She watched quietly, with the last rays of light fading and taking away the lethargic spell she'd been under. Night was taking over and she did so admire it. The land seemed to turn into a whole new creature when the stars came out and the moon was the only light to see by. It had frightened her when younger, but the purple mare had learned to love it since then. Things were more peaceful. And at times, more mysterious. But not tonight. The mare inhaled deeply, rising from where she'd been curled beneath the trees to nap. Somewhere above her head she heard a soft squeaking yawn as her familiar began to rouse too.
Shaking her mane out, Dark Side stretched her wings out, feeling the faint breeze tease the feathers. It made her smile, eyes lighting up a bit. Flying was something she loved to do. Something she had enjoyed much more when she had learned with her sister. A small frown crept along her muzzle before the mare shook it off and shoved those thoughts back down. Past memories had been plaguing her more and more lately and was, perhaps, why she couldn't stay long in one place any longer. The mountains she'd been calling 'home' for a time were truly nice, but it had only been a fleeting feeling. So once again, she was wandering with Bix. The bat in question finally swooped down about her head before catching a hold of her mane and flopping against her neck. "Good evening, little friend." Dark Side snorted, nuzzling the little nut before suddenly rearing up and taking off at a run.
It felt wonderful to get in a bit of evening excorcise. Bix released his hold to race her in the air as she ran on the ground. A soft laugh escaped the mare, something she tended to reserve for when she was alone with her familiar or someone she trusted. When she did finally begin to slow, sides lightly burning, she let her feet carry her where they would. "Go." She murmured to Bix. "Find food." He grinned and flapped (not so gracefully) off, leaving her alone. But that was alright. There were trees to keep her company. And maybe, if she was lucky, she could locate the stallion she'd met recently. He'd been on her mind the past few days, a small bit of worry in wondering if he was alright.
Her hoof slipped on something strange along the ground while she let her thoughts take over. Stumbling a bit, Dark Side glanced towards the ground and felt her breath catch. A half buried bone. It sent a shiver along her back as she gazed sadly at it, unable to tell what sort of animal it belonged too.

She stepped aside carefully, sliding her hoof along to make sure she didn't step on any more of the poor creature who lay at her hooves. The sight of them chilled her, tugging at the dreams and memories that had been plaguing her lately. "Poor thing... " Dark Side murmured, closing her eyes briefly before suddenly freezing. A sound, almost too soft to hear, was coming towards her. The mare looked around carefully, jumping slightly when she heard a voice to her right. Looking quickly over, she felt her tension ease as she recognized the stallion. She met him before, helped him even, and traveled a bit together before parting ways. He'd been a rather comforting presence, even though he was rather quiet and lacked emotion. Or just didn't show it.
Dark Side smiled a little in greeting. "Hello. And it appears that we do." It didn't bother her very much that his tone was rather cold. He'd been like that when she first met him too. But he'd not chased her away. "Aside from my familiar, yes." Her ears fell slightly, a faint bit of shyness coloring her tone. "I'm usually alone." She added softly, wondering what he'd think of that. It didn't bother her much. She was used to being by herself more than around other soq. Oddly enough, though, with his offer of providing company, she couldn't say no. Last time had been interesting, despite what he said. "I would appreciate the company, if it's not much of a bother." Her gaze lingered on the bones for a moment longer before flicking up towards the sky. "The evening is still young." She added, glancing back at him. "I'm sure Bix won't be too long hunting."
Stepping lightly and quietly, Dark Side moved towards Skah, a surprised look flashing across her face as he remembered her name. "Correct." She replied, wings shifting a little. "Skah... Achak Shen?" Had she said it right? Surprising, perhaps, that she remembered his full name. But it had been unique and she'd not forgotten it. "What brings you out here tonight?" She asked curiously.
