Morning Glory waited by the door to Crown Cup, fidgeting nervously. The sun was warm even though the breeze was still cool. Spring was finally well on it's way. Glory was glad, the winter had been overly long and students paid much less attention while day dreaming of frolicking in the snow. Of course now they'd just be daydreaming of frolicking in the grass. Glory looked up and down the street that crossed in front of the cafe. Maybe Hyd wouldn't come. This was his busy time after all, with things starting to bloom and needing plenty of attention. Or maybe she just hoped he wouldn't come because she had no idea what to talk about or what she was even doing here. "This is stupid.." she muttered to herself. "He's FP's ex, I shouldn't even be entertaining the idea..."

His old teacher was the last person Hydrangea ever thought he'd take out on some kind of... date.. outing... get together? Mostly because he thought she'd never be into a plain guy like her, not to mention a former student. He had always thought her beautiful since the first time he met her as a foal but.... his heart had went another direction. At least for a little while. But the past was the past and he had a lovely lady to meet! Pull it together Hyd, its not like she's a stranger.... he mentally repeated to himself, constantly checking to make sure the flower arrangement he was levitating didn't bump into anyone or anything. As he rounded the corner to the cafe, he hesitated a moment. Oooh man she was here! Why was he so suddenly nervous? Clearing his throat, he walked over casually so as to not startle her. "Hello Mi.. Ah Glory! I.. brought these for you." he smiled, floating over the flower arrangement, consisting of a few sprigs of lavender, white lilies and of course flowers of her namesake, tied together with a pale yellow bow... of which he thought it lent a nice touch.

Glory perked up when she saw Hyd and blushed when he floated the flowers over to her. It was on the tip of her tongue to ask the stallion how he knew Morning Glories were here favorite flower, but fortunately it struck her quite quickly how stupid it was to ask it. She caught up the flowers in her own magic and brought them to her nose. The lilies were fresh and still had some water on them that sprinkled her nose, and the lavender smelled wonderful. Her gemstone eyes sparkled in delight that he'd brought her flowers. "I must glean from you the secrets for Morning Glories.." she said, "These are such a beautiful shade, I don't think I've ever achieved this level of colour. The rest of them are so beautiful too! Thank you Hydrangea." She leaned up and touched noses with him, giving him a tiny, soft rub. Blushing she rocked back onto her hooves. "S..shall we go inside..?"

Hyd watched pleasantly, and with a little bit on inner child like glee, as she received the flowers so warmly. It always made him feel good to hear praise over his flowers or his choices, but lately even more so, especially since he had hoped to impress her with his choices at the very least. Blushing a fair bit on his own at the tiny nose rub, he smiled, trying to find his words. "I will be happy to share any secrets I have with you, you are most welcome Glory." he nodded, simply watching her for a moment in a slight day dream before snapping back to reality. "Ah yes, after you, please!" he grinned, trotting forward a bit to hold the door open for her and let her pass first. Part of him wondered what Lullaby would say if he saw him now!

Glory passed through the door of the cafe, flowers held onto by magic and waited for Hyd to join her. The smell of coffee was strong, but not over powering. The barista behind the counter nodded at Glory with a smile. The unicorn mare waved to him and pointed at the corner table near the window where she often sat. The barista nodded again and she turned, pointing her hoof. "That's the table I usually sit at when I'm here, is it ok for you?"

Watching as Glory proceeded on in, he followed behind her, taking in the sweet aroma of coffee. He didn't visit this place often, almost rarely in fact, so each time the smell was a welcome blast to his nose. Something different from his flowers. He smiled as Glory seemed to know the workers here, even had her usual table by the looks of it. "Quite alright with me." he nodded, heading over to the table but waited for her to seat herself first, so he could help if need be.

Glory slipped quite easily into the the chair that was against the wall and sat. This was her chair, her spot. If she was alone, she'd watch the people and phony walk by the cafe, occasionally waving at some phony and nursing a cup of coffee. If Spica was with her or Royal was working, she'd chat with them and have cake. This would be different. This time it wasn't a empty chair or her best girlfriend. This time it was with a stallion. A handsome, kind stallion and she wasn't sure what to do or what to talk about. A magenta filly with black tipped wings popped up by the table, putting menus in front of her and Hyd, holding a tiny note pad. "Everything here is good." she would know, she's had just about everything. "I'll have a piece of Walnut Spice Cake and a cup of coffee, two sugars with cream." Both girls looked over a Hyd, wondering what he'd order.

Hyd had waited to help her into his seat, trying to remember all those manners and things his mom had taught him, or possibly what he'd think Lullaby would do. Once she seemed comfortable, he took the seat across from her, unsure what to say or do. He glanced around at the place before a menu appeared in front of him, thanks to a magenta colored filly he remembered meeting once. Smiling and nodding his thanks, he perused through the menu. "I'll have a Caramel Macchiato and a slice of Banana Walnut Bread please." he said before looking up to the pair of them staring at him, his cheeks turning a warm pink. Gently tapping his hooves together, the green unicorn was at a lost for topic of conversation. "Its a.. ah.. very nice place here!"

The filly pegasus took the menus and tucked them under her arm and went counter to put their order in. "Oh, yes it is." Glory's cheeks were pink. "It's fairly new, only opened last fall or so. I know a lot of the phony who work here and who own it so I come here often. Maybe if you really like it you will come here a lot too." A little silence fell and Glory chewed her bottom lip a bit in though. "So you don't..think this is weird..I mean..us here having coffee.." she brushed some of her mane behind her ear. "I mean uhm, I always thought it would be bad if I was attracted to one of my former students.." she sort of trailed off, her blush getting warmer, becoming very uncharacteristically shy.

