Simply had stopped talking for more than a breath, Van would have just filled it with the exact same kind of chatter. He could talk nonstop to himself for hours without even noticing. He was a one-boil conversation.
"Is that the dorm??" he asked, brimming with anticipation.

Silence, and then something odd happens. The world flips, the colours invert and then turn a strange orange and blue. You hear a noise, an odd echo, familiar voices, all ringing in your ears as something squeezes out from the colour in long spindly strings and forms a strange shape.
"Go back."
Without warning it lunges at you - and then the world breaks open into white.
Around you, a valley brimming with life. It is filled with greenery, filled with living things, with blood and sunlight and fresh meat. You feel the wind swirl around you, carrying you higher, yet your vision is keen enough still to pick up the movement of each creature under you- the flight of you and your flock is of utter bliss as you seek the dead and dying. Yet you get the feeling nothing dies. It's been so long since your last meal. You are starving, and in the far off distance, you spy a smoking volcano. Even there, you think, would be no dead to feast upon.
The images continue to assault you the strange other you continues to talk until everything fades to white again and the room is normal.
What just happened? OOC: THE DISTORTION MOB - Distortion mobs will influence the area around you, causing it to stand still. It immediately throws your character into a "mirror" scenario, basically an [ Alternate universe ] where your character was something else. Read the above prompt, and then write out a [ small drabble ] where your character belonged to that alternate universe. If you are in a PRP you may write out your part, and either INCLUDE the other person in your thread(s) as if they were PART of the PRP or both of you can write separate viewpoints. Just a quick response prompt in drabble form is fine before the distortion breaks. Just one post is good! AU PROMPT: You are a vulture, seeking out your next mean in a valley of seemingly endless life. You fellow flock members have yet to spy anything dead or rotting or even dying and now, you are dying of starvation. After your character experiences it, the illusion breaks and they are back where they are again., as if nothing has happened!

If anyone asked Simply, getting detention was a game in itself. Seeing as... well detention was a unique experience depending on the teacher. So.. it wasn't ALL bad. Regardless though, that was for a time when it happened.
"YEA! I don't really know him, but I've walked past him?" There was a REALLY burning fire dog there. So she was nodding furiously at the words as she scurried along. "They love hugs! And cuddles! And petting!" Most of them anyway. She had more than a few vaisels roaming her room, so of course there would be vaisel cuddling sessions!
No way there wouldn't be.
As they approached she nodded to his question. "The monster dorms! There's one for ghosts, undead, reapers, and demons too. But ours is the best!" Because it was theirs. "Come on we can go in!" She may have flung the door open rather proudly to display the entryway before prancing down the hall. "My rooms up a floor and this way, but there's a LOT of rooms. And underground and stuff too!" They had something for everyone after all.
And then something peculiar happened. She found the shades altering themselves before a weird voice spoke. And then... as something moved toward her she found herself floating in the wind. Hunger ate at her, but the world was beautiful and vast. Below life was everywhere, but what she was seeking was death. Even ahead where smoke trailed above she knew there would be little to gain, but... she was so hungry. What could she do-
And then it was gone again, one hand raising to tap at her lips. "Huh. Kay." World was doing stuff again. Well that was normal. "Silly glooby globs."

Van was terribly excited by the vaisel-cuddling prospect, and he even added: "I promise not to eat any of them! Or even try," he was very sincere. He really meant it. He seemed proud that he meant it, too.
He huffed when she said the Monster dorms were the best, seeming disappointed, "But I'd be in the demon dorms," he said, distressed. Still, it would be amazing just to go here, and not visit every once and a while like he had been.
"Is this part of adventures!?" Van asked, super impressed Simply could make everything turn blue and orange. I mean, sure, it wasn't the mose useful talent but it was pretty showy-- and then he heard the voice, Go back[/]. The things lunged and Van lunged back, predatory instincts meaning he wasn't just going to take that.
He was in the wind, and trying not to flap in furious circles lest he totally threw himself off course. How did flying work?? He sort of tried to take a back seat to the flight part of his body, because honestly he wasn't terribly comfortable being this high off the ground and how did wings work help. "Raww! RAW?" he tried to talk to himself, and Van was hungry in his dream which wasn't unusual. Was it a dream? What was it, anyway? And why did it have to be dead first so he could eat it?
His inner predator was very displeased with this notion, except that he didn't really know how that worked: the vision seemed to carry on on its own, and he could feel the divide between Van who was at Amityville and Van who was a vulture (?). The Vulture him was starving, and felt like he was about to plunge from the sky out of weakness and into death.
When he came back to himself, in his own body. "Guess that wasn't you, huh?" he said, looking warily at his pink friend, ears flat against his head. "Does that... happen often? Maybe next time we see those, we should, uh, run."

