29 august 2021- we have a contest with some tribe freebies meaning these foxes are with eventide until it dissolves *which will be never
26 February 2021 - so eventide has new banners and I have updated the tribe members.
3 March 2020- so the shop has reopened and I am attempting to slowly revamp and restart the tribe

30 April 2014- Special project drop off. it was original just supposed to be for those who posted by the 28th but those who couldn't did keep up and tell me that they couldn't post. and I will never penalize for RL getting in the way.
08-16 April 2014- *did not make official tribe with the rush through but I have some of the best foxes ever in this tribe so I'm thrilled with the start of my tribe* With the tribe games going on centime now has at least one fox of every rank, a huge thanks to silver for not only having the fist fox to join the tribe but filling in the other empty slots. Special project announced.

About Eventide:

There are those who cannot stand the sun’s light directly. There are those who can tolerate it but in truth are creatures of the night. The moon may be beautiful but moonless nights are far more beautiful still to them. This tribe is home to those who feel the soft embrace of night and shadows like a kiss.

The tribe more nocturnal in nature than other tribes which does make them a bit strange to most. They do worship the night after all. The symbol is that of the owl as even though they worship the night they still accept the day which is important to the land around them. Still a day watch is around to welcome visitors as well as hunting and gathering are tasks easier done during the day. This duality in life makes the tribe very different then others. The day might well be the best time to visit if there is any hint of fear about things that go bump in the night. While the tribe does not condone senseless violence it does understand the need to survive and a few of the members are of a vampiric/other nature.

They worship the night as they feel safe by it for most members of the tribe and maintain vigils of memory every new moon. They know the daylight is important to the land around them. Even foxes who aren’t particularly devoted to the deity are encouraged to join as it’s good to bond as a tribe. The laws of the tribe are simple as there is no need to make things complex when the world is harsh and dangerous enough as it is. The young and weak of the tribe are protected as is the land as it’s unclear if they left if they could find another home as nice.

The tribe has two shamans to handle issues one deals with those who live in the sun and daylight since there are tasks like hunting and gathering that are easier in the light. At twilight the foxes met the night shaman who is in charge of the evening duties as there are some things easier to gather at night and of course guarding and patrolling. The elder can be up at all hours day or night, though he is restricted to the cave during the day.

While there is a leader in the tribe they are unable to deal with things in the light of day as such the Shamans who lead day and night shift hold the most sway in the absence of the tribe leader. They are expected to deal with matters as they appear.

Kits in the tribe are taught to be self sufficient at a young age but encouraged to be in sight of a guardian or carer at all times. Those who decide to wander off find themselves under guarded watch and unable to obtain any special gifts if extra treats are found or made. Because of this strict but fair policy the kits tend to grow up happy and well rounded if a bit stubborn.

The rest of the tribe tends to be quite close given the fact that they have a home and belonging here. there can be some tension between the day and night groups within the tribe but for the most part they get along well enough that is no issue. It helps that they can compete against one another if they so choose in contests and try to best one another.

The rules for the tribe are quite simple. Do not steal from your fellow tribe members. Do not kill your fellow tribe members. If blood is needed for survival only willingly given may be taken unless it’s things like rabbit or deer. Protect the kits and weaker members of the tribe. Protect our home/tribe as there may be no telling if they can find another. Warn the tribe or send notice of strangers as after all not all strangers are safe and some may even cause harm to the tribe. Those who are passing through can be escorted but random foxes just showing up and deciding to live on the tribe lands without joining will not be tolerated as the tribe is growing and doesn’t need competition for food when they get larger.

The breaking of these rules will be dealt with on a case by case basis as stealing a treat is not the same as murdering a tribe member so obviously would need different punishments. The depraved are frowned upon however as long as they do not do harm to the tribe they are allowed in. Violence against other tribe members will result in punishment and/or banishment.

The tribal land is a mix of forest and caves. The land itself is rather flat and there are stretches that resemble more plains than anything else. Game is plentiful so far though the cave systems are not well explored yet as such there are limited places to go until such time as they have been fully cleaned out.

Outsiders should be identified and the tribe told about them right away as the tribe needs to be protected. Those passing through can be escorted but those squatting on the land are not looked on well as again this is the tribe’s home and they will defend it. Outsiders aren’t feared but treated with caution.

Events of the year:

New year- On the first night of the new year the tribe comes together and tells stories of the past year. The good and the bad. Those met and those lost. Together they share hope for the next year.

Spring Festival- On the first day of spring the kits are all encouraged to go out in a large group and gather flowers in the evening when the sunlight is waning. In a few places there are treats hidden in that they can enjoy. This is closely supervised. The caves are cleaned out at this time by another group.

Warm Eventide- June 15 on this night the tribe cleans out their caves making sure the nice cool caves are safe to rest in for the summer. This is the group that watched the kits for the Spring festival and those who cleaned for the Spring Festival are allowed to go play with the kits and rest.

Harvest Festival- On the first day of autumn everyone goes out and gathers fruits and nuts and anything they can store in the caves for the coming winter.

Winter Dreams- in the winter the tribe comes together to share little stashes they have horded during the fall with one another. It can be a time of surprises and joys in the midst of the cold outside.

Eventide prayers- every single new moon the elder spends the night in prayer to the deity of the tribe. During this time all who wish are welcome to come stand vigil with him. Bear in mind he is of a vampiric nature so once vigil is at it's end when the first stroke of sunlight reaches the grove the tribe leader will be rushing back to the caves. Quickly. Please don't stand in his way.

Ion and Seth had been traveling for a long time together. Asta was coming later though as she had other matters to attend before leaving. They had to travel in the night due to Ion’s inability to tolerate the sun. The pair had found a nice set of caves to hide from the light and choose to say. Seth had gone out hunting all day long so when she drifted to sleep Ion only smiled at her and decided that letting her sleep would be for the best.

