Armelle had been out traveling, like always. It was hard for her to set still. Maybe it was the fact she was running from her past, her memories and just herself in general. Still, she did do her best to enjoy herself. The day was long, and she did some good travels. Now, she was looking for a place to just rest herself a little. It was still some time before the sun went down, but she wanted to be prepared. Food, water, and of course a warm place to sleep.
She came into a nice clearing, gathering some grass, and other things she could eat on she would leave it to rest at the river side and took a nice spot under a tree to rest for a bit. "Food, water. It should not be to cold, so I think I am all set." She spoke to herself before giving a slight nod. yes, all set. She would snack a little at the grass, though tried to make sure she did not eat it all at once. Soon she would just relax and watch the river.
She could hear the water pick up further down stream, but here it was still somewhat calm, a few branches and such would flat by. She could even see a few fish pop out of the water feeding on the bugs. It was rather interesting to watch such life live the way it does.

 October was out looking for some things she and Oberon could eat for dinner. It had been a nice day, one she had enjoyed, and had wandered out of the shelter of the forest she and her mate called home. For her that was rare, but the day called for some running, even visiting with the Kowani two-leggers that she called family. She didn’t even mind that the silly little orange, yellow, and white mini was there playing with the young two-leggers as usual. She chuckled as she adjusted the sack the two-leggers had given her with some of the first spring fruit. She had unloaded the fruit already in the sanctuary where she and Oberon called home, and was now out finding something else to go along with dinner. Perhaps she would find some wild carrots or sweet potatoes? She knew this part of the woods always yielded more than was necessary for her and her mate, so finding something wasn’t supposed to be hard… As she reached the stream where she knew some wild grains grew, she stopped in her tracks as the scent of other soquili hit her nostrils. Being the cautionary soquili she was, she twitched her ears this way and that, trying to hear anything, and flared her nostrils trying to pick up any scent of death and malice. Skinwalkers were rare around here, she had made sure of that when she and Oberon had picked their territory, but not unheard of. Sensing that nothing was wrong, she followed the scent to the river’s edge and the clearing near there. She saw the black and soft pink mare there, and studied her for a while. She seemed to be doing nothing but resting. October stepped forward and approached the reeds by the water. “Hello.” She said smiling at the mare, “No need to worry, I’m just here for the wild grains by the water.” October studied the reeds, picked a few of the right ones, and placed them in the sack on her back. She smiled back at the mare and said, “Are you lost? Do you need any help with anything? My mate and I live around here so feel free to ask for any help.”Teepee

Armelle was relaxed, but not oblivious to what was going on around her. She had traveled enough to know to keep herself on guard. She had her run ins with danger. It was enough to always keep the normally soft sweet male on alert. She could hear the approach of something small, so she was not to worried. Most dangerous soq were much larger.
So, those eyes remained glues to watching the water ripple and move in that steady flow. Though, one the voice spoke up her ears perked and that head turned. Kind whiteish eyes would turn to the small female. She was slowly losing her sight, that soft color was milky, but she could still see well enough to travel, at time that was.
"Hello, I hope I am not bothering your lands. I am traveling." She spoke with a cheery kind voice, soft and optimistic. "I am only passing through, though though to rest here by the river for the night as not to bother anyone."
She normally did think of others first, it was who she was. Her brother raised her well, though before long she would need another to travel with her. At times it was hard to make things out from trees or tall grass like she used to.

October smiled as she listened to the pale marked mare. “No, no, my lands are fairly close to here, but this area is not part of what my mate and I claim as our own. We seldom get people in the area, and those that we do find are usually lost.” She stopped looking for grains and turned to the mare, “This is a fine spot is it not? Feel free to take your time here, it is safe from Skinwalkers and those who are of ill will.” She hesitated a bit and then said, “It was one of the reasons I settled here; to be close to nature, but far from those who cause trouble.”October looked around and thought how wonderful it was here. She loved the untouched parts of the forest. Every season here had its beauty. She closed her eyes and breathed in with her other senses. If she had had her way, she would have made her and Oberon’s home here, but he had made a good point that water attracts others. October opened her eyes and said, “May I ask what brings you to this part of the woods? I seldom find other’s to talk with in comfortable surroundings such as these.” She went back to looking for wild grains along the bank of the river. Perhaps there were some nuts nearby? October paused, and then looked over to the mare, “Do you have anything to eat? Food isn’t hard to find here, but I know of some areas that have berries or I can share these wild grains with you.”October just wanted to be a good neighbor, even if it was for such a short while. She hated to see lost or journeying Soquili without anything to take with them that could be of help later. She chuckled to herself; she was being as fussy the two-leggers were with the Soquili in their lands.

