While the origami Senshi did her thing, Megrez watched from behind a corner. Huh, so there really were other people like her, with the weird outfits and everything! Except this girl seemed to have power over paper, not eggs. It left Megrez wondering just how many different forms these powers took. Well, there was no better time than now to step out. This girl was clearly in trouble, and it wouldn't matter if she looked ridiculous, because she would look ridiculous next to someone else who was doing more or less the same thing.

With that, Megrez stepped out from the corner. "Hang on, I'm coming to help!" she said as she ran towards the scene of the battle.

"You take one the one you're working on, I'll take the other!" That sounded like a good strategy. If the presumably more experienced Senshi finished off the one she was currently handling, she would be able to help her that much more quickly (or possibly take a moment to catch her breath). Now... how did she use her powers...? Right, make a gesture, try to focus...

An egg materialized and plopped itself neatly into Megrez's cupped hand. Putting as much force behind it as she count muster, she flung it at the youma further away from Mintaka. The beast reacted with a sharp cry, and soon it was heading towards Megrez, with full intent to strike. Looks like she'd managed to draw some aggro.

Megrez didn't really have time to answer that. The youma she'd attracted the ire of was charging toward her quickly. What would be faster, pulling back to punch it or flinging another egg? Probably the egg, since an egg appearing out of nowhere was a bit less easily telegraphed than a standard punch. Cupping one hand yet again, she conjured another egg and chucked it square in the monster's face. The youma's energy was now flaking off quite a bit, but Megrez didn't exactly know how to identify when a youma was running low on HP, so to speak.

Now that the youma was blinded by egg goop, she had time to respond. "I don't know- I guess we'll find out in a few minutes!"

Megrez flashed Mintaka a winner's grin, conjured one last egg, and chucked it at the youma. It was a direct hit to the creature's torso. With a pained roar, the youma crumbled into dust, and that was that. She watched the dust pile for a moment to make sure nothing new popped up from it. "That's it? That wasn't so bad, I guess."

She approached Mintaka and held her hand out for a handshake. "Hey, who are you? I'm Megrez." Using that name and not Luca to refer to herself still felt a bit weird. "It's nice to see that I'm not the only one like this out there. You know, 'this,'" she said, gesturing to the bow with the egg brooch on it with her other hand. "I mean, I'd heard of these types of things with the costumed people and the monsters, but I never thought I'd actually get this close to meeting one, much less be one."

"It's fine! Don't worry about it," Megrez said regarding the handshake. "Mintaka, huh? I should have figured you had origami powers, but at first I thought it was just paper. Nice to meet you." She paused. "Oh, so you're new, too? How long have you been doing this? I'm... really new. Like, I've only been doing this for a few days new. I'm surprised I was even able to use my magic."

Megrez chuckled at the mention of the power rangers. "Yeah! Like that! Though I've heard stories of things being done in this very city that sound like they could only have been done by senshi. If it weren't for the fact that I just beat a weird animal-thing to dust with a bunch of eggs I still wouldn't believe I was one."

Megrez nodded enthusiastically at the art comment. "Yeah! I totally agree with that. I admit, I'm a little jealous of people who can write and draw well." Perhaps her interpretation was a bit off, but the connection made sense to her. "Oh, wow, that's a long time, even if you haven't been doing much with the power in that time." She couldn't help but chuckle when Mintaka flushed. "Yeah, I'll second the 'embarrassing' part too. I still feel weird being seen like like this."

When Mintaka asked about her awakening, Megrez shook her head. "Oh, no, I didn't awaken by myself. A talking cat named Julienne approached me one day, gave me a thing that looked like a pen, and then POOF! I was Megrez." That was a simplified version of the encounter, but at least it covered the important part (the talking cat).

"Abel, huh? That's the name of your guardian cat, I take it?" Megrez shook Mintaka's hand once more. "It's been great meeting you too! Maybe we can patrol together sometime soon and cut down the youma population a bit." She took a quick glance skyward. "It's getting kind of late... I may be a senshi, but I still have to be home in time for dinner. See you around!"

With that, Megrez took her leave, a spring in her step.
