He feels confident taking on his first fight solo. That's how it usually goes in MMOs, from the little he's played in the past. He'll find others to join up with later, for the bigger fights.

The tree is mouthy and hateful - it reminds him a bit of someone else he knows. There's a jolt of outrage in his head. 'Someone else' was listening.

Ah well, time to focus on the fight. He brings out the March Hare pet he'd found earlier, and they both attack. They're not a bad combo.

The tree withers away in a suitable overdramatic fashion. Dreadpirate dismisses the March Hare and glances around to see if the tree left any loot behind. There's no treasure, but when he checks his stats, he sees a small amount of experience points have been added.

He shrugs. He's alright with that.

Satisfied that he has the basics of battle down, he decides to see who else is around and interested in taking on a bigger challenge.
