This rp is between Lexicul (Divena) and Cynder Song (Angelique Delamort) Lexicul settled down at the base of a tall tree, admiring the way the wind blew through the leaves. It really was a very beautiful spring day, with the weather not too cold yet not too warm. The rustling leaves even seemed like a gentle song played by the spirits. Her mind wandered, following that thought down its path and quickly weaving together an interesting little tale. Well, interesting to her, at least. She would tell the tale to her family, later. Maybe… if it was finished. So many of her tales never actually made it away from her head. She wanted to be a story teller, but really didn’t have the attention span for it.

Cynder Song spied the mini mare camped out at the base of the tree and regarded her with interest. The small one seemed deep in thought, her minds traveling off to words unknown. Cynder would be lying if she didn't acknowledge some jealousy. Some days it felt like she was trapped in an endless expanse of grasslands, mountains, and forests. Same old soquili alogn the way - the adventurers, the dark ones, the ones that just wanted to help everyone so much that they just might explode...Sure there was an occasional skinwalker in the swamp or forbidden cemetery but overall...things could get pretty dull around here. That's why she couldn't help but admire the little mare and her far off look. Others might think the mini's mind was just wondering, but Cynder had a feeling it traveled a different path. At least this mare could see something beyond the same old every day hum drum. Cynder knew the power of the mind - it could make a heaven of hell or a hell of heaven, it was all in how you look at it.

A dandelion fluff drifted across her vision and Lexicul’s thoughts took a sharp turn, focusing on that little fluff. She imagined where it might have come from. A dandelion in a far off meadow, maybe. Oh, how it must have traveled far and long to find a new resting place. Through planes and meadows, above forests and between mountains. Never tiring, never stopping, looking for a meadow like that which it had left, a new home to call all its own… Maybe it would find a home at the base of a tree, sheltered from the worst of the summer sun. Oh, but no… she frowned. That wouldn’t do, would it? How could it get enough water for it to thrive? The tree would block all the rain and drink up any water. Unless the dandelion tried choking out the tree… oh, that poor tree…

Cynder almost laughed aloud. The little mini mare was looking right at her but didn't see her, the mare's attention completely captivated by something only her eyes beheld. Maybe a spider web drifting in the wind or a tiny leaf drifting around...whatever it was, it was beyond Cynder Song. Unless of course she got a bit closer...
She edged towards the mare on nearly silent hooves, being mindful of the earth beneath her feet and ensuring that each step was certain, without hesitation and firmly gripping the loose earth. It was only when she was close enoughI that the mini could hear her whisper that she asked in a soft, gentle voice, "What is it that you are looking at so very intently?"

"The dandelion fluff," she answered, dreamily, not quite processing that the voice had come outside of her head. Not yet, at least.

"That a fact?" Cynder asked with a grin. "And it's just floating out there in the sunlight, huh? Absolutely mesmerizing it seems."

"It's going home," she corrected. She blinked and realized that she wasn't alone. "Oh... I'm sorry... Was I ignoring you?" It wouldn't' be the first time.

"Not at all," Cynder replied pleasantly. "We were having a lovely conversation about dandelion fluff. It was quite fascinating, actually."

"Oh... was it?" Had she been speaking aloud? She had thought she'd gotten better about keeping her thoughts to herself.

"Most certainly," she nodded firmly. "You were quite captivated by the little thing, learn any secrets of the universe?"

“Oh, I wouldn’t know about secrets. But I did think of some more questions,” Lexicul smiled, dreamily. “Like where did it come from? Probably a meadow somewhere. A place with lots of sun and fresh air. Where is it going? Perhaps another meadow like the one it had left? Possibly a forest? Though that’s not likely, is it? No, the fluff would need lots of sun and air to grow into a full flower. Oh,” she frowned a bit, suddenly saddened by another thought. “But how many dandelion seeds actually find new homes and grow to full flowers in their own right? Is this poor little fluff doomed to wander for all eternity, always a seed, never growing any larger? Oh, how horrible! That poor thing!”

"Perhaps it will not find a spot to put down roots," Cynder conceded quietly. "But think of all the things that one little fluff will see on its journey. Wonders beyond wonders as it travels the world on an endless breeze. If you ask me," she continued in a silky voice. "The ones we should truly pity are those that are caught by the ground and stuck, there, in one spot, for their entire existence. I truly can not imagine a worse fate than that."

Lexicul sniffed a bit, considering this new twist. “I… suppose,” she murmured, thoughtfully. “If that is what the fluff truly wants… maybe it won’t settle. It wouldn’t be hard, would it? Never stopping, just catching the wind and going wherever it blows. Yes… Yes, I could see that. It would be such a free life, wouldn’t it? But, that’s only if you like being caught up and swept away without any control over your destination. It’s a bit of an illusionary freedom, don’t you think?”

"Better than a very real cage," Cynder Song said softly. "And honestly, is choice really something we have in our world? Are we not play things for the spirits and the fates? If that is so, then I would rather live a life swept away by chaos than one pinned down in a hollow life."

"There is an argument to be made for the stability of family and friends that come with putting down roots," Lexicul pointed out, rather reasonably. "I love my family... though I don't see them much anymore. I would miss them horribly if I never saw them again."
