I'm still trying to figure out the best way to get my dyes, myself XD bug hunting seems to take way too long, but I don't know if it's cheaper to buy bugs, smash them, or buy ink to make a dye, or just flatout buy the dye. I've been using a mix. I got one dye via donation, and the rest I've been mixing, using a combination of inks and bugs. If you're willing to wait for the lowest possible prices, you can get it cheaper going the ink route though. Just depends on the market at the time.

Yes, Grey Body Dye requires 250 White and 250 Black. Black Ink is produced from House Flies, Fireflies and Cicadas. There is no common bug that produces White Ink, but you can make White Ink by mixing 5 jars each of Red, Green, and Blue. Red Ink comes from Red Flies, Red Beetles, Red Dragonflies and Red Butterflies; Green comes from Grasshoppers and Green Dragonflies, or from mixing Yellow and Blue or Concentrating 5 jars of Yellow; and Blue comes from Blue Beetles, Blue Dragonflies and Blue Butterflies. I am not going to tell you anything that could lead to you destroying Great Monarchs or Demonflies in any other way than as Alchemy Components, but you can also get Black Ink by bringing Moira the rare bugs Rhino Beetle and Whistler, one jar per bug.

And I know you can smash those bugs for inks, but that would be sacrosanct XD I have ONE demonfly for my lucifers and he's being kept safely.... for now XD
