"OKAY!"
Ren was already bouncing enthusiastically down the hallway, his wings flapping to keep him airborne. He seemed not to realize that he was doing it, hovering several inches above the ground, and the expression on his face was a delighted one, the gryphon clearly pleased.
He clasped his hands together. "Where would you like to start first?"

Fi really wasn't too sure how she was supposed to take the guy. He was very nice, that seemed certain but the breeze from his flapping wings made her flinch just a tiny bit and she was striding fairly quickly just to keep up with him.
"Oh ehm... " Come on now, had the dream meant nothing?
Steeling herself, feeling more steady just from the memories of all she had overcome in a dream -- she offered a smile and put some serious thought into what she wanted to see, "What about the dorms? Where I would be living?" Hopefully that didn't bother him, but just in case it did, "I honestly don't know anything about this place besides it's a school... So can I see everything?"

"Dorms, yes!" Ren clapped his hands together excitedly. "So you are...a demon, I take it?" he asked kindly, and then pointed in one direction.
"This way, we'll go this way."
Soaring along beside her, he asked, "So what sort of things do you want to know about Amityville?"

Having expected a much less…. Friendly welcoming, Fi was having a really hard time acclimating herself to Ren. She just didn’t know how to act and even being herself felt a bit too formal. Her entire life had been spent with the dynamic of Father, Mother, Brother, oh-and-what’s-her-face.
Hoping her expression wasn’t too desperate she trotted beside Ren and clutched her hands into fists tightly, “Everything… I want to know everything… I want to see everything and know it all.”
This was going to be her home. It had to be. “What do you like best here? What’s the worst thing about this place? Are Hunters terrifying? Have you met a horseman?” The questions had just begun….

That was an easy question.
"The people," said Ren enthusiastically. He pushed open a door and they were outside now, out on the grounds of the school. He gestured for her to continue following him, heading towards the demon dorms far off in the distance. "The people here are wonderful - at least for the most part," he added with a grin. "My ghoulfriend still goes here, and my little brother just graduated and so did my bestest friend Tybat!
"As for the hunters and horsemen, well," said Ren, and his grin had turned a little gentler, a little kinder. "We'll talk about them later. Right now is for fun times!"

Hard to imagine living in a place where all of the people wouldn't look at her and snarl and sneer... Even if most of them did that would still give her a quite a bit of improvement. The air was pretty brisk and she found herself wishing that she had brought something warmer than the capelet, but Fi was not about to complain. She was headed towards living at the most magical place probably anywhere.
"Okay, so only fun... what is there to do here for fun? So you go to classes, do homework, and then what?" Hard to imagine ever having freetime, so many different buildings were around and she really didn't know what any of them were used for.

The question seemed right up Ren's alley. In fact, he grew so enthusiastic at it that he very nearly ran into a tree, Ren's wings flapping vigorously to keep him afloat. He gave Fifi an enormously pleased smile, his cheeks flushed with pleasure.
"SCARIO KART CLUB," he practically yelled. "It's like, the greatest club ever. And we do these awesome events and races and stuff, you should totally check it out when you're free. There's also the K-9 club - that's for dogs, my best friend Tybalt runs that, but they're a bunch of poops."

Silence, and then something odd happens. The world flips, the colours invert and then turn a strange orange and blue. You hear a noise, an odd echo, familiar voices, all ringing in your ears as something squeezes out from the colour in long spindly strings and forms a strange shape.
"Go back."
Without warning it lunges at you - and then the world breaks open into white.
VOOOOOM!
You're at the wheel, racing down a rainbow colored track. All around looks like a starry sky of sorts, only with some strange neon signs flickering here and there. What looks like a kappa drives up to your side with one hand on the wheel. The other hand looked like it held a turtle shell of sorts. He lobs it at you.
The images continue to assault you the strange other you continues to talk until everything fades to white again and the room is normal.
What just happened? OOC: THE DISTORTION MOB - Distortion mobs will influence the area around you, causing it to stand still. It immediately throws your character into a "mirror" scenario, basically an [ Alternate universe ] where your character was something else. Read the above prompt, and then write out a [ small drabble ] where your character belonged to that alternate universe. If you are in a PRP you may write out your part, and either INCLUDE the other person in your thread(s) as if they were PART of the PRP or both of you can write separate viewpoints. Just a quick response prompt in drabble form is fine before the distortion breaks. Just one post is good! AU PROMPT: You're in a magical go-kart race, and it seems like one of the other racers is trying to take you out! How you want to do this is up to each player as they can just have viewed different AU worlds. After your character experiences it, the illusion breaks and they are back where they are again., as if nothing has happened!

OMG-OMG-OMG-OMG-OM-GAWD. Fifi had never actually been allowed to drive a car and now she was careening wildly on a crazy rainbow racetrack. White-knuckling the steering wheel, she kept the gas pedal all the way to the floor and prayed that she wouldn’t kill herself and Ren. It seemed like the faster she went the less hits she took from the…. Being. Whatever the being was made her mad. It was nasty and a decided pain in the butt. Adrenaline, flowing fast and hard through her veins, made everything seem to slow down just a little bit. It was as if time had come to a crawl and she was going to be just fine. Yeah, a bit of confidence would go a long way. WHAM. Her scream was panic filled and that confidence retracted so fast if her head hadn’t already been spinning – it would be now. All the clichés in the world flashed through her mind and she stopped for a moment and realized that this hallucination was probably her own doing. She had released an extra strong cloud of hallucinogenic gas onto both of them right after he had said something about the cart racing. Ok…. So all she could do was ride it out. Feeling more comfortable she took her hands off the wheel and looked at Ren, “You wanna drive?”

He'd been talking with her and then all of a sudden -
"WOAH!" squealed Ren, the car veering sideways, and he felt suddenly as though he were driving a real, live Scario Kart, the rainbow colors zooming past the pair of them and making him slightly dizzy with the sheer volume and speed of them. And they were going faster and faster and faster until -
- they were back on the Amityville grounds. Ren stared around, landing with a small thump on the grass, his wings folding together against his back. Hands on his hips, he surveyed the area with a suspicious expression on his freckled face before turning back to look at Fi.
"Okay," he said, "that totally was not normal. What just happened? Was that a hallucination or what?"

Okay so what exactly had just happened.... She knew that her hallucinogenic gases were likely to attack at random if she wasn't in control of them. -- But normally she was immune to them? And by 'normally being immune' Fifi meant that she had never been affected before and had never heard of an essence demon being affected....
She looked at him guiltily and worried at her lip for a moment. "Well... I mean.. I can cause hallucinations, but as far as I know there's not any Essence Demons that have ever been affected by their own abilities...." Oh lord.. what if she was that much of a mess up? Her family was apparently correct.
Oh man, she had screwed up after what... ten whole minutes? "I understand if you don't want to give the tour now..."

Ren lifted his hands, waving them in front of himself. "No, no!" he said hastily. "No, please, you're fine! It happens to the best of us, we all make mistakes!"
He patted her shoulder consolingly.
"We can still continue the tour if you'd like!"

Fifi had really been expecting him to say that they were done with the tour now and her shoulders had hunched into themselves in expected dejection. When reassured that the tour could go on, Fi breathed a sigh of relief and gave Ren a grateful smile.
"So what else can you show me... I think I got a really good idea of what exactly the Scario Cart club would be like."
If everybody was this nice here, she might not get into trouble whenever her power ran away without herself. "I really don't ever want to leave this place, I hate that it's just a visit.... Living here must be paradise...."
