The White Queen's castle is both cold and beautiful, but it needs help to stay in such pristine condition. Her loyal servants, the white card soldiers, come in handy for this purpose.
(...And several others, but do not acknowledge their crystal weapons, if you've any interest in personal safety.)
They are painting the roses white.
- Paint 10 roses white.
Difficulty level: Medium
Once you have completed this quest, you cannot do this quest again.
The labyrinth is made entirely of brambles, but between the thorns peek a number of roses. Most of them are white, but on some, the colours have turned something else.
Better get to painting.
A card knight jabs his thumb at a ramshackle shed in the corner of the garden, and says that supplies are in there. You'll need to collect your materials-- some paint and a brush-- and navigate the maze to find enough roses to paint.
OOC: TENDING THE GARDEN You are welcome to complete this quest while in a party. While everyone has to collect their own supplies, the roses painted while in a group all count towards everyone else's completion. Part 1:- To collect your supplies, please roll a 10-sided dice. Even: You collect your paint brushes and a can of white paint successfully. Odd: You fail, and need to roll again. You may roll as many times as necessary. Part 2:- To paint your 10 roses, roll 10 10-sided dice. - Match up the corresponding numbers to the results of your rolls: 1: You get lost, and one of the roses you've painted was actually a fake. Subtract 1 rose from your total. 2-4: You find no roses. 5: You find 1 rose! 6: You find no roses. 7: You find 1 rose. 8-10: You find 2 roses! You may roll until you get to a total of 10, either by yourself or with a party. After that, you've found the loot!
Treasure trove found! As you step inside, a chest pops open! You open it right up because that's pretty much what you do with treasure chests in games.

...What an odd job this was. She wasn't entirely sure why they were doing this, nor was she certain as to why she was being enlisted to help, but Nightbloom saw no harm in lending them her assistance. With a little nod, she proceeded to the shed that had been motioned too in hopes of gathering what she needed.

As it turned out, a little rooting was an order. After moving things around, Nightbloom finally obtained what she had been looking for, removing the brushes and the can of paint.
Alright, she was ready to make the roses white!

Shadowstep had just wandered out of the throne room, muttering lowly to himself. "Knew the artifacts would be involved. Those little pieces of s**t just can't stay quiet can they?" he murmured before pausing as he took notice of something odd. Soldiers within this labyrinth were painting roses white. One of the cards motioned towards a shed speaking of supplies. Shaking his head to himself as he received a quest notification, he sighed and trudged over, grabbing some paint and a brush. This labyrinth was not a very inviting place, but Mimsy was still as curious as she had ever been. She thought nothing of the color of the roses until they began to transition away from white - ah, this was familiar again! A card knight spoke to her as though she was meant to be here, directing her towards the 'supplies'. She discovered that they were a paintbrush and red paint, which was exactly what she had expected. As she reached to collect them, however, she was distracted by Shadowstep's muttering. Specifically, that he had mentioned the word 'artifact'. "What evidence of artifact activity have you observed?" she asked, stepping towards him in a way that she intended to be nonchalant. It wasn't. "Legacies? Class A? Something worse?" He was about to go paint a rose but paused when he heard Mimsy speaking. Shadowstep eyed her warily for a moment. Apart from the whole Wonderland ordeal, it was hard for him to tell what she was outside of this dream. "Legacy artifacts," he said slowly, "You didn't notice the references during the raid?"He was silent for a time, thinking over what else he should say. "There's also an entity in the throne room claiming to be Grief. Arriving at the shed soon after Shadowstep and Mimsy, SANDSHARK couldn't help but pick up bits and pieces of their conversation. Artifacts? There were artifacts involved? He only knew of the battle artifacts scattered across the world, but the way these two were talking made it sound like they were sentient.
"You're telling me that this is all the work of artifacts? As in they're doing it of their own free will?" The man butted in, still searching for white paint.

Wait, she didn't sign up to paint some silly roses? She never even liked the scent of roses, and white ones were the worst. the0racle frowned at the card knight as he directed her where to go. With a heavy sigh, she trudged off towards the shed to gather supplies. She was only going to do this for the loot and stuff. Or at least, that was what was quickly becoming her new mantra.

She wasn't afraid to admit that the castle thus far had certainly been to her liking, and wouldn't mind staying here for a while. If only it weren't supposed enemy territory....
The ghoul had somehow found herself being assigned a rather strange task of painting the roses white - and while the colour was one of her favourites, the ghoul simply couldn't understand the rationale behind it. The garden maze was admittedly, very beautiful. Through the brambles of thorns, she could see the delicate blooms of white roses. Amongst them were a few... equally beautiful roses, just of a different colour.
Why couldn't they just plant white roses? she wondered, as she reluctantly painted the roses over with the white paint.
