Displeased, Fox sat on the mattress that was haphazardly strewn across the floor of the room. Grunting a little, she pulled the cloak that generally covered her features and let it hit the ground with a hard thud. The damn thing was heavy and right now she wanted it as far away from her as possible.
Moments like these left her wanting minutes to lick her wounds. Though she often ended up just suffering it out. Now though, she was grabbing from a small kit of supplies that was left nearby and wrapping her side where Flash had caught her during their 'spar', for lack of wanting to really address it as a fight.
Eventually she finished wrapping her wounds and let herself fall back against the mattress, staring up at the dilapidated ceiling above. It wasn't much of a place to hang out at, but it was still fairly sturdy and it was out of the way.
It's all that was really need.
"I know you're here Glitch, mays well come out." she spoke out loud, not bothering to move.
"Less you're planning on heading out again."

"You...know the new tower is pretty far along in construction right? Boss-man is putting people up, we don't -have- to stay out here..."
Glitch had walked out of his hiding spot (it was just out in the hallway, not much of a hiding anyway) and plopped down on the floor near the mattress. There was the slightest wince in his features as he managed to sit -on- his tail rather uncomfortably...but once adjusted he was fine and the robotic appendage waved behind him as he talked.
"But no, I'm not going anywhere. Nothing to do out there except build and sometimes that's boring. I'm -not- a building bot."
He wasn't really a bot at all, but hey....whatever.

"I'd rather stay here." she quickly offered, in no rush to relive the fate of the last tower.
"At least til I can get Flashover to move on." despite the ache, she forced herself up to a seated position, glancing over toward her cybernetic counterpart. She never really fully understood why he'd started to refer to himself as a bot. Though she didn't really understand him much at all these days.
Though it was still comforting to have him around. Even when he was mucking up her attempts to dispose of this city's biggest (and most annoying) problem.
"Heh. Yeah, you're not much for building things. No big deal, I'm sure they can complete it without your assistance anyway." cracking her neck, she shifted her head from side to side. Ugh, it was going to be a rough night of sleep, she was sure of it.
"Thanks for your help." even if he had let Flash go, he'd still stopped her from going down.

Hey! He had a robot -tail-, and a robot -horn-. So he was part bot...right? He was, at the very least, a robot unicorn.
Somewhere, someone snickered at that joke.
But really why did Glitch do half the things he did? Introduce himself constantly? Whistle? Call himself a bot? Whatever...it was just one more thing in the long list of strange unexplainable things that Glitch did.
"...not a problem. Guess he doesn't like me much. Dunno why." There was history there...but in the jumbled mass of thoughts running through Glitch's mind he couldn't pick out just -why- Flashover hated him. The other sure loved to scream TRAITOR whenever they were in the same area. It was weird, and Glitch didn't really like it.
So, instead, he whistled. "Well since you aren't running Flashover out right now, and I'm not building anything. What -are- we going to do?"

Fox mostly assumed that Flashover simply hated everyone, though outside of herself, he seemed to actively dislike Glitch on a far more personal level. It wasn't a question she could help Glitch answer either, however.
No.
Before she could say anything his whistle cut through the silence that had followed his comment, leaving her to just close her bad eye and rub at the lid lightly.
"Dunno." she tacked onto his query.
"Was thinking of letting myself heal up for a bit before doing much, but if there's anything on your mind I can assist." by this point she'd pulled her hand away from her face, her good eye looking back towards the unicorn.
"Otherwise it may be a quiet night for a change."

"There's TOO much on my mind, that's the problem." Glitch had flopped over on his belly, the tail and it's wires now waving around above him.
"EVERYTHING is there at the same time, and I can't focus on any one thing and it's starting to get really confusing." He just sort of frowned, glancing over at the other.
Really, ever since the Tower incident his mind had been like this. The only time he seemed to be able to sort through anything was during a hookup with a machine to manage things. With nothing to really hook up to right now...
Yeah, his mind was racing.

Heh, no, there certainly were no machines to hook him up to here, and she was in no hurry to go lurk around to try to find him one. It was risky and she wasn't in good shape to do so at the moment. So while the guilt nattered away at the back of her mind, she was sadly aware there was little she could do for him in that moment.
It wasn't a fact she was fond of either.
"Sorry Glitch." a hand ran back through her hair, shaking it out a little, and her eye turned away from the cyborg. Taking a few moments, she simply let herself breathe deeply, considering their options for the night.
"Hmm, have you tried reading? May force your mind onto one thing." glancing back she offered him a quick shrug.
"I think I have an old book of mine here, if you'd like to try."

