Sauron popped his head into one of the many healing tents, this particular one however housed his Kelina. She was healing well, he still felt guilty, he would take her pain if he could but he had not even been touched during the battle proving his incredible luck. She however had been thrashed properly. He still remembered standing over her and having a black hole form where his heart had been when he had thought she hadn't made it, then he saw her chest moving and proceeded to wait for help to come to her. His poor Kelina, he wanted no more then to curl up on the bed with her and comfort and support her all he could but if he tried that there would be no end of glares from the healers. Well when she could be discharged he would get to cuddle and dote upon her darn it. This propriety was ridiculous. He didn't like it one little bit. She was his to protect and she had saved his butt. He had fought for them all and lost and even worse had failed to protect her. He heaved out a huge sigh. He had fallen in love with a warrior and it was no doubt one or the other of them would probably be in this position again. She was so beautiful, deadly with that bow. She looked so...harmless in that bed until she met your eyes, then you knew you were facing someone fierce, someone demanding, someone who darn near melted his bones right where he stood looking (he hoped) sternly down at her.
If she ever figured out exactly how awesome she was to him, he would be in very big trouble indeed. "And how are we today, sleepy head? Aches, pain, infection? Complaints, stipulations, demands, recalcitrance?" Secretly he hoped for recalcitrance, it would mean she was on the mend. He knelt down and grasped one of her hands, running the fingers of his other hand over her knuckles. Even her hands were beautiful and along with her eyes they were the most deadly part of her. He still remembered what it felt like to be her target and little did she know that that arrow long ago had indeed met its mark, his heart.
He settled down beside her and awaited her reply. He wondered if she had gotten enough sleep. Was she tired, groggy? High on pain herbs? He checked her pupils, they seemed normal. Too bad he would love to hear her babble about all the pretty everyday objects and how they were simply amazing and no one ever noticed.
He glanced around and upon seeing no nagging nursemaids he snuck in to snuggle her. He told himself and her it was to keep her warm but he thought they both knew better..this was Jahuar it was hard to get cold.

The ray of light let the half sleeping shifter know someone had entered the tent she was housed in. Her body was still aching, but not near as much as it had been right after the battle. She had taken a beating that's for sure. Kelina was sure that Sauron was still upset with her for going ahead of a lot of the other archers when everyone started surging forward, but she hadn't been able to help it. The mob of warriors had carried her forward with them. Though it was likely Kelina would have gone anyway to keep an eye on her sister and Sauron, but it didn't seem like they needed her to keep an eye on them. Both had done fine in that final battle against the beasts. At least now she knew she should stay in her position like that one Alkidike had told her when she went to save Sauron. Could all of that had been avoided if she had just stayed where she was? No, the shifter told herself, then it would just be reversed, or worse. The Obans might have taken Sauron like they had taken the two elders. And that would not have been good. It was better this way. Her eyes opened to see the person she had been hoping for looking down at her. It looked like he was trying so hard to have a serious gaze but it just made her want to laugh, and she did. "I'm still a little achey, but that look on your face is almost enough to make them all go away." She told him, still laughing even though it hurt to laugh. All her wounds were healing quickly and all her cuts had scabs but they were still keeping her here. She smiled to herself as he climbed into the small bed with her to cuddle. "I think it's time I left this tent. I'm feeling much better and I don't think I'm helping anyone by being in here. We lost the battle so surely more is to come. I have to start training again. After my sad performance against those beasts I NEED to start training again." She looked him in the eyes, even as he was cuddling next to her. Her eyes told him she was serious and she hated being cooped up like this.

