The gryphon leapt in swiftly--which probably would have been better if the cheesecake hadn't decided to turn in time to catch one of his legs as he cut it.
Cue slipping and a sticky landing. But at least it stuck.

But Grumpy Kill was right, they had a battle to do! So after missing a beat with being preoccupied with feeling bad for Darcy, Kousagi quickly healed herself. Yeah, she did it! killsteal gave her a look.
Then he grabbed one of her arms and yanked her forcefully out of the cheesecake. The result was the mob being defeated as it was already pretty weakened by that time.
This was probably the oddest way he had ever defeated a foe before.

It was probably better she ran, because killsteal wouldn't have been nice about the rescue. Wiping the goop off a new card, the gryphon stalked off for his next target.
