The Coliseum
User Image

The coliseum is an oval (ellipse) with the outer measurements as follows: Length: 189 meters (615 ft) Width: 156 meters (510 ft) Height: 48 meters (157 ft). The inner measurements (arena area) Length: 88 meters (287 ft) Width: 56 meters (180 ft) Height: 4.6 meters (15 ft). Modeled akin to the coliseum in Rome, Italy. The interior of the arena is a simple pit of packed dirt, the thousands of seats available for many to view the happenings within. The arena itself is protected on the walls closing it in with runes, keeping the audience from potential danger of stray attacks and a wide range of damage. These runes also keep the foundation of the arena from being all but obliterated.

The Coliseum

_____Everyone in the crowd gathered to see the Main Man. Their spirits were full of worry and each one of them sat on the edge of their seats, eyes focused on the entrance, waiting to see if the psychic warrior could even continue into the next round. The duel against Eric Suyaa was devastating for both fighters. The muay thaiger may not have beaten the psychic warrior in the eyes of the judges, but those men destroyed one another. The moment of anticipation seemed to last forever.

_____The loud sound of glass shattering over the speakers silenced the crowd. Everyone looked in the direction of the coliseum floor entrance. The sound of glass breaking was followed by Unfamiliar theme music.

_____The psychic warrior came walking out to the dirt packed stadium floor with a microphone in his hand and all the swagger in the world restored to him. His body, save for his left arm and right for-arm, was covered in bandages. His Right leg was covered in a knee brace. Yet the biggest difference was the absence of the long black dreadlocks that he was known for. Instead, the flesh of the scalp was healed leaving a shiny light brown bald head. The only hair visible on the psychic's body was the black goat tee that framed his scowling expression.. The left crystalline arm seemed to be healed as well, after its abject destruction in the previous round. Rather than the wintegreen hue usually sported by the otherworldly limb, now it was a grim cloudy grey.

______At about half way down the aisle to the arena floor. He shouted at the unseen men in the sound booth.

"Cut the Music Goddamnit!", he barked in his deep gravely voice. The music immediately ceased and the crowd quieted down to hear the Main Man speak.

          "I got something to say!".

"I got something to say!"

"AYO! Don't nobody give a fuuuuck!" A disembodied voice echoed throughout the coliseum.

Members of the audience looked among the faces of their neighbors to try to spot the unknown heckler before noticing Elliot emerging from the opposite side of the ring. The metahuman lowered his cupped hands from his mouth to reveal a prankster's grin.

It was rude, but it's what everyone was thinking anyway right? These people, or at least Elliot's fans, didn't come to hear speeches or shitty music or none of that bullshit. Just the sound of steel on steel, flesh on flesh, or some combination of the two. And after his previous uneventful match, their appetites for destruction where nearly as whetted as Elliot's.

"We love you papi chulo!" A chorus of four or five hoes in the front row sang out. All of them wearing shirts with the Cuban's name printed across their supple chests.

"Elliot! Please ******** my girlfriend!" a guy yelled from another part of the arena. Depends. Maybe later.

For now, the only person Elliot was concerned with sticking something in was the baldilocks in front of him, taking his kama from it's sheath with his right hand. As he stood before his opponent, Elliot was less like a man, and more like a lion standing upright. A predator before a gazelle pack made up of one injured target.

Not yet attacking he would read the man's reactions from his comment, all the while giving him a look like "what you gonna do about it?"

The Coliseum

"...the ********>, the psion said as he was interrupted.

_____The psion stood tall at six foot four and looked to be well over 250 pounds of corded lean muscle. It was a body given to monstrous explosive strength. With hawkish eyes he gazed down menacingly at his opponent. His name was Elliot apparently based on the declarations of the ratchet females who sat in the nose bleeds. Tres did not know Elliot, nor did he give a damn.

_____A voice called out from the crowd requesting for his opponent to ******** his girlfriend. Clearly the individual who stood before him was a hero to sissies and punks who were into s**t like that. The millions whom chanted the Main Man's name were of a totally different ilk. Proud men and regal women of opulence regarded the psychic warrior as a hero entertainer, as a fighting god.

