"Firani, huh?" Merikh mused out loud to the ever quiet Yolana who was walking side by side with him. The two of them were perched on the top of a rocky structure, watching as a pair of big dragons walked along in front of them, leaving behind very temporary footsteps in the burning sand. They were the 'next step up' from the Kiandri from what he gathered, a bit tougher, a bit bigger, and were wielders of fiery magic instead of electrical based magic. It was something he knew well since it was amongst the forms of magic that his mom knew. The way that she manipulated flames was quite impressive, but it was something that he hadn't even considered for a moment for himself. He wasn't a magic user, never felt the draw to use such power, he had always wanted a sword like what his mother had and now he had that. He gave the weapon a glance that was resting across his lap, before he looked back to where the dragons were once more.

After a thoughtful moment he looked over at Yolana, "I think that I am going to go after them, I could use a couple of Firani orbs in my collection." He told her before he added, "I am sure by now I don't need to say this but I don't want you to jump in unless I really need it, alright?" He really would rather not consider that he would need to be saved by a girl. Sure, that was why she was here, she was a bodyguard hired by his parents to keep him safe, but he would only except her help in the more dire of situations. Perhaps if he were injured again as bad as he had been by the Ayrala when he was younger but otherwise he just wanted to do this himself.

The woman gave a nod of her head, glancing down at the dragons, before she waved her hand at Merikh. She'd allow it because be was determined, if he needed her she would know and she would jump into the battle. With that bit of encouragement of sorts from Yolana Merikh took his weapon in hand, hopped off the rocks that they were perched on, and headed down toward where the dragons were located. Time to get himself some Firani orbs he thought to himself, debating with himself if he felt that they were a good enough gift for Lord Draco and the Dark Lady but he wasn't sure. He didn't quite feel as though they were up to snuff but at least they would look nice in his room.

Once he felt that he was close enough he broke into a run, charging at the dragons. The two of them turned in unison, spotting him at the same time, and opened their mouths to roar at him... but only one of them succeeded. His attack was swift and his aim true, causing one of the dragons to collapse in a heap, blood rushing out of a wound to its throat. It took but a moment for it to start to crumble apart. He spotted his orb as it fell into the golden sands, taking note where it landed, before he whirled around to face the next dragon. Lifting his weapon up he pointed it at the second Firani and gave a smirk, "I wouldn't bother to run if I were you, you won't get far." He declared before he prepared himself for his next attack. One down, one to go, these Firani didn't seem too tough but a battle was a battle and he was itching for more of them. Maybe after these two were done and their orbs collected he'd just move on and find more prey.

The Firani dragon that was left looked toward where the fallen orb was, at Merikh, and then back and forth once more before it barred its teeth at him. The loss of its companion in such a swift and surprising manner didn't seem to go over well with the red and it was but a moment after Merikh's boasting that it came charging at him. He dodged out of the way of the charge only to get a solid whack in the side by its tail, something that sent him staggering, one hand on his side, "Ow... damn it! That's gonna bruise." He muttered to himself, his tone one that showed his displeasure. It was something he had to shake off though, he couldn't let some little bruise slow him down, not when that might very well get him chomped on or scratched up. He didn't really want to deal with either, as such he meant to keep pushing forward so that he could take this thing down. No dragon was going to get the best of him again!

Moving forward in a zig-zagging pattern he made it a lot more difficult for the dragon to really hone in on him well enough that it was able to use it's fiery breath against him. Instead it seemed to aggravate the dragon into just releasing a massive burst of fire. The aim was bad, its anger throwing it off quite badly, and it made it rather easy for him to get to the dragon's side. He landed on hit against it, his massive blade biting deep into the back of it's hide leg, before he was moving again. He couldn't slow down, not when the dragon was still able to keep the fight up. No, he'd merely keep himself going and be sure to take shots where he could. He would stay on guard until this dragon was reduced to an orb. Only then would he allow himself to relax.

Merikh kept dancing along, doing his best to keep ahead of the dragon's attacks, countering with attacks of his own, leaving behind lots of little wounds wherever he could. While he much preferred the method in which he took out the first one, that being a singular well placed, killing blow, this way worked too. A lot of woulds, even small ones, added up. Already the Firani was looking a lot more sluggish, leaving itself open for more and more attacks. It wouldn't be long before he was able to take this one down for good and claim its orb for himself. All he had to do was to be ready for when the chance presented itself... and when it finally did he was on it in an instantly.

The dragon stumbled, likely due to the blood loss, exposing its vulnerable throat to the Oblivionite. It was something he was only too happy to take advantage of as he charged, his blade flashing upwards in a wide arch... and the dragon was gone before it even hit the ground, crumbling away into nothing. He gave a bit of a smirk before he gave his sword a flick, knocking the dragon's blood free of his sword. Time to claim his well earned rewards he thought to himself, walking forward to pick one of the orbs up. He turned around, about to move over to where the second one was waiting for him... and nearly crashed into Yolana.

As per usual the woman startled him, about giving him a heart attack, before he regained his composure and gave her a once over. It was likely the fact that she had his pack over one shoulder and the second orb in her hands that kept him from complaining. Instead he merely opened up the pack, tossing the orb he carried into it, "Put the orb in there and let's get going. That battle wasn't nearly enough to sate the urge I feel at the moment. Let's go and see if we can find more dragons that are ready and willing to throw themselves on my blade." He told his bodyguard before he was heading out, eager to find another battle as soon as possible, preferably before his bruised side started to bother him overly much.
