Flying was something she was still very new to. But she could finally do it! And it was an amazing thing. Feeling the wind glide through her feathers and tease her mane... ! How she had gone so long without ever feeling this elation was a terrible thing. She owed all those kind soq that had taught her what her father could not so much. Laughing, Alarion dipped a wing and circled above the tree tops until she spotted an area she could land. Which was a little rough, but she was working on them! Shaking her mane and tail, the pale mare looked around, smile fading a bit. There was still visible damage from the fire that had raged, even this far into the mountains. But nothing like what she and her father had caught a glimpse of while traveling.
"So sad." She murmured, folding her wings against her back. The crest of feathers on top of her head rested against her mane, flaring up every so often when she heard one thing or another. Or got spooked. Really, she did have a tendency for jumping way too easily.
Snorting at herself, Alarion started seeking out some sweet grass, if she could find any, for lunch. She'd been flying for a good portion of the morning, training her muscles and getting used to the aches of flying. As luck would have it, there were small scattered patches of sweet looking grass not too far from where she landed. With a rumble in her stomach, she picked one patch to start with, lowering her head to graze idly. She was having quite the good day!

Lux inhaled the sweet scent of scorched earth and ash as she rolled over onto her belly with a dramatic yawn and stretch. A smile curled up her elongated lips as she surveyed the damage of the surrounding area. The damage she had caused... or at least helped along. How perfect was that lightning strike the night before? She had stared in wonder as flames licked up split tree trunk and struggled - oh how the poor flame struggled - to make it to the surrounding foliage. She had concentrated hard like her mama had taught her and like she practiced oh so often on her travels, and the flame reached the leaves of the next tree. Without her help, it reached the next one and the one after that until all the nearby trees were up in smoke. With no nearby water source, the area was engulfed until the fire ran out of fuel. The panicked critters that had scampered her way while the fire raged had made delicious snacks. Lux licked her lips as she retreated from her thoughts and stood to admire the burned trees around her.
"How beautiful," she cooed, swaying her tail. She strutted around a few of the broken, dead trees, rubbing her scales against the black, chalky wood. "How divine ~"
Lux paused suddenly. Her ears perked and she picked up the sound of wings and then the shuffling of hooves in the distance. Someone new for her to meet perhaps? How quaint. Quick and quiet steps took her to a small break in a copse of blackened trees. The half 'Suti smirked at the sight of a powder blue mare grazing. The feathered female seemed unaware of the red mare's prescence, and that pleased Lux immensely. She stepped out from behind the trees. 'This mare should learn to keep her back guarded,' Lux mused.
"Are you lost, little birdy?" she cooed.

Her nose wrinkled at some of the charred scent still filling the air. But she continued to snack on the little patch of grass she'd found, building up a little more of her energy so she could fly again. It was true that she was not very skilled at watching her back or keeping it guarded. Perhaps she took her familiars presence too much for granted. The fox was always watching. However today, Alarion was alone. Or at least she'd thought she was. The sudden sound of another mare startled her. Wings flared briefly as Alarion's head snapped up, the crest of feathers on her head rising fully.
"L-Lost?" She asked, spotting the mare. The other was a fiery red-orange that was rather lovely. Her tail was strange though, not one she'd ever seen before. "I'm not lost! I've been flying and found this spot to rest my wings." That there was any chance the red mare meant her any harm didn't even cross Alarion's mind. She was too sweet in that sense.
"I guess I was... lucky to find a small patch of grass." The winged mare continued, glancing down at it as her wings settled. A look of surprise mingled with embarrassment crossed her features. "Oh! Did you wish to share some too?" That was only polite! Especially with so little of the green stuff left around the area. xxx Yuki Bear xxx btw I forgot to say you are more than welcome to roughen Alarion up a bit if things get heated -shot- |D

Lux chuckled, flipping some of her bright orange hair over her shoulder. What a naive little thing, to wander blindly into my clutches
"Oh," she breathed, strutting closer. "Such a surprise that a patch of grass survived such a large blaze... I'm afraid I'm not one to eat leafy greens, my dear,"
Lux's tail whipped behind her as the grin on her maw widened. "A nice hunk of meat would be quite nice, however," She leaned in close to the mare. "Care to share a piece, birdy?" she hissed as her tail cracked against the ground ominously.

The bright mare was rather striking to look at, and Alarion tried to find some semblance of recognition in what type of soquili she may have been. But her knowledge of the different breeds was not all that great. Mostly she just knew those she had met. Or, in her case, was half (though she'd never seen a full blooded hippogryph yet).
The winged mare glanced down at the patch of grass with a small frown. "It really is a surprise." She agreed, before looking back up in surprise. "Oh... " Oh! Did that mean she ate meat? Like she did on occasion? Or Chosovi? "You eat meat too?" Alarion asked, having that confirmed a few seconds later. And a shiver raced along her spine. A part of her suddenly felt uneasy, like she should be cautious and was dealing with a bigger predator.
"I... I don't," she jumped slightly, taking a step back as the red mare's tail cracked against the ground. "I don't have any with me!" Alarion apologized, not even taking offense to being called 'birdy'. "B-But perhaps we could... go hunting?" It really was difficult for the pale mare to wrap her mind around the possibility this mare would hurt her.

Lux's eyes widened with glee. Oh, this was simply divine. Who had allowed this mare to wander off alone? 'Someone incredibly stupid, that's who.'
"Oh, my dear ~" She leisurely circled Alarion, contemplating her options. "How thoughtful of you! I would so enjoy a hunting companion," she exclaimed. "This forest is dead -" 'Like you will soon be' "- so there won't be much to hunt here. Let's go this way," Her tail swung back and forth behind her with excitement as she sashayed in a random direction. She had been planning on tracking a herd of deer that had traipsed through the singed forest, but this was so much better. If she just so happened to miss the neck of a deer and instead sink her sharp teeth into this mare... well, Lux did enjoy playing with her food.

She couldn't quite place why it bothered her to have the orange mare circle her. But she was too kind for her own good at times. Though she could toss out some sass here and there. "I doubt I'm a very good hunting companion." She informed the other mare a little bashfully. "But I've been learning." With some help from a friend.
Nodding her head, Alarion followed after the orange mare, trotting to catch up and stick beside her. "I'm Alarion, by the way." It was only polite to introduce oneself! Especially if she was going to hunt with her!
The fact there was any danger in store for her didn't even cross her mind, though her instincts were trying to tell her to be careful. xxx Yuki Bear xxx ahahaha Lux can totes bite her at some point~
