A spiral forged with crimson blood This is my pact, my soul, my life. With the power gifted to me I will protect the ones I hold dear This is my Crimson Oath. Main belief's: The Shinku Chikai believe heavily in the concept of Karma, and believe that ones retribution for the sins they commit comes during life, not after death. A belief that parents instill by telling children that Tamamo-no-mae will eat all those who have evil spirits.
Deity:Tamamo-no-mae is the deity they worship, and presides over Karma, and is said to judge those who follow her during their life and allow them to become one with her after their death.Until their souls has been purified and they are released to move to their next life.
Red moon festivals:The Shinku Believe that The phenomena of the red moon is a sign of Tama releases the souls she has stored up since the last occurrence. It is at this time the tribes people pray for their relatives safe travel to their new life. and is usually met with a festival led by The elder and those He/she has deemed capable of leading the festivities. (Usually the next in line, or those who have devoted themselves to learning the history and beliefs of the tribe.
Initiation:The Shinku try to gain Tama's favor by taking an oath upon reaching adulthood, or joining the tribe to protect the ones they care for, and helping those who are in need. By reciting the crimson mantra (seen above), followed by imprinting their paw-print on a rock in the center of the tribe. From here they are officially under Tama's watch and protection.
Warfare: The tribe has mostly been peaceful, over the last few generations, however combat is part of the practices for Kits, mainly as a form of self defense, and in case the tribe is threatened by others.

Our Story: Long ago there was a traveling fox who knew much about cleansing dark spirits. On his travels he found a vixen who was plagued by a spirit of vengence, after staying with her for a time to cleanse her troubled soul, the vixen passed on and in the foxes dreams he saw the deceased fox whos spirit revealed itself as the deity Tamamo no Mae.She tanked him for his act although it ened in her downfall, it freed her from the mortal realm she was bound to after the spirits former life as a evil demon. She asked the male to spread her story so that other souls wouldnt be cursed as she was to a life of misery, and the world wouldnt fade to darkness. He took her request and slowly gained a following, had children, and lived his life to its end leaving his son to follow in his footsteps. The son of the traveler, was the male who became the founder of the shinku Chikai tribe. As generations went by the message of the tribe was skewed and distorted into a fashion that lasted til the 8th generation, a vision where the tribe saw any foxes they saw as evil were to be destroyed in order to "save the purity of the world" and from there the "shinku's dark age of purification" However the 8th elder Seto found this wrong, and did something that at the time was seen as insane and an act of treason, he accepted a Daeva kit into the tribe, he stood by his decision all the way through even on his death bed. He watched as this Kit grew up near his own daughter, and although some still didnt accept him, the next elder, Rinko, setos daughter found the deava Aurum to be trustworty enough to trust her live and love to him. Months after Rinko was brought up to the role, an enemy tribe attacked, and the shinku were thrown into a war with the neighboring tribe whuich sought to punish the shinku for their past crimes. Over the next year the battle was back and forth, and the shinku were ultimately victorious, however at the meeting between elders to make peace Rinko was betrayed, as the other elders attacked her mortally wounding her. The wound was grave enough to limit her lifespan. As the 9th was using her remaining time, her and her mate were met with 2 children, however one had a strange aura about it, a weaker pulse then the other. the Medics that were charged with the elders health soon announced her passing, as well as the Weaker Bcr.
In ancient practices when an elder passed on, their next of Kin would take over. However with the last Elder Rinko's passing there was no next of kin as both her children were still BCR's and unable to take on responsibility. When one child passed before birth the counsel decided that the death of both one child and the elder on the same day, was a sign from Tamamo no Mae that the tribe was doomed to fade from the history books, and all members disbanded and went on their ways, never to see one another again. years later, a female fox began to wonder why her mother was never seen or heard from. Her father decided it was time to take her on a trip to the burial grounds of the Shinku Chikai tribe, where her mother Rinko was buried, and where she was to rebuild her family's legacy and take up the mantle of elder. Other foxes came, and the tribe began to come back together, gaining needed members allys and a guardian who became very protective over his duties. To be continued...

Life for a child in SC:
A kit who has recently hatched is kept with their parents, as it is highly believed that family should always be top priority for anyone seeking Tama's favor. As a kit grows they can however be taken for short lesson periods and be taught basic survival skills if the parents cannot do so themselves. It has not been a rare occasion to see the elder or her council taking this task up themselves. During these lessons which last only a few short hours and mostly consist of "learning through mimicry" are built to allow trust between mentor and pupil to grow, and instill the basic tribe values of family, loyalty and selflessness. When reaching adulthood the child is given the choice to join the tribe or leave to go find their own happiness, or other tribe, however they are encouraged to keep the ideals instilled in them as they go through the trials of life.
For an adult member:
A kit who has reached adulthood and decided to stay with the tribe, or an adult who voyages to the location to join are required to take the Crimson Oath, where they swear to uphold the tribes ideals. This Is done once a month when the moon is full. this is said to be the night Tama looks away from her duties to watch over those who have decided to be her messengers. It is after this that members are allowed to take up the Shinku's crest, and become an active contributing tribesman. Where they will help all those they come across on travels, those tribesmen who need a hand, or foxes who wander in. When an injured fox wanders in even if it is an enemy, Shinku Chikai foxes will put all strife behind and assist the downed fox, and if possible try to gain the subjects favor and try to convert them to the tribe, or at the very least gain an ally.

Tattoo emblem This is the symbol that has been selected for the tribe. It can be placed on the body or on an article of clothing or piece of jewelry. It's coloration does not matter. Jewelry: You may also choose to place a magatama on your fox either as a necklace or an earring. Example of a green one.

The Shinku call the forest their home, specifically a forest that houses an ancient shrine dedicated to Tama. The original elder made a pilgrimage to this shrine to seek the deities guidance and was given a vision as to Tama's wish. The tribe was then built around this shrine whose location is between a mountain and a large lake. The Lake:
This is where the tribesmen go to bathe and hunt for fish. There is a river that leads to a waterfall where the elder has been often seen meditating and trying to communicate with Tama.
