You hear a squeaking above you-- it looks as though a few bats have found their way out of a nearby fountain of delicious soda! A Batty Mad Hatter claps you across the shoulders, his eyes wide and constantly changing in colour.
"Better catch them for me, my dear, lest we oust you from our party! It's only polite that the guest be the one to clean things up, don't you think?"
Whether or not you agree, the task has been foisted upon you. Great. The Batty Mad Hatter arms you with a gun, and gestures at a nearby teacup, where a series of March Hares are hard at work filling syringes with...
With tea.
"Sleepytime, of course! How else should we get them out of the sky?"
SIDE QUEST: Bats on the Fountain!:
- Put at least 20 bats to bed for the Batty Mad Hatter!
Difficulty level: Easy
exclaim You can only complete this quest ONCE There is no failing UNLESS you leave! You may roll as many times as you want! exclaim
A march hare hands you a gun, and gestures at the nearby tables (tables on top of tables; how quaint!), with syringes of all shape, colour and size.
Shoot bats with your Sleepytime Tea Tranquilizer Gattling Gun (patent pending), putting this Mad Hatter's tea trays to rest. Of course the bats are used as tea trays. What else would a bat be for?
OOC: Back to the Fountain! The point of this sidequest is to collect tranquillizer darts for your gun, and shoot at least 20 bats! You are welcome to complete this quest while in a party. Everyone must roll for their own ammo, but bats shot down count for all members in a party. Your party can have a max of 5 people. Round 1:Collect your ammo! - Roll 1 20-sided dice. - This is how many darts you have to use! Round 2:- Roll a 100-sided dice for every dart you earned from round 1! So if you have 10 darts, you roll 10 100-sided dice. If you are soloing this event (ONLY SOLOS) you can roll them in sets of 2 100-sided dice. Otherwise, roll them individually. - Every number rolled that is 30 or greater counts as a successful shot. +1 Bat defeated. You may rinse and repeat this process until you have successful shot 20 bats, either by yourself or with your group's numbers tallied together. If you roll a 1 at any point, you will be awfully drowsy for the next side quest or battle you participate in!Upon successful bat retrieval, the Batty Mad Hatter thanks you by giving you a treasure chest!
Treasure trove found! As you step inside, a chest pops open! You open it right up because that's pretty much what you do with treasure chests in games.

While exploring the new zone of the dream-game, he comes across a dinner table set with some food and what appears to be a fountain. It bubbles strangely and when he inspects it more closely, he realises it's made of soda. Something bursts out of the fountain and he leaps back. It's a bat. Several more follow it out of the drink. The owner (?) of the party set appears and tasks Dreadpirate with clearing out the bats. He shrugs and decides why not. He doesn't agree about it being a guest's duty to clean up, but it's a quest and he wants some loot or experience or both. He is handed a gun. He takes a moment to study the feel and weight of it. It's comfortable in his grip. No bullets, though, he gets to fire syringes instead. "Alright," Dreadpirate says, eyes wide but just going with the crazy for now. He grabs a handful of syringes and starts loading. His gun will take two shots before he needs to reload. He's only picked three syringes. That's okay, it'll give him time to see how the gun handles before he goes back to restock. The Hatter clucks sympathetically and offers better luck as he returns for more syringes. He tries to grab more this time. ... He maybe overdoes it a bit. After moving away from the table and checking, he now has eighteen syringes to fire. At least he won't have to go back and restock for a while. Syringes fired: 0 / 18

He hopes he's learned from the previous shots. It would be nice to not be here all night. If there are new monsters to fight, or dungeons to investigate, it would be nice to get to some of those today. But first, he sighs, shooting bats. Maybe he's not compensating for the wind correctly. He adjusts his aim and takes another two shots. He misses the first bat, but the second drops. He hopes the Hatter has someone collecting the fallen bats, otherwise walking in this area is going to get messy. Syringes fired: 4 / 18