_____His blue eyes examined the kama. The man had already pulled a weapon and Tres could smell the fear in the act. It made him hungry for battle and once the challenge was issued, the fight began. When Elliot asked him what he was going to do about it, the psychic warrior did not answer with words but with actions. His bandage covered body moved with quicksilver alacrity, flowing out of a neutral stance into combat readiness without effort.

_____The microphone dropped from his right hand, and something grew in its place. A green glow throbbed within the top of his left hand. In that moment, tendrils of light surging with power faded into reality, multiplying and intersecting forming the mesh of a translucent shape. With a pop of light the hollow shape filled with an emerald green liquid material that writhed like flame within the confines of its shape. Suddenly in the right hand was a crude spear as tall as the psychic warrior, held at the center of the shaft.

BOOF, the sound of the microphone hitting the ground echoed over the speakers.

_____As the psion manifested the spear, he took a step to his left, arriving in a squared up stance, knees bent at the ready leading with his left foot. His crystalline cloud grey hand was held up on guard, partially extended before him. The spear holding right hand was held low along the hip, with the spear pointed forward towards the opponent. His lithe footwork carried him over the dirt pack ground, with equal parts speed and balance, in an arching path to engage Elliot outside of his forward line of attack at a slight angle to the right.

_____When Tres got into range, he performed a quick jabbing thrust aimed to pierce the opponents right abdominal oblique. While Tres would be within reach of his spear, he would still be outside of the opponents reach with the kama. Though that could change depending on the enemies reaction.

Tres may not have known Elliot, but after the events that would transpire over the next few minutes, Tres would never forget him, as the "fighting god" would soon fall to the mighty unbeliever.

As baldy and spear drew closer Elliot clenched the shaft of his kama with white knuckles, pleased to have stirred his opponent out of wasting everyone's time. Things were going at his pace. Quick.

As implied by his legion of groupies, Elliot was in great shape. Standing at 5'11 Elliot wasn't quite as totally ripped as his bulky opponent. But that's ok, cause speed was more of his thing. With out a doubt Tres was really big and strong, and also fast too, but Elliot was faster. As a homeless street fighter on the streets of Durem, Elliot was known for his quick hands which would pocket items faster than bodega security cam's shutter speeds, shoplifting food in between frames.

As Tres and his stabbing weapon approached, Elliot rose his kama before him and planted his feet, left in front, readying himself for Tres' eventual stab.

Then it came, sure as s**t. Elliot's kama struck the spear, just below it's blade, scooping to his opponent's outside. The vibranium rings around it's shaft leeching the kinetic energy that Tres may have overpowered the meta human with. After the weapons collided, Elliot would draw upon his manipulation of light, raising his free left hand to emit a blinding flash of light. The close distance and rich luminosity combined were probably bright enough to permeate the thin skin of the eyelid, or so he bargained.

He would follow up the flash, taking a step forward and snapping a front kick at Tres' damaged knee, the front his steel toe boot nearly destined to bust that b***h wide open.

_____Every rippling cord that made up the psion's prodigious musculature was exemplary not only because of its raw power but its control. The psion's body was rife with ectoplasm, creating a strange pearly subdermal texture that was visible only at certain angles in the light. It gave him his otherworldly appearance, but also, they acted as a mass of neural networks giving those muscles a supernatural amount of control. Mental energy coursed through the running river of silvery blood that pumped throughout his body.

_____With a single breath releasing strange starry vapors he followed through with the thrust of his jab. His spear holding right hand came forward while tucking the rest of the crude weapons shaft under his right arm. He flexed his back, shoulder and arm muscles, stiffening his hold. Something unexpected would happen when Elliots Kama struck the spear. Rather than the spear being scooped up to his outside*, a length of the spear just beneath its head simply broke off. Like a petrified tree in the wind stiffening his hold, caused the spear to break against the force rather than being moved. By giving way to the power Elliot applied and the Kama's apparent supernatural nature, his attack would be shortened rather than diverted.

