BrotherOfWar was looking for an opportunity to test out the new Ability Card that he had just received from a recent quest. He deemed that the Garden Snake that had suddenly slithered out of the bushes and placed itself directly in his path would do the job nicely, using the card to power up his attacks for the next couple of turns before he lobbed a rock at the nearing creature.

GS frowned deeply as she wandered into a battle with a boil and a snake. Not wanting the boil to go it alone she waved herself in shyly before sending in her March Hare to help attack. She hated battles but after winning a few with her past party she was much more confident. After releasing the mini Lute barely dodged the snakes tail, tripping she took some damage only to heal herself soon after.

ShadowStalker happen to stumble on the battle the red gryphon was having, and spotting one of her own under the banner of the white queen. Tilting her head, she arches a brow when she realize the gryphon she just helped out. Frowning she shook her head wondering if just had a talent for finding problems?
Summon her Timekeeper, she smiles to the minipet "Sorry, but I will need your help." she tosses the minipet so it takes off ahead of her. As she goes in close once again, her Timekeeper does it best to keep attack off her while she pulls out her daggers and drives them into the monster. Flipping back, she lands inches away from the monster. It got a few licks on her but not enough.
Her hood was down again, the long black hair hiding her face once again for the most part "Be careful about that Gryphon, alright?" she nods to her fellow ally, then narrows her eyes on the red.

He was not alone. That much he could tell at least even if he had his attention focused entirely on the Snake before him. "You..." He recognised the White Caterpillar from his previous battle but said nothing more in favour of rushing his foe with his blade before it had a chance to target her or the White Dormouse. They could always engage in more conversations later if so desired.

When another player entered the battle she smiled faintly. Getting a bit nervous but pleased to see that she wasn't the only one to use a minipet to aid her. Her hooves beat the ground softly as she backed up, the hooded one defending her and then giving a warning. Glancing to the Gryphon she nodded faintly but didn't speak.
Should she really worry? Was he not nice?
Noticing they were both taking a few hits she summoned her strength and then with a flick of her wrist she sent a heal to the hooded ghoul. Pleased when it did its job she gave a look to the Gryphon that said he would be healed next.

Nodding a thank you to her ally, ShadowStalker clicks her tongue to send the minipet ahead once again. Keeping herself between the snake and her ally, the minipet did a great job in keeping it off her for the most part so she could keep the ghoul safe. Shifting her weight on her feel, she jumps up and slashed at the snake with a dagger.
But she wasn't quick enough, as it grabbed her by the hood pulling it away from her face and down. It tossed her for moment before she was able to get away with minimum damage. Seeing that ShadowStalker was in danger, BrotherOfWar quickly moved in to try to draw the snake's attention. "Fall back." He struck out at the snake with the hilt of his blade then simply stood there and gaped when he saw the White Caterpillar's hood drop to reveal the long black hair with pink highlights beneath.
No. It couldn't be.
It was a sight that he thought that he would never see again for the rest of his life. Was it a mere coincidence? Possibly. Once the snake was properly disposed of, he had every intention of finding out just who exactly ShadowStalker was.

What was going on? Did they know one another? She was tempted to ask, tempted to pc the one in the hood but didn't. Instead she held her tongue and went into her own world. Healing the boil first she nodded to herself. Focused on the battled she started to attack, picking up a rock to throw at the snake and much to her surprise sinking it down the beast throat and managing to choke it ....
to death.
It was her first 'kill' so to speak. GS's lip wobbled, she hadn't meant to kill it. She just didn't want to get ate. Rubbing over her eyes she sniffled trying to hide the tears that threatened to spill over. This had to be done she knew, to get the loot but still.

Death by choking on a stone?
BrotherOfWar blinked when he saw the snake literally roll over and die, the victory fanfare and the treasure chest that followed testimonial to the outcome of the battle itself. Unexpected but he supposed that that would work too. "Both of you did well. Thank you..." He picked himself up and directed a small smile at the White Dormouse, crossing over to collect his reward from the chest before letting his gaze fall on ShadowStalker.
"You... we need to talk."

Arching a brow towards the Gryphon, she frowns for a moment at his command "Excuse me...no we don't." she bent down to place her hand into the chest, only to feel the rush of exp flow through her. Not enough to level, but enough get halfway. Standing back up, she eyes the Gryphon again before she turns.
Without a word, she leaves.

GS waited for the others to take their loot before moving cautiously over. She didn't know if players could fight one another but didn't want to find out. Bending she picked up her share of the EXP shards and smiled faintly, still a bit shaken. It was time to get going again, she knew that Tavern was around here somewhere and she was gonna find it.
