Once Sin had lead Xavier away from all the ruckus of guests and gnomes and students she paused. True she hadn't exactly planned on spending today as a tour guide but her manners...and the nagging of gnomes had won out. She could always catch up with her friends and ask them about strange dreams later. Re-focusing on the reaper boil she motioned with her hand to the grounds.
"Well now then, why don't you tell me a bit about yourself and we'll head to the Creepateria first. Rule number one is to be very polite to our Lunchlady Ginger and try not to ingest too much of her cooking unless you have a very strong stomach."
She laughed and flicked her hair back half joking half serious, she personally tended to get her food off-campus or make it herself. Oh a Jollymeal was fine if she was in a rush, but she'd seen those things crawl away if left under a heat lamp too long.

Xavier followed Sin as they made their way through the school. He tilted his head a bit at the warning the succubus dropped regarding the food here.
"My parents own a ranch a far ways from here. I'm not really looking for a farm life so I'm checking out this school to see what it has to offer," he explained while looking about, "Is... the food here really that bad? Or is there something else to it?"

"A ranch hmm? That sounds...quaint. Minipets?"
She walked them up and into the Creepateria then glanced at him with a wry smile.
"Like I said it can just be an acquired taste, why don't you try something? My treat."
The succubus waited for Xavier to get himself something to eat and grabbed them some seats. Food was a pretty vital part of living on campus either learning to eat what the Creepateria offered or learning where to get your own.
"Amity is an amazing school we have some of the best professors HallowenTown has to offer. Field trips are fairly regular and the class variety is better than what you'll find most places. So, Xavier are you just looking to come to school until you take over your parents ranch or...?"

Xavier nodded at the first question. He looked around the creepateria for a bit.
"Hm? Really? Oh, thank you," he smiled while going ahead and grabbing a jolly meal. He wasn't really sure WHAT he grabbed but surprises were nice in life sometimes. Once he had that, he made his way over to the table with Sin.
"Yeah, that's what I've heard. And... no. I was hoping I wouldn't have to take over. I want to do something else with my life. I just don't know what, yet."

Sin could understand what the boil meant about not knowing, but at least he knew that he was looking for something in life. She had been certain that her only purpose at Amity was to graduate and return to a cushioned lifestyle of demonic politics and parties.
"Well the school offers guidance counselors but truth be told I've figured out more about my strengths and weaknesses during field trips and by getting hands on in class."
She fiddled a moment with a straw before dropping it and looking back up at him.
"So anything you'd like to see in particular? We have a pretty awesome lake if your into swimming, and a lot of students take their minipets for walks around the dorms. You'd be in reaper dorms...I'm not familiar with them but I've never heard any of my friends complain. Let's see there's the gym if your into working out and stuff...you name your interest and we've probably got it, and if we don't the Maul usually does."
She laughed a little, no doubt the poor boil did not want to be dragged off to the mall by a fashion loving ghoul.

"Well, that should help then! I hope," he started while opening up his bag to see what was inside. It looked like worms. Well... it looked.. edible still. At least. Maybe. If he got sick later, he'd have an idea why. Picking one out, he went ahead and gave it a try. It wasn't.. horrible.
"I'm sure I'll figure something out. Eventually."
With a shrug, Xavier soon thought about what he'd like to see. It was a good question, really. He only had a vague idea of what this place had to offer and now that he was visiting, he wasn't entirely certain where to start from here.
"Good question. What's your favorite place on campus? Maybe we can start from there."