Armelle offered a soft smile She would almost close her eyes with that smile. It was good to meet someone so kind. She was normally not so lucky as to wonder into a place she would be welcomed, even for the short time she would be there.
"It is lovely, and I am sure makes for a lovely home. I myself live by the lake. Though I am never home as much as I should be I guess." She gave a soft laugh, her eyes opening once more as she glanced around for a moment. Though once she was spoken to again those eyes would again turn to the small mare. "At least this place is free of dangers."
"I am traveling actually. I spend a lot of time exploring." It was true, she spent almost all her time out exploring. She was actually on her way back home, taking the long way of course to get there, making sure to explore a new place along her way
"I have enough food, I got some of the dry grain. I might get up and look around for some berries though. It all depends on if I feel up for a sweet treat." She laughed softly, her tail flicking softly before she lowered her head slightly.
"So, you live here with your mate? How long have you two been here?" She figured without to much danger it is likely they were set for life here. There was often much dangers in the world, this mare had seen her fair share of them as well.

October walked out of the reeds and over near the mare. She could stay and chat; Oberon could take care of himself for a while! "We have been living here for about four springs," She said smiling, remembering the day they found their wooded home, "This is a blessing of a home for us. Both of us would rather be left alone from others who would cause trouble, and no one can find our actual lands without actually knowing where they are going, so it's a boon." She mentally sighed though since they both wanted to start a family, and it was harder than they thought! But she mentally shook herself, and once again smiled at the mare, "It's nice and quiet, and not to far from those two-leggers I trust.""I am glad you have enough food!" October laughed, "I would feel like I am neglecting a guest if you did not!" She smiled, "It is nice to find someone here exploring this little part of the world, at least one who is inclined to stay and let me chat a little."The only other mare she could talk to was the orange, yellow, and white mini that the two-leggers let live with them... It was hard to get a word in edgewise with that one, but she was a sweet girl so October spent some time with her when she had to go to the two-leggers. "Oh, you like exploring? You would like to meet a little mare I know of who loves to explore. Every time I see her she has some new tale to tell about some place she had lately explored." She chuckled thinking about her hyper friend. "She has enough adventures for a regular sized Soquili!"

Armelle had to admit having such a kind and well conversed mare around. It was often quite and lonely in her life, so it made her happy. She stayed quiet for a bit to allow the male to talk about her home, her mate. That was another thing Armelle had never experinced in her travles, love, but that was because she never let anyone in, to afraid to lose them like she had lost everyone else in her life.
As the mare talked she did space slightly, thinking on her past, and the very things she was running from, the reason she traveled. She allowed her eyes to lose that smile only for a moment before something the little mare says snaps her from her mind. She was never one to mock or dislike anone for their size. After all, she traveled with a water mini for a little while. They had so much energy and often some of the kindest you would meet.
"Oh? I will have to stop in and meet this mare some time and exchange stories and places to add to list of spots to explore in this world. Also it will help avoid dangers." Like the Kolana in the mountains that killed her friend and came after her. She still looks over her shoulder expecting that they found her.
"This is a lovely place and I am sure it makes a lot happy to live here. I have a human I stay with. the small tribe is along the lake side. She often braids my hair or keeps me cared for when I have time to stop and visit." She gave a soft calm laugh and half closed eyes pulled there with joy. "I am aslo expecting to meet someone new when I return."
"Have you or your mate ever been exploring?" She would ask in that curious nature she held. After all, she was always asking questions and looking to answer them.