_____Like a whisper in the wind he followed through with the thrust of his jab, into a short hop forward. Several subtle but strange things happened in that moment. The Crystal Grey left of the psychic warrior grew with jagged spikes as his the limb pulled up to his face in a tighter protective boxing guard. The limb was now a grizzly thing, overgrown with a dense thicket of translucent cloudy spikes. Tres's eyes closed behind his tucked guard as the flash exploded from the opponents raised left hand. The bright flash of light was unexpected but it was softened behind the green translucent limb and thin piece of skin over his eyes.

_____The light still obscured his vision, if only for a moment. It did not matter, because Tres's strike had already been placed. Tres and Elliot came forward towards one another. The blow was poised to strike true when the proximity between he and his opponent finally closed.

______The broken end of his spear and the exposed right ribs came together and would likely collide. The resulting wound would not cut deep due to the broken end of the spear, but it would cause an ugly gash and with the weight of the psions frame behind it, break a rib.

______At the same instance of the step the opponent's front kick thrust out for the braced knee. Just like the spear, rather than resisting and incurring further damage the steel toed boot crashed just beneath the right knee and into the hardened shin. Rather than buckling, the leg would simply be knocked back due to its elevation off of the ground, leaving some torn skin on the right shin from the steel of the boot against flesh.

_____After the impact of the steel toed boot and the attempted stab with the broken spear. His body would not descend from the forward hop as expected but as distance closed into hand to hand range it appeared that the psychic was slightly suspended a few inches off the ground from his hop as his momentum carried forward. His hawkish blue eyes shimmered alongside the emerald green third eye dot.

Elliot immediately noticed when his block was not met with the anticipated resistance.

Continuing the motion of his swipe, Elliot would pivot at his waist in an unsuccessful attempt to evade the jagged shaft. Though the metahuman was struck by the blow, the point of the spear would be redirected as it struck the curvature of Elliot's torso. Damaging him, but not the show stopper Tres was probably hoping for. Elliot gritted his teeth and continued through the pain.

Elliot's kick would commence as planned, the steel boot hitting it's fleshy mark. As Tres continued to progress towards him, Elliot immediately read something supernatural in the works, and prepared himself accordingly.

After creating the flash of light, Elliot would rest his left hand on the grip of his ninjato sheathed on his right. His previous evaision attempted served dual purpose of coiling his body to soon lash out with a quick draw swipe.

As the distances closed he would gage their distance, a red heat boiling behind his eyes as he prepared to make his opponent regret engaging him if his kick hadn't already.

______Silver blood trickled down from the shallow wound left on the psion's right shin. He was bothered little by the graze of the opponents steel toed boot. The warriors traded movements at a dizzying tempo, leaving the crowd mystified at their martial prowess. Elliot would be forced to evolve as a fighter here and now if he was meant to survive against one such as the Main Man Tresondros Ecstuffuan.

_______At the last minute the opponent turned his waist* to avoid having his ribs shattered by the impact of the broken spear. It was a wise move but the psion was thinking ahead. His vision returned from the flash and his momentum suddenly slowed to an eventual stop in mid air, maintaining the kicking distance that Elliot had previously established. Elliot's left hand came down for the hilt of his Ninjato and the psion responded.

_______His leading left foot came up to plant itself on the outer forearm-wrist area of the opponents left hand just as it grabbed the hilt of his blade. The Ninjato was a straight sword and unlike the katana it needed more room to draw. His left foot on the left side of the opponent's left wrist* would prevent him from extending the arm and drawing the blade. Tres's right hand would come up off of the broken spear, letting it evaporate into grey effervescent vapors.

______With his opponent's left hand down on his right side and his right arm up to his right after following through with the swipe, the back and left side of the opponents head was left defenseless. The gemstone planted in the top of the psion's left hand would glow with light. Stepping up with the foot hold on the opponents left arm with his left foot, Tres turned his body in a counter clockwise turn, performing a mid air low muay thai roundhouse kick to the back left side of the opponents head. This was a technique known as the Glimmering Warlock, a classic signature move of the psychic warrior that won him battles in the fabled Heaven or Hell.