"I could tell, you seem to be popular here!" he chuckled a bit, watching his menu go before glancing back over to Glory. Her cheeks looked about as bright and as hot as his own felt. He was positive though that it looked much more cuter on her than on him. So he tried to ignore the sensation. "I don't see why I wouldn't, I mean, now that I know about it. I'm sure I'd come back." he smiled and nodded. He shuffled his hooves together silently a bit during the slight pause in conversation, eyes darting about the cafe in attempts to not be rude and caught staring, that is until her voice seemed to pull him back to reality. "Hmm? Oh, well...It's just... coffee right now. I mean... unless you wanted more then I..." he paused, unsure how to go on. Her last statement also made him feel both awesome and scared. WAS she attracted to him? Or was he reading too much into this? And if she was, did she not want to be? Was it something he did, or maybe he was getting in the way of her career? "I don't.. know much about. teaching and.. students.. and relationships... but...would it really be.. that bad? If it made you happy...." he asked curiously, staring at her with wide orange eyes.

Glory blushed and smiled shyly. "You might make me happy.." she said softly. "It's just..I'm always worried about being attracted or dating my former students because..I wasn't sure if they could see me as just Glory, a regular mare with regular wants and needs and not Miss Glory who pushed them to redo their math problems or made them try to levitate a feather over and over again."Shuffling anxiously, she levitated the flowers over to herself, smelling them again. 'I'm sorry that just popped out right at the start. It just..it's something that really scares me. And now here I am with a handsome stallion who I just so happen to have taught in his youth and I'm afraid.." she stopped for a second. "I'm afraid to start getting attached just for you to be weirded out and you leave.." She peeked out at Hyd from between some of the flowers.

Astraea Pandora Sorry about the wait, Wedding craziness distracted me! Hyd simply listened to her, watching what she did and how she spoke. He could see her point. At least, it made sense to him anyways. Though his thoughts had been somewhat of the opposite. "I.. always thought you were really beautiful... even back when you taught me. But I told myself you'd never want a silly foal like me." he said with a half laugh, fighting back the embarrassment. "And then I grew up and... I thought well maybe now? Would I even stand out? But then there was FP, and for a while I was happy, but well... ya know." he shrugged. The ending of that was obvious. He still had fond memories of the other stallion but being a secret wasn't what the green unicorn wanted. He knew that now, even though he couldn't fully blame FP. Parts of it was his fault too. PL showed him that, and helped him, in her own forceful way that is... Shaking his head, he pushed all that out of the way. Today was about her, making her smile. Or at least that's what he promised he would do. So when she took the flowers again to smell them, peeking shyly out between the petals and leaves, he couldn't help but just beam. "I cam promise you the last thing I'd be is weirded out by you Morning Glory. And I certainly don't think I'd leave." he chuckled, pausing to think. "I feel I've learned what mistakes I made before. I wont make them again." he said firmly, more as a promise than anything.

Glory felt a tiny flitter in her chest. "Well you are most certainly not the little colt who I taught all those years back. It really seems like another lifetime ago now, looking at you." She put the flowers back down and leaned her chin on her hooves, giving Hyd an appraising once over with her jeweled eyes. The crimson filly appeared, very carefully balancing a large tray with the drinks and treats on them. Her face was full of concentration as she focused on keeping the tray level while setting down cups of hot beverages. She audibly exhaled once she managed to put the items down without spilling or dropping anything before turning away with a tiny smile. Glory picked up her fork with her magic, stole a bite of Hyd's cake, smiling. "Well then, I suppose we should talk about the things we like if we're going to be dating regularly.." her eyes twinkled.

Smiling, Hyd was lost in her twinkling eyes, he didn't at all mind if she took a bite of his cake. Rather, it made him laugh a bit and he had to collect himself before taking a sip of his drink. "Well... I think mine are a little more obvious... flowers, landscaping... styling manes from time to time." he says with a soft laugh, using his magic to lower his cup back down to the table. Memories of Lullaby letting him mess around with his hair, or his mom sleepily brushing his own danced around in his head until he shook them away. He wondered if Glory would let him play with hers sometime. The feeling was always very soothing to him, especially when he was upset, and the thought of cuddling her and brushing out her mane crossed his mind a few times in class.... "I think ladies should go first though." he said with a grin. "So I can make sure I take you on only the best of the best dates." he smiled, using his magic to pick up his fork and steal a bite from her cake this time.

Glory blushed a little. "Well..I like coming here.." she started off weakly, trying to fan her blush down with her hoof. "I also like just being outside and window shopping when the evening weather is nice. I'm cooped up inside a lot between teaching and grading and lesson plans, I like to go out and walk outside as much as I can." She took a few bites of her cake and thought. It was hard to come up with many things because her life had pretty much revolved around her job and she didn't think too much of herself anymore...unless she was drunk. "I think I'd like to go to dinner maybe..or out to the shore..?" she looked up at him sheepishly. "Honestly, I have been so wrapped up in my career since I was old enough and I've never been on a date before so, I'm not sure what else I'd like to do. I sort of thought I would just be a old spinster." she chuckled, embarrassed.
