I would like *one* person to join this RP, please!
Once joined, I will close it out as a private RP. Thank you!

ICly, the setting is AFTER the event, so the Drought, Fire, and Flood that happened within the Soquili lands has JUST happened. Please refer to the setting accordingly. Thank you!

Once-light hooves trudged through dark, wet mud. The area surrounding Calla terrified him. Once-thriving trees were nothing more than charred hulls of what they used to be. Nothing there seemed to be moving. There was no breath, no chittering squirrels, no singing birds. No life. His heart sank as he thought about all of the creatures who had lost their homes. He also worried about what may happen to the forest now that the plants were gone. This was spring, the time of the year for new life and new beginnings. Not this. Nobody deserved this. He sighed, and wondered if any lives had been lost.
Calla was lucky enough to have been travelling in the desert at the time of the fire and the flood, but he was around for the drought. He had met up with a friend who desperately wanted to explore, and Calla had never been to the desert before. Not surprisingly, he found it too hot and too void of life. He loved life too much to stay there. Especially the trees and the flowers. But that was all gone now. He was just thankful that he wasn't gone, too.
The smell of char and soot was still overwhelming, even after the storm that had ensued. The mixture of ash and water in his lungs made him feel sick to his stomach, but he pressed on. He needed to find his family in this great big mess.

There were times where simply one individual just could not win. A sound of disappointed echoed in the still air as a green colored mare surveyed the destruction that had been wrought by the spirits. A single flower was clamped in her mouth as she tutted around the plant before feeling an overwhelming sense of loss. The vista around her was scorched black. It seemed as if everything had died when the flames had scoured the land. All one could say if they saw the destruction was that they had survived. Eiryn's eyes scanned the ground looking for any other sign that life still lay dormant under her hooves. How cruel would it have been if she had flown this great distance only to experience this vast land wasted by fire.

Eiryn's hooves made a squelching sound in the mud as she turned around in a complete circle before resignation set in. This was no place to build a new home, was it? However despaired she was though, in her heart she knew that things would improve. Perhaps I shall wait and see what becomes of this place. Fire is known as a great cleanser of the earth. The land will heal itself and be more beautiful than before.

To prove her point the mare scuffed the ground with her front hoof and dug through the layer of mud and scorched earth before finding untouched soil underneath. It was dry but that couldn't be helped. Lowering her head the mare dropped her last flower gently into place. It wouldn't have lasted long being plucked from a healthier tract of land but perhaps it would brighten someone's day.

Pale nostrils flared and ears twitched at the feeling of another presence. He could smell something that was out of place amid the dampness and desolation. After a few moments, Calla followed the scent. It took him only a few moments to notice a bright flash of green through the blackened foliage, and he couldn't help but smile at the act he was seeing.

Flowers were beyond Calla's favorite thing in the entire land. His mother was obsessed with them, and he inherited it with joy. They were beautiful and sweet; their scent was always wonderful but never the same between different plants. They were mysterious, and yet they were certain. He knew, somehow, they would always be there. They would never fail him. Today, they came in the form of a mare.

In an attempt to alert her of his presence, but not to scare her, he cleared his throat a bit. "Uh... Hello."

At first Eiryn was so engrossed in her task that she did not realize that she was being watched. The mare eyed the flower that she had dropped into the small hole that she had created wishing simply that it would take root and grow. It wouldn't happen but one could hope. At the sound of a voice though the mare spun around.

It was clear in her reaction that Eiryn had been surprised. Her wings caught the air as she jumped into the air before her gaze caught sight of another Soquili. It was from this stallion that the greeting must have come from. Realizing that she was still hovering above the ground Eiryn leaned forward and touched down back into the mud. Her hooves squelched as they sunk into the viscous material as she turned to face the stranger.

Her eyes appraised the stallion before she found her voice. The words came out a little breathless as she calmed her nerves, "Hello there. You startled me."

He smiled politely at the mare and bowed his head. "I'm very sorry to have caught you by surprise like that. I tried not to." For a moment, Calla admired the flower. "It's lovely. A little ray of hope in all this." He sighed as he thought about how the flowers wouldn't bloom this year. Or at least, not any time soon. He would have loved to travel to find some flowers, but this was his home and he'd yet to find his family in the wreckage.

"My name is Calla. My family has a teepee not far from here." The stallion thought for a moment. "Well. They did. There's nothing of it, now." He wondered if they'd gone to find the Kawani village to see if they could find a two-legger to help rebuild it. "Were you close? When the storm hit?"

Eiryn listened to the stallion's words and appraised him as he spoke. His coloration was eerily a lighter shade of green than she was. How strange that he seemed to also possess some angeni traits as well. Eiryn cleared her throat in response to the question asked of her before giving the land around her a second look. Her gaze returned to the stallion as he spoke of losing the home that his family had possessed in the area.

"In response to you question I was not close when the storm hit. It must have been terrible though. Looking around I feel that the storm was a mixed blessing. You needed the rain but not what came along with it. Am I right?"

Eiryn gave a quiet sigh before realizing that she had not given this stranger her name in reply. "I apologize Calla. My name is Eiryn. Would you like one of my flowers?"

The stallion listened politely as the green mare spoke, smiling softly as he always seemed to do. Her deep blue hair reminded him of one of the calmer, deeper rivers not far from where he had lived before the storm. For a moment he reminisced before replying to the other halfbreed and shaking his head. "I am not sure of the circumstances. I was travelling in the desert at the time and had just come home to check on my parents before heading out again. This time I was thinking about going to the ocean. I hear it is a lovely place. I can't imagine that the fires got that far, either. Maybe once I find everyone I'll still take that trip. It's a lovely time of the year, usually, and I'd stay, but I'm unsure that I can now." He frowned a bit, but his half-smile returned within a few moments as he listened to the blue and green mare once more.

He allowed his smile to grow at the introduction and gift offering. "It is as nice a time to meet new people as any, I suppose." Calla grinned. "It is lovely to meet you, Eiryn." The pale colored mutt of a stallion looked at the flowers tucked neatly into the mare's mane and tail and shook his head politely. "No, thank you. I'm afraid you may not find more for quite some time, or at least not around here." He offered a playful smile. "Besides, purple is not quite my color. It's certainly more suited to you. You should keep them close as a reminder that not everything is always so bad around here, anyway. This probably isn't the best thing to stumble upon on a nice spring morning. Are you from here or did you just come up to it on your travels?"