The tail was lashing back and forth a bit faster at this point. He felt like he should be up and doing something. Anything. Or maybe multiple things. Who knew.
But instead he just laid there.
"Haven't tried reading...guess it's worth a try."

Getting up from the mattress, Fox moved to the other side of the room. Kneeling down near the corner, she let her fingers run along the floorboards until her finger hooked. Giving a light tug, the board rattled loose and she was able to reach under it, digging for a moment, but eventually pulling out a small, leatherbound book.
The audio eyed it in silence for a moment, shoulders seeming to droop a little as she looked at it. They quickly squared off again however, and she made her way back, kneeling down next to the flopped over Glitch. Placing the book in front of him, she pulled her hand back and rested it on her knee. "It's, well. Not really much of a book I suppose. Just... an old journal of mine actually, from work. There's some interesting info in it though, maybe it will help."

Glitch eyed the book for a minute. Journal, huh? Well..it was something. Though he wasn't sure he should be reading another Audio's journal. She gave him permission though, so it must be okay!
So Glitch shifted around back to a sitting position and gathered up the book to read. Anything was better than sitting here trying to sort through his thoughts on his own.

The journal was less of a personal journal, and more of a work journal. The start date was a few years back, and it spoke of early days in the tower. Discussing things in progress, and future projects. Shortly into it there would be talk of the new subject she'd been left to work with and the time spent with them and the things they did with snippits of conversations spattered here and there throughout.
While he read, however, Fox moved back to lay back against the mattress, returning to stare at the ceiling again. A hand moved to lightly rub where she'd wrapped her side, her face flinching momentarily. Aside from that, she was quiet, not wanting to draw Glitch's attention, hoping the book would give him a few moments reprieve from his own thoughts.

Glitch seemed completely absorbed in this journal. While most of it was notes on various projects and....notes on a certain individual, the main thing was it was one solid thing to think on. That's what his mind needed right now. So, Glitch ended up flopped back over, pouring over the notes in the journal.
He had questions! Lots of them! What were these projects (he was certain he knew of some of them...or at least parts of them), and who was this subject (he sounded familiar...). But all of these things would require letting his mind wander again and that was dangerous.
So instead, he just kept reading...and rereading. Slowly his tail stopped it's thrashing and eventually just curled up around him.

Fox glanced over every now and then, checking on her friend. Though it took awhile, he seemed to settle down. It was a relief, really, and she was glad that damn journal at least seemed to have some use left in it. Other than providing her nostalgia, at times, for her old life.
When Glitch's tail stopped twitching about, she finally sat back up again. A short lived stretch that she immediately regretted elicited a frustrated grunt, leaving her shaking her head.
Her own mind drifted off a bit, idly considering what Glitch had said about the tower. She really didn't want to go back at this time, but she would definitely have to keep an eye on it. She was fairly certain Flashover wouldn't wait for it to be completed to take it down.
Sigh.
Why things had to be so complicated these days, she wasn't sure.

After the third read through, Glitch set the journal aside. His limbs were still...no more random twitching, no more racing mind. He was at peace.
For now, at least.
"You..know I want to go back right, when everything is rebuilt?" He eyed her, hoping that she shared a similar thought. It was an innocent enough statement though. Glitch just...wanted to go back. It was home now. Scurrying around in the city was fun! But...only when you had a nice inviting place to go home to at the end of the day.
This...was just not the same. But if this was what Fox wanted....he would have to learn to deal with it. Glitch wasn't looking to leave his friend's side permanently.

There was silence for a few minutes after Glitch's words hit her ears. The audio frowned heavily, but nodded her head. She'd expected that, really, she didn't like it either. It was his life, however, and it wasn't her place to tell him what or what he couldn't do.
"Yeah, I know." she finally got out.
"I'm not going to stop you from going either." a quick shrug of her shoulders gave off the impression she may not share that same sentiment. She wished she could, but she wasn't sure she could ever imagine life back in the tower. Not without painfully reliving the nightmare that was downfall of the first.
