The sun had just reached its peak, its warmth permeating into the jungle below. Even though it was only just the start of spring, the frigid cold that had claimed most of the Kawani lands had already melted away here. Lush scents drifted through the air. Sweet traces of dew mingled with the enticing aroma of opening buds. Celandine, snowdrops and even hyacinth added their fragrant smells to the moist air.

Lamiales took a deep breath, filling his lungs with the alluring scents. Spring tasted delightful against his tongue. He stretched out his neck, shaking his mane with delight as he let himself relax. It had been a long and hardy journey. The stallion had left his herd, setting out to find his path in life. Where that would lead, he did not know, but he knew that his hooves were planted firmly in the Way. He trusted his fate to the spirits, and that was all that mattered. The rest, he knew, would come to him in due time.

Thus far it had led him to spend his winter in the desert. Whilst it was pleasantly warm considering the season, the air had been arid and thick, and he knew he'd be happy if he didn't see any more sand for most of his life. He'd managed to make himself fair sick of it. This place, however, was nice. It seemed vibrant, full to bursting with the promise of new bloom and life.

He leaned himself against a tree, idly itching his shoulder on its tough bark. Yes, this jungle was good. He would enjoy exploring here for a good long while.