She may have briefly given him an odd look at the eating comment. But it didn't last, nor seem to slow her down any as she pulled him along. "I doubt they taste good anyway~!" She chimed, her voice sing song as she moved along. "The food from the creepateria is supposedly sometimes minipets. And it really isn't that good." Yeeup, she was more concerned about the taste. Maybe.
You know until he actually tried to eat one. Then perhaps he'd be thrown out a window. Then let back in the next day.
At his huff she held up both hands and shrugged. "Well you can't win everything? Besides you can still visit if you have friends?" She offered, beaming happily as she walked along rather pleased.
And no, no she could not make the world go woop-dee-doo crazy. Alas. She'd have been showing everyone if she could. She he merely got a solid shake of her head. "Nope. But it happens!" Obviously, all the more reason he should want to go to this school. But back to reality meant they were nearly there and she was throwing open the door to show him in. Which probably didn't live up to the hype, but to her it was perfect. "Home sweet home!" And then they were off down a hall. "My room is this way, you can see it's nice!" She added, walking along quickly before finally stopping at a door and opening it.
No. It had not been locked. That would be silly.
Inside was a pile of fluffy minipets, some smaller than others, but all clearly the same race as they yawned and peered up. The room wasn't shabby, but it was obvious she didn't spend a lot of time inside it either. A touch messy, but mostly plain aside from the needed things and some scattered books and paper. They looked a bit chewed on. It MIGHT have been a ghouls room if you took the dresses and clothing choice to mind. Otherwise it was more like a wild animals cage at times. "Nice isn't it?" Perfect in her opinion.

Van avoided answering. Cute things always looked delicious and his affectionate look was often extremely comparable, if not unmistakeable, from his hungry look. But he really did cross his heart not to try to eat any of her precious pets.
On the other hand, there was a reason he merely slept in a pile of stuffed animals, and not minis. He didn't do well with temptation. If it meant being thrown out a window, though, he could probably rein it in.
"Why can't I win everything?!" Van asked, his ears perking up, tail lashing back and forth. Challenge accepted! "I do love friends. Isn't having friends a lot like winning??" he asked, trotting happily with Simply.
Van was so positively thrilled to be inside any of the dorms that naturally it had lived up to expectations. Because his expectation was that he would be happy and so of course he was.
The fact that it wasn't locked actually didn't surprise Van. Was there a reason to lock the room? Immediately upon entering Simply's room, Van bent down to minipet level and watched them with very wide, sparkly, happy eyes. The red glow his irises gave off seemed almost flashlight strong, he was so excited. His eyes teared up. His mouth watered.
He would not bite them, not even a nibble. But he wanted to cuddle them all at once, so badly that his fingers were definitely twitching. "So. Cute." Van managed only those two words.

"Cause you can't be in our dorm." She stated very plainly, pausing at he continued. "Very. Very much so!" She couldn't agree more than having a metric ton of friends was the best way to win at life as a whole. Finally, someone who agreed properly! So many creeple argued against it!
Thankfully they didn't have get too long to go on a circle jerk about friends and it being the best and all the things. Because as they reached her room there was a delightful bout of fluffy to distract. Which, after waking up didn't seem to bothered by the fact they were being beckoned over for cuddles. Though a few seemed concerned about the whole mouth watering thing. They were not food. But as their keeper was there they didn't seem to stay back long before crowding around in a squeaky mewling mass of fur. They were so very, very used to being cuddled you see. Seeing as they were often used as a pseudo blanket more often than not. "Friendly too!" She chimed, letting him have his fun with the rather complete mass of fur.
No harm no trouble after all!

The idea that anyone would argue against having tons and tons of friends baffled Van. The more around him, the better, and he was probably the kind who'd text and call more than he needed to. Just because. If he had a lot of friends, then maybe the spam to one person would be eased a little and he'd seem like less of a stalker.
Van just wanted to cry at how wonderful being surrounded by all these fluffy creatures was. He could definitely contain his mouth-watering. He was gentle with the pets, as they were pets and he didn't want to hurt his new friend's feelings. "I wish I lived here!" he sobbed, rubbing his face into one of the minis.
"How do you ever leave? I'd want them with me all the time!!"
So clearly, he couldn't own pets.

If Simply had been able to figure out how to add numbers and text on her phone her friends might have abandoned her. Thankfully she barely knew how to text her mother back with 'k' after being told not to sleep outside, or leave her homework behind. Things like that. So instead she showed up at doors. Which was a lot more fun when they opened them.
Because then she got hugs. Or well they did. Wether they wanted one or not. So much better.
She couldn't help the grin as he seemed to be enjoying her pets almost as much as she did. One got plucked up as it squeaked at her feet before she giggled at the words. "You can visit if they let you!" And then the dreaded question. Which she had a point blank, no nonsense answer for.
"Because my friends aren't here all the time!" Obviously, if they weren't there, she had to go find them. And see them. And it was more fun with them. "Then just bring them back and life is perfect!" Not to mention there were those times she had to save the world or something.
Or just... not die. Whatever. Things. "I can't meet hunters here. Or see human fairs. But if I go out I can come back and tell them! And they wait for me~!" She added, lifting the vaisel in her arms up to nuzzle it's face against hers a moment. "So it balances out, you know?"