She watched him sample some of the Jollymeal, he didn't seem to mind the taste and that boded well. She had to hand it to boil he was fairly confident that things would work out for him. Her own confidences had been stripped away and replaced by fears of the future, especially after her nightmare. Perhaps though she simply hadn't had much confidence to begin with and Amity had merely sanded away the veneer to allow her to see that. To the outside she kept her mask in place and even smiling at the boil across from her she felt a tangle of concerns inside.
"You know...coming to school and leaving home behind is a pretty big thing even though we don't really see it that way sometimes. I mean...what I mean I guess is that Amity has a way of becoming like home and your fellow students start to feel like family after a while."
She looked at him and then forced a laugh, whoops she'd let her inner musings leak.
"Sorry I know that probably just sounds like sappy stuff, I promise I'm not trying to woo you into coming to our school. If you like it then it's right for you."
She thought a moment about his question, her favorite place on campus? Well that was sort of tough considering the answer was her dorm room.
"I actually like hanging around the demon dorms, but since I don't intend to give you a tour of my bedroom we'll go for my second favorite...the library."
Standing she smoothed her dress and flicked an errant strand of pink back over her shoulder. Sin always tried to look her best even when she felt frazzled on the inside there was no reason to show it on the outside.

"Yeah. It is. Which is kinda why I'm here to check the place out before applying," Xavier replied before laughing lightly, "Nah, you're fine."
Finishing with his fried worms, he wiped his hands on a napkin then stood on up.
"Alright. Let's check out the library, then?"
He didn't mind libraries too much. They were chock full of information. There was always hidden things to find out in archives and the like. At least, that was what he figured.

"So what do your parents think of you checking out Amity?"
She had to wonder if the reaper community or other HalloweenTown citizens were concerned about the school and strange happenings. Things had been kept pretty under wraps, but some things just couldn't be concealed. Her own parents still held the threat of pulling her out of school, which was why finding her own path was so vital now.
"I only ask because my parents are pretty overprotective, if it were up to them I'd just finish my schooling at home."
As they walked towards the library she wondered if she shouldn't warn the boil...it wasn't that Amity was horribly dangerous, it was just quirky. There were books that could lead you into trouble, the threat of detention wasn't as frightening as things seen in the forest sometimes, and when the school gates were attacked by shadows...no no no. She wasn't going to bring up any of that, some of it felt like a distant and terrible dream to her. There was no need to frighten new students, or potential students away.

"To be honest, I think they're hoping I won't like it here," he admitted while scratching his head. They had heard a few rumors regarding the school, but it was still considered to be the best of the best as far as he knew. Xavier figured it couldn't hurt to check things out either way.
"They do hope that I'd want to take up the ranch, but I'm glad they aren't trying to shove that down my throat. You know?"

She wished she knew what that was like, to have her parents step back and not shove their desire for her future down her throat. Then again maybe without that driving force behind her she would just be a useless shell.
"Must be nice...if you don't mind my asking, that is I hope you don't think me rude but why don't you want to take up minipet ranching? I mean it's your family business?"
She walked them up the steps and walked into the library lowering her voice to a hushed whisper.
"We have a lot of helpful reference material here, the dorms have common areas for studying but this is much quieter..."

Xavier let out a light sigh at that, scratching his head.
"Well, it's not a bad thing to take up. It's a little hard to explain, but that's just not a passion of mine. I love the minis, don't get me wrong. I just can't see myself tending to them for the rest of my life. Call it a gut feeling but I think there's something else out there for me. I just haven't found my true calling yet."
He peeked into the library before stepping in. And for a moment, he had to stop and just stare around at the sheer volume of books all over the place.
"Woah.. how do you find anything in here?"

It made sense enough, he didn't quite feel his familial calling to minipet ranching. Well hopefully he would find his true calling soon enough, maybe even here at school if the acceptance bin was feeling generous.
Keeping her voice hushed she smirked at him amused by the way he stared at the rows of shelves.
"Card catalog"

"Even with that, I think it'd take awhile to find what you're looking for," he commented, moving further in. Any sort of cataloging for this had to be massive in its own right. Idly, Xavier glanced over a few of the books that were closest to him.
He spotted a few books for magic, some on history, and a great deal of other things.

Sin let the boy explore the books and look over the wide variety the library had to offer. She followed him along down the aisles being careful not to bump the shelves with her wings.
"You learn over time and sometimes exploring for what you need helps you find all kinds of interesting information."
She kept her voice low, this was a library after all. It was pleasing to see the library through fresh eyes, like when she came with Julian to study and he hopped around pulling out books she never would have given a second look.
"So, what else might you like to see?"