"Lina this is my fear inspiring face not my laugh at me face." Then under the pressure of her giggles he cracked and had to laugh too. He couldn't help it she was just so full of life. "Getting anxious are you? Well I would hate to think about what I would be like stuck in a bed like this, you would probably have to sit on me to keep me in the bed. Have they said when you can leave yet? You probably need some sunshine. My mom says that is the best medicine along with laughter." He made a face at her, trying to get her to cheer up.
Argh he was getting tired of serious faces "Guess what, I accepted a fight with an Alkidike and she hit me twice and flattened me. I am very glad she is on our side." That woman his like Yaholo would. He had dodged once and got a few hits in but she was tough as nails. "Maybe we should both train with her eh? I can't wait to start with you I bet you hit quite a few Obans with that bow of yours."

"Sometimes "Ron, all your faces are the same." Kelina said with a laugh before pushing herself up. "Sounds like your mom is a very wise person. They have kind of said I can leave? But, like you said, I need sunshine. And to climb trees, and not be confined to a bed. If I have to stay here any longer you may have to sit on me!" Upon hearing that he was fighting with Alkidikes, at first Kel didn't realize that he meant training and got fiercely protective for a moment before he finished speaking and then it made sense. "Alkidikes are fierce. But it's good that you were able to fend her off. You did really well against the Obans, and they're the enemy that matters right now so I wouldn't worry about getting beat by an Alkidike. I left my training arrows at home unfortunately, but I was thinking that with all the earthlings around, I might be able to find an archer who would be willing to train me. I'm not sure though." Kelina looked away when he mentioned the Obans. Her performance was a sad one, she thought she had been better than that. "I wouldn't say that...but I think more than a few of my arrows are in their big beasts." She knew she had hit the beasts a few times, but they seemed no more than bee stings to them. Still, though, it was an accomplishment. "Come on, lets get out of here." She said, getting up and pulling him up with her.

"Sitting on you might be fun but something tells me you would not make it very comfortable for me."
He tilted his head. "I'm sure there are training arrows around here somewhere that you can work with. I would look for a few trainers while all the best warriors are gathered here with us."
"Well the beasts did look like overgrown pincushions so I'd say you and the others hit your mark well. "
He was busy playing with her hair when she pulled him off the bed and he nearly did a faceplant. Some awesome warrior he was. He had not even seen that coming. He chuckled a bit. "Your exuberance is astounding my lady, but I'm not surprised, beds are not very exciting when you are stuck in them. Trees are better but no popping old wounds open, or I'll hog tie you till your better."
Now that would be a hard task, she was probably a well accomplished wigger out of grasps by now. He waggled his eyebrows to lighten the comment up a bit. 'Tell me Lina, was that the same as all my other faces?"

Kelina was always in a better mood when Sauron was around. But talk of the battle always seemed to mute her happiness and make her a lot sadder. If she could help it, she'd rather not talk about it. Kel felt it was another of her failures, and those were things she'd rather not dwell on. She smiled slightly as she pulled him out of the tent and away from camp. "We may practice...but later. I don't like this war and I just want to spend time with you now..." She said suddenly. When he waggled his eyebrows, she giggled a little, "No, that wasn't like your other faces. And okay okay...no climbing trees." She scrunched up her nose and frowned but would take the deal if it meant getting out of the tent. Sorry it's poopy!

"Well first off lets find some descent food for you, I can't imagine weak broth being all that full of energy now is it. Then perhaps we can go for a nice walk in the opposite direction from all the fuss, cuddle and smooch to our hearts content and get rid of that cooped up feeling? How does that sound?" He pulled her close and tucked her gently under his arm. She felt so right there. "You know you are the most precious thing in my life." He kissed her head.
"Now what do you feel like, meat, salad or bug?" He grinned and steered them toward one of the food wagons. "Or would you prefer fast food?"

Rolling her eyes, she let Sauron put her under his arm and wrapped her arm around his waist as they walked towards the food wagons. He was right, she was fairly hungry, though nothing really appealed to her. Kel couldn't help but smile when he said his suggestion. Yes, that sounded like a nice get away. "That sounds great." She said, giving his waist a little squeeze. "I hope you know I could never be without you now." Kelina said in return to him, no matter how sappy it sounded. "Why don't we just grab some fruit. Shifters on the go food." Kel said in a lame attempt for a joke.