He left the cave to view the stars and moon. The sky was moonless which made Ion depressed. He could never see the light of sun directly and the moon was a gentle balm to him in that regard. Shaking his head he decided not to dwell on the impossible. The soft glint of stares barely gave even him enough light to see by and being a creature of the night he was used to less light than most. It was a comfortable solemn time that let him heal his soul and rest his body.

He passed through the forest which was silent as though all there were dreaming save him. It was more than a little unnerving to the fox as the only time one hears true silence in a forest is when there is something scary on the prowl. This area was new to him so the local wildlife should not fear him so. Licking his fangs he felt a growing unease. Wanting to flee, it would horrible to lead whatever gave him this feeling straight to Seth. The hairs on the base of his neck were raised all the way and looking around gave him no target to vent on. Starring into the dark around him he called out several times asking who was there. Nothing replied.

A part of him wanted to laugh it off. Say it was nothing and that he was simply being foolish. Yet the feeling persisted and only grew worse. Unable to bear it more he blindly darted forward covering as much ground as he could. The only sounds in the night around him were those of his own momentum. It only made the night seem more dangerous to hear all the snapping and crunching of twigs, branches and anything else that got in his way.

Being unfortunate enough to trip when he started to grow weary he clamored up as quick as he could. Spinning around he cursed to himself and called out knowing this was here he must make his stand or live in fear. “I don’t fear thee I am a creature of the night! Come and face me here!”

‘You stand in my glade and claim to be a creature of the night. How amusing. ..I am Nacht and if you are as you say then you are welcome here. Make it a home for those like you and others while not like you are also children of mine. This night is only as terrifying as you let it be....’ With that the terrifying presence changed and was gentle as a summer wind. Small frogs could be heard chirping once more. in the distance an owl let out a call. There were many aspects of the night that came alive once more. Ion could feel it in his very being.

The presence was gone and Ion was lost. He curled up in the edge of the glade until Seth found him and took him back to the caves before the first light of dawn. He told her all he had heard and to her credit she didn’t laugh. “So this will be our home? I hope the hunting stays good.” Ion had no idea how she could be so happy and care free about it all but he supposed she was right. Laughing he agreed with her and began planning where others should sleep if they came.


-History update since the founding-
Foxes have come over time to join and a fair number have trouble with sunlight or have been abandoned by life. In time a guardian has come to live with them though it seems rather young and the tribe elder Ion doesn’t see the point of having a guardian when the foxes have remained as independent and self sufficient as they always have. Still the tribe guardian stays and no one has really questioned or been bothered by it. The smaller members of the tribe have used it as a playground of sorts or ordered it around as extra help with things. Members have come and gone over time with little change in the tribe as the tribe has become more filled out it has given rise to a full day and night shift set of foxes, not only that but several members of the tribe have had children and one fox even came back with a full family of foxes making the tribe even larger.

Plains- The lands surrounding the forest the tribe lives in are large and flat. Gentle hills are the only change in the landscape for as far as the eye can see. There is a small lake to the north east with a small river that cuts down through the plains

Forest- The edge of the forest is lush and full of brush. Inside of the forest it is thinner but still flourishing. There is an abundance of game which is moving day and night.

Caves- The inside of the caves are vast and much of it remains unexplored by the tribe. In time perhaps they will have the power to explore safely, but for now they are safe and content. The secondary entrance to the cave system the tribe uses is unique making it a popular place to show visitors.

Grove- This is the place of the elder’s vigil. He prays on nights of the new moon from sunset until the next day’s light reaches the grove before being forced to retreat to the caves once more. Others are welcome to join him if they wish it.

The tribes marking is that of an owl as it seems a fitting representation of the night. They can be active in the day but the night is their true home.

This is the symbol of the tribe it is most often seen as a tattoo of any color, however it can be worn as a piece of jewelry which is usually silver, but can be other metals.

Tribe Elder: The one in charge who leads the tribe and has the final say in all decisions and choices. He tries his best to lead the tribe to prosper and continue being safe. The current leader is of a vampiric nature so for matters during the day that need tending to he is heavily reliant on the day shift shaman to assist him.


Guardians: Sent by the deities themselves to walk the land all guardians are welcome to join the tribe as long as they will not bring harm and violence with them. Guardians are not restricted to day or night shift and are more or less allowed to venture as they desire as it's not understood if they are on a mission from the deities or not.


Shamans: Second in command to the tribe elder the shamans handle most daily affairs. One is in charge the day foxes and another is in charge of the night foxes. They have control over small magic’s and help organize events and festivals. Right now Seth is handling the day shaman duties but both shaman positions need to be filled as the tribe grows.

Carers: Take care of the wounded or those who have been feed on. Also in charge of care of kits until they are old enough to pick a tribal position to be trained in. In the event of an attack on the tribe the carers are expected to gather the kits and weak back to the caves and form a defense which they are in charge of.



Hunters:They supply the meat for the tribe.


Scouts: Range the land and caves keeping them safe as well as act as hosts should visitors come to the tribe


Gatherers: Bring nuts, foliage, and any other none prey related items the tribe needs.


Members: Fill in where needed in the above tasks.





Normal hours for the tribe foxes. After all not everyone in the tribe is a nocturnal creature. So here is the general times you would catch folks up and about.

Relationships with those outside of the tribe must be handled carefully. Due to the nature of the tribe being split into day and night shifts it would be easy to sneak off and have an affair though that is mildly frowned on. Ion is fairly easy going and accepting so as long as he meets the outsider party he will likely be alright with it as long as he gets a chance to warn them that breaking the hearts of his tribe members might result in a permanent banning from tribal grounds.
