He really needed to get some more experience, on his own terms. No more waiting for people to point him out and beat him up. He was going to find his own sparring partner today!
Oh god.
He looked around, trying to look discreet and totally not creepy (spoiler: he probably failed) for someone who didn't look like they'd kill him. He paused on a festive looking girl in a trainee moon coat and made his move.
"Hi uhm, miss? You're a trainee right? Would you be interested in a spar? With me?"
That was four, count em, four question marks, people.

Riley needed to practice. I mean, she hadn't tried it yet, and honestly, she didn't know if she could hold her sword.
She then heard Feng call her miss.
As she turned around, she saw a guy looking around, and you know, he looked incredibly freaky doing it. Like he was checking people out. He wouldn't last in a fight with her.
She could squish him. Even if she was tiny.
"I'm a trainee, yes.. and a sparring partner? I guess it couldn't hurt.. Well I mean, it could, but unlikely."

That was probably meant to be a scathing insult to his abilities, but Feng was just relieved that she'd agreed. "It'll be good practice, I promise." He stepped back and swiped a finger down his lightning bolt necklace.
Shang's massive head formed heavily in on of Feng's hands, and his tail formed in the other. The thick chain rattled as it pooled to the ground. He waited with wide eyes for the other trainee to get ready.

She rolled her eyes and sighed, crossing her arms.
Yep. Come on buddy, let's do this. I'd like to have lunch in an hour.
The sword wasn't as heavy as she thought. She grabbed her chain and held it, the ball at the end swinging. The sword was huge.
"Badass." She said aloud.

Feng's eyes might have sparkled a little, because she totally thought his weapon was badass. At least, that was the way he chose to understand it.
He spun into motion, getting Shang into arcing swings that whistled through the air, before sending his tail sailing at the girl.
...And missing completely. Apparently he hadn't sparred enough recently. He was out of practice.

Riley jumped out of the way of the tail as it hurtled towards her. That thing was weird looking. It was like a giant chained dragon.
She blinked. He'd missed her. She had no experience in any of this, and he missed her.
This was going to be easy.
She then threw her ball, and the chain rattled along with it.
The ball collided with him.

The ball of her sword hit him in the shoulder, and it hurt a bit more than he anticipated. Which was sad, because he'd definitely been around longer than her. He should be better than this.
He swung Shang's head around this time and hurled it towards her, and he came a lot closer this time, but he was pretty sure he still didn't hit her.
I know man, shhh.

He still hadn't managed to hit her. She could say this because after throwing the head of this dragon thing? It was missing.
"I'll be upset if I come out of this battle without a single scratch.." She yelled at him. If she was going to battle, she'd atleast taunt him.
I know what I'm doing, Harlem. It's okay.
So maybe she didn't know what she was doing.
Still.
She ran at him and swung her blade, slipping a bit, but still managing to swing correctly.

Feng's whole face turned red, embarrassed that he kept missing. He didn't even have a good comeback because he was so flustered.

Riley rolled her eyes. This was getting annoying.
It's just not beneficial to my training..
She almost laughed when she saw the boy turn red, and then instantly felt bad. He was trying really hard. She huffed, and barely tossed her chain at him. Maybe it'd help him out..

Feng swung Shang hard, using more force than usual to get the weapon moving quickly. It seemed to work though, because for the first time he landed a hit.

Feng grunted in pain as the attack hit with incredible force. He was already getting tired, and he'd barely managed to do damage.

He used Shang's head like a projectile, going for as much damage as he could.

She was nearly knocked off her feet by the next hit of the guy's weapon.
"He kind of just stepped up his game, so it'll be a little difficult to just end it." She said aloud, without realizing.
She swung her sword and barely made contact with him.
