After another cold winter, things were finally starting to get balmy again. The grass was green and growing long, flowers were in bloom, and Silent Sorrow was off finding someone new to putter after. Fortunately she no longer had horrible winds, cold sleet, or snow to contend with in her journeys. She plodded from grassland to the sandy shore, flapping her headwings as she looked about.
There was...nobody around. Odd. Humans and horses alike were very predictable when it came to cabin fever. Was she just in the wrong place? Did she arrive too early? It was still bright morning, but even so... Sorrow frowned. This wouldn't do at all. Frankly, she didn't look forward to padding by the shoreline for hours on end if it just felt like she was looping her steps.
She could try to swim, but...she knew THINGS lurked out there. And the water was still likely to be cold. She remembered once when someone she followed fled from her by taking a dive and splashing off. Talk about rude. At least the sun wasn't too hot, nor the sand, but... Sorrow looked back towards the grasslands. Maybe there would be someone harassable closer to the village. Or at least she could find someone around where horses could actually eat off the land? No one really benefited from sand, after all.
Or maybe she was just over-thinking this. If the day was nice enough, maybe she could just sit and wait until someone came by. If she was lucky. Possibly. Maybe. She flapped her little wings again.

Sounansha stretched out his back and legs. Sitting in one place for so long was starting to get to him. He generally didn't enjoy such things, but it had been too cold with the winter to do much else. Now that the sun was out more the sand was warm beneath him. He always enjoyed nice warm sand.
Shaking himself out he started out along the beach. He wondered to himself if it might be too early for anyone else to be out and about. Not many enjoyed venturing to the cooler beach air on such days. Though the sun beat down strong and warm. Breathing in the salty air, he sighed. It was such a nice day. Nicest it had been in a long time.
He looked around, not really noticing anyone. Then turned his attention to the water. It was probably pretty cold, but for a quick dip, he was willing to deal with it. He gently waded out a bit, the water just touching his stomach before he laid down in it to get the rest wet. Yep. The water was still frigid.
Getting back up and quickly coming back to the shore, he shook himself off.

She was doing one last take on the area, JUST in case someone appeared out of the blue. Maybe they'd off in the distance, closer to green land, so she could start a new journey! To the left! No. Tooooo the right! No. Behind! Nope. To the front! Wait, no, that was the ocean. That wouldn't work.
Sorrow huffed and kicked a hoof at the sand. Darn it. She needed to figure out a better method than this, because it sure wasn't working.
If she could mumble to herself, she would be, but instead took it out on the soft sand mount for a little while longer until there was some sort of break in the waves. At least, she was sure she heard that.
Her head wings fanned out in surprise and excitement. Maybe someone DID come out to the shore, too! Perhaps it was a kelpi or someone. She knew a lot of those tended to be a little bloodthirsty, but she didn't care! Anything was better than being bored and alone!
She looked this way and that until she saw the brown form of a nixie a little off from where she was. She caught him returning from his aborted attempts at a swim. Her ears flicking happily, she quietly started making her way over to him. Hopefully he'd be on the land for a while, at least long enough to follow somewhere!

Sounansha stood on the sand a moment, trying to gain some warmth from the sun. Though being aquatic himself, he never really could stand water that was frigid. Water that was slightly warm from the sun was much more enjoyable to swim around in. A lot more fish and things were closer to shore when that happened as well, seathi even came closer to the shore in warmer times, making for a more interesting swim.
He started walking up onto the sand a bit more. Maybe it was time for some grazing. He was a bit hungry. As he looked around a bit, he noticed another on the beach. First he had seen in a while! It was a bit exciting, but he was sure that the other didn't want to be bothered by him. Most got upset if you started a conversation with them.
Continuing onto the grass, he lowered his head a bit and started nibbling away.

Unsurprisingly, he started moving away from the shoreline, and, more importantly, her. Sorrow was unperturbed, just thinking: of course. If you're not going to swim, the only other way to go was inland. It's not like he could float up and away or anything. Even she knew that much. Sorrow picked up her pace a little anyway. The nixie had slowed to a halt, leaving little reason for her to go beyond a slug's pace for the time being, but she had decided that she was going to go right up to him. If he didn't suddenly bolt, anyways, but at that moment, it sure didn't seem likely.
This wasn't exactly her normal way of doing things. Around larger horses, she tended to keep something of a distance. For her own safety and all that. Better safe than sorry if someone decided to tell her to bugger off with a back-kick to the face. Even with other usdia, Sorrow generally kept out of their faces, if not a couple of feet away, but it had been so long...so, so long... Would it be so bad to get a little socialization before trekking after the poor guy?
She quietly came up to him. Sorrow watched him eat from only steps away from his person, her head slightly tilted. Her tail flicked every now and then. The wings behind her ears stretched and flapped a little. Without a voice, this was really the only way she made any noise. It was light, but it was better than nothing. Or stomping. That would be a little much in any case, and she never needed (or wanted) to be demanding in the first place.

Sounansha looked up from his eating, seeing small hooves out of the corner of his eyes. He looked the other up and down for a moment.
"Hello there."
He hadn't seen anyone around for a while before that morning, so this small mare was certainly an interesting sight. Walking closer to her, he shook his head out a bit.

Silent Sorrow casually flapped her head wings in a silent greeting, smiling a little. The wings also quickly turned into a shield against water being shaken out of his hair. She snorted amiably at that, and shook her own head in response, eyes squeezed shut as she did so.
Once her eyes opened again, she stared at him with her beige gaze once more. This was how socializing like a normal horse worked, right? He wasn't running or or anything, so that was a positive, yeah?

Souanansha came right up to the other horse and sniffed at her a bit. He had only seen head wings a couple times before, so she was certainly a sight for him to see. Walking around her a bit, he was surprised to see little wings on her rear as well. Certainly not something he was used to seeing.
"What brings you here?"
He came around in front of her and looked at her snout a bit. He liked taking in the markings of other horses. They were always interesting.
