He was probably the only person in the history of persons to cower at a plant.
Maybe if he tried talking to it - maybe if he could convince it not to eat him, that he was a good person (even if he wasn't) and that he was most definitely not worth eating (even if he was), AM would be able to get out of this mess and get out of this forest and maybe get away from this thing that was trying to eat him because plants should not be trying to eat people.
AM opened his mouth to say something, but the plant gave a shrieking snap of its teeth and lunged towards him, silencing anything he'd been about to say. He jumped sideways, gasping in surprise, and then stumbled backwards on his hands and feet trying to scoot away hastily.
"P-please don't h-hurt m-me," he said weakly. "I p-promise I d-don't taste g-good..."
He wilted more than the flower.

He tried another halfhearted attack, swinging uselessly towards the flower, but all it had to do was swat at him and he went down like a flower itself, crumpling to the ground like the terrible person that he was.
