Phoenix wandered through the forest, no longer looking for fights, but for her friends. And the guild place, ideally. She'd even settle for the tavern, but that seemed to eluding her now as well. With a loud sigh she kicked a stump (and ignored its complaints) and looked down at the white and red march hair that followed alongside her.
Mr. Tum Tums did not offer any advice beyond a solemn stare. Phoenix frowned back, just daring it to judge her. Daring it to make some comment about inefficiency. When it said nothing, she crossed her arms across her chest and nodded, "Yeah, that's what I thought."

Divinity had as much direction as was expected, that is to say, none at all. After running into the caterpillar he had found himself wandering aimlessly, still oddly aware of the void left behind by Butch's absence.
He had no idea where he was which was neither a positive nor a negative as he had had no idea where he was before either.
It was only when he spotted a familiar shock of red that he seemed to brighten up at all, donning his persona as if it had never been gone.
"Seems like we meet again" he said airily. "How've you been doing?" He had no idea where she had picked up a woodland creature like some manner of disney princess but he reasoned that it made sense, she picked up Russian immigrants and vagrants much the same way in the real world outside.

The gryphon brightened immediately when she saw the familiar face. She shot a look toward the hare as if to say See? I wasn't really lost at all. Focusing back on him, she looked Divinity up and down with a nod, "You're looking much better than last I saw. Probably just needed a good bit of fresh air." Phoenix glanced around at the woods happily, as if completely at home in the weird wilds of the game zone and not at all lost.
"Oh I've been dealing with a few quests, seeing about starting a guild, and working out this whole battle thing." Smiling she held up a hand, fingernails sliding out to reveal vicious golden claws, "The battles are pretty damn satisfying, gotta say. Plus I've got Mr. Tum Tums here" she nodded at the hare, "and he's hella good back up."
It preened and held a paw up for a fist bump, which she readily obliged.

Some people it seemed were not even dented by absurdity. America's sense of self had always been cast iron and it was interesting to see how readily that transferred over.
"Hah, well I feel a lot better. I'm really learning not to get too trusting of food or drink here." he looked impressed also at her comments about battles, eyes lingering on her claws. "I've not run into anything, I'm more of a lover than a fighter hahah. Competitive sport is usually as serious as I get. Even at home it's mostly research.
He gave her a playful smile. "I feel safer with you and Mr Tum Tum Tum about. Maybe I can learn I've always been an eager pupil"
She suited lethality a great deal.

"Yeah, those ******** mushrooms have been pissing me off, I still need to get that treasure," Phoenix groused at the memory. Goddamn bluebells. The lover not a fighter description had her giving him a flat look, but she warmed up to him once again when he proceeded to first praise her and then imply he'd be willing to learn from her.
"Well," she drawled, "I am kind of a badass, so I wouldn't mind showing you how it's done." She paused a moment, expression shifting to something a bit more serious, "Hey, while you were wandering about, did you run into anyone with a Russian accent?"

He swished his tail eagerly at the possibility of learning how to fight, freezing the coiled delight and his movements to give her a curious look for her question.
"Russian accent?" he looked thoughtful. "Now that you mention it I'm sure I met a guy back in the forest with a strange accent." It was a lie, but it implied he knew where Kostya was even if he did not, it gave him power, it gave him a bit of helpful mystery. He did a surprisingly close rendition of the other man's speech patterns. "Am not knowing this place." He nodded, reverting back to his normal voice. "Like that? I remember wondering where he was from."

For a moment Phoenix tensed and turned in the direction Divinity had come from, as if ready to leave him right then and there to continue her search. Then she relaxed, rocking back on the heels on her boots with a nod and a smile, "Sounds like him, yeah. How 'bout I show you how to kick some a** and then you can show me where you saw him."
Pulling out her tablet card she waggled at him, "This is handy if you wanna like, make sure of things, but mostly things just seem to react to your intentions. Make sure your cards are what you want them to be, and if you got one of these little pet things," she nodded at Mr. Tum Tums, "...then you should call it up. They'll definitely help you out in a pinch."

He simply watched her reaction, his smile faltering only as he felt it was appropriate at the premise of her departure, but it passed and she turned her attentions back to the matter at hand. "Sure, though it was a long time ago, I warn you, like way back at the beginning, before the tavern. But time works strangely here so who knows?"
Pulling out his own tablet card, he eyed it with some degree of concern. "You must be a wizard because I am so lost here." he prodded a few buttons and his own hare bounded up and stared at him. For a moment he stared back and said nothing at all, his expression frozen as if it was errored.
"Well there it is." and his tone was very much laden with an unspoken and long-suffering what have you wrought upon me.
Frowning a bit at the amount of time that had likely passed, Phoenix shrugged, "Still might be a trail. I'm good with that sort of thing, you know." In the distance, she noticed a familiar slithering movement, and both gryphon and hair perked up.
"Well looks like we've found ourselves a pinata!" She called out before dashing off to attack. "Don't you worry," Phoenix continued, after striking and getting knocked back, "I can defend like a boss, too!"

Lawr's first instinct when he saw the snake was to hang back and let his companion do all of the work rather than expend effort he could simply watch her work. But he needed to be an asset of some description, so that meant putting this fitter, in some ways better body to good use.
Calling up claws - of course - he moved to join her in the attack, striking with familiar precision, followed in suit by the diamond speckled march hare.

Hanging back to watch as he fought, she grinned at him, impressed with what she saw. "Dang, for the angelic sort, you've got some hellish moves, hun." Only taking a small swipe at the snake, the gryphon let Mr. Tum Tums head up the attack and spread her focus to defending the cheshire and healing herself.

He smiled at this. "I like to be hands on in anything I do." he said cheerfully, the happy bright tone in sharp contrast to the ruthless way he set about the snake, fighting the only way he knew how, though dearly missing Butch already as he did. The canine seemed to have a great number of instinctual reflexes that he did not.
He ducked sharp fangs only to have her fend off the worst of it. "Thanks!"

"Yeah? Gotta say..." Phoenix dashed in, her own claws punching deep into the snake's body, and grinning as victory music began to play loudly. "Me too." Crouching down she performed an elaborate fist bump ritual with her march hare. "See? Nothin' to it! Actually kinda relaxing you know?"
Straightening she gave Divinity a once over, "You're pretty good. What division you in?" A small chest appeared where the snake's body had once lain.

"Death." he said. He was tempted to say Sun, but he was aware that was her division or had been for some time and he didn't feel like being tripped up by questions on the bizarre cult of personality which went on over there.
He grinned at the snake and their own victory. "You kicked its a**." he said, more than happy to concede the victory to her.
His own march hare held up its own fist for a fistbump, mimicking its fellow and after giving it a brief, slow blink he offered his fist. "But it was certainly relaxing."
There was no hesitation at all as he moved to open the chest and was informed he had received yet another vaguely infuriating animal. Fantastic.