He chuckled, "Fruit sounds wonderful, you know I forgot about that food group, completely." He gathered some for himself and waited while Kelina chose hers.
"Well it is a beautiful sunny day, lets hope the beasts in the bush are all fast asleep and not looking for shifter tar tar." He grinned. Now that he thought about it, he missed the bush, camplife was well and good for protection but there were a few too many people around, he preferred a more secluded setting. That way he could smooch Kelina all he wanted. He grinned at the thought, broadly and without apology.

Kelina faked gasped at Sauron's mention of forgetting fruit! "You can't forget fruit! You've been spending too much time with the other earthlings for a shifter to forget fruit!" She teased him. Thankfully, and yet regrettably, there was a wagon with all kinds of fruit in it. As Sauron gathered up some for himself, Kelina chose a few similar ones, grabbing a few of each until her arms were full save a hand. Not wasting any time, she started eating a piece of it as they started walking away from the camps. "No offense to my sister, but I think I've had enough of beasts right about now." She said somewhat sarcastically thinking back to the battle. "It'll be nice to be out in the tree with you again Sauron. It'll be even better when the war is over."

"I agree. I miss the relative peace we had. I mean its great working together with everyone, I think its fantastic but I wish it had happened without the current circumstances." He bit into a piece of fruit and moaned happily. "Argh these are delicious." Juice was dribbling down his chin and he tried to catch it.
"Well you have everything sweet thing? I find I can't wait any longer to be surrounded by trees." He started walking in the direction of the forest. They passed fewer and fewer people the further they went and he could feel the wild call to him. He hummed happily and munched some more fruit.

Kel couldn't help but nod in agreement with him. "At least the war has done something good. Perhaps it will help to unify the people of Tendaji even more. Maybe Alkidikes and Shifters will resolve our problems and we won't have to worry about running into them in the forest. Now only stupid Obans." She commented. A smile crept up onto her face watching him try to catch all the juice that was dibbling down his chin. He really was something.
Following him lovingly, she thought on his words and his term of endearment. "I believe we have everything. Lets just enjoy this little outing." Sauron's humming seemed to calm her endless mind until it was focused solely on their time together right now. "Sauron, what are we going to do after the war?" Kelina asked him after they had been walking for several minutes.

"And if the shifters and alkidikes can get along, then why not the rest of us and the Obans? Once we dissillusion them about their land grab scheme." He scowled. "Do I go and try to invade their villages? No. We in the north have so many different skills and backgrounds that come along with each race that when they fight on our grounds we will have an advantage, if as you say we work together and unite as equals. We can do this, I know we can."
"Make bows and breed radaku?" He asked innocently, giving her his most gorgeous smile. He glanced around comically then waggled his eyebrows at her " or travel? Or...stay at home by our lonesome until there are more of us?" He grinned and tugged her in for a quick kiss. "What say you my gorgeous queen?"

"Maybe so. But they seemed pretty determined. I'm not quite sure that it will be as easy as dissillusioning them. I think it might only be figured out by fighting. Which is sad, for the loss of life on both sides. They're talented fighters, as difficult as it is for me to say that. I know us shifters will fight till the end, they're in our home after all. I hope the Alkidikes will feel the same way." Kelina took his hand and swung it as they walked, her other hand holding her mountain of fruit.
Rolling her eyes at his innocent and gorgeous smile. He was such a flatterer. "You know, Sauron, I'm glad I didn't skewer you when you snuck up on me." She said playfully, giving him the tiniest of shoves. "We will definitely have to make lots of bows and get lots of adorable little radakus running around. I'm sure my sister can help us with the latter." It was only after she finished that did she realize the 'more of us' part before he kissed her. She smiled slightly, "Would you want to have kids some day?" she asked boldly.