______During the strike, the silvery blood that flowed out from the limb seemed to harden around the shin, covering it like some sort of shell. Just before impact the bleeding right shin would be covered in a sheath of crude spiky grey crystal, looking similar to the garish left arm.

______The bleeding left shin would chop down at its target delivering a blow with knockout strength. The power of the kick came from the twist of the hips and the tight arc with which it was thrown. Rather than coming across, the kick came down at an angle swinging down like an axe at its target. The hard spiky steel like crystal that covered the limb would result in an impact akin to that of a bar mace or some other medieval implement. Hitting the back of the head would leave the opponent concussed and vulnerable for a follow up attack.

(Correct, my bad.)

If Tres was confusing Elliot's low-key profile with novice-status he was seriously mistaken.

It was alright though, the street punk loved being underestimated. It set him up for perfect situations like these.

Before they squared off, Elliot had done his homework, and kept his ears to the street. In the hours before his fight, he dialed up the homies "Yo, what can you tell me about this Tres ********> He had seen the highlight reels of Tres ******** people up using moves just like this.at HoH, a world-class tournament in which Elliot had also competed.

As Tres came down with his attack, the fire in Elliot's eyes would manifest itself in a very real way. What Tres had taken for a defenseless target was probably Elliot's most offensively destructive limb, as Elliot would release a red torrent of concussive force from both his eyes.

"PZZZZZZYRT!"

The eye beam jolted out on a collision course with Tres' right ankle, bearing force comparable to a roundhouse kick. It was Elliot's intention that the lightning fast beam to reach the target area before Tres' protective goop, but he left nothing to chance.

Using an old trick he used to do to free himself from handcuffs,Elliot would contort his hand and suck in his stomach, allowing him enough space to free his hand which had been pinned to it.

Once free, the hand would immediately turn on it's captor, using the quick hands of a pickpocket to clutch Tres' left ankle.

Tres dun' ******** up.

The Coliseum

______When fighting in Gaia-Prime one had to be ready for the unexpected. The crystalline sheath that covered the right shin had grown in time for it to be implemented in the strike. When vibrant red exploded forth from Elliots eyes the psion grimaced as the tremendous force crashed into the spikes along his right leg. Yet his expression soon returned to one of calm confidence.

______The leg maul shattered almost immediately after absorbing the brunt of the attack. A sound like steel against steel resonated through the arena as the shattered crystal faded into starry effervescence. Still elevated by internal forces, what had been a counter clockwise turn to bring the right shin against the target was thrown in the opposite direction when the psion rolled with the massive impact of the eye beam.

_______Turning in a clockwise turn, he visualized the image of a simple cylinder. He also seemed to recognize the contortions of the opponents left hand. Tres was no slouch in sleight of hand and could recognize the attempt to escape the pin. The moment the red beam hit his right leg, he pulled his left foot back whilst the opponent contorted his hand. The image of that simple shape appeared in a small holographic emerald projection above his left hand. In the next moment the psion held a simple bo staff perpendicular to the ground, six and a half feet in length with his right hand around the highest section with the lowest section pressed into the dirt packed ground.

_______When the opponents left arm went to grab for Tres's left ankle, the psion utilized his clockwise momentum, his grip on the spatially affixed crystalline staff, his incredible core and back strength, and his supernatural sense of balance, to pull his lower body up and over his head in a one armed hand stand on the top of the crystalline staff. The attempt to grab his ankle would miss as the limb pulled up out of range of the grasp. Such a feat was a testament of his peak human athleticism, balance, and control and would be the marvel of any gymnast.

_______His gaze had never left the opponent, even as he held himself aloft atop his crystalline staff, upside down. His left hand reached for the gemstone dials beneath the brown bracer of his right forearm, twisting one for some unknown end. His right shin was still bleeding but it would become apparent that the protective sheath had been their in time to save himself a broken leg from the blast of concussive energy.

_______The crowd became even more enthralled at the sight of the dazzling display of acrobatics and the cool ease with which it was performed.

The metallic cling that resonated in his ears told Elliot that he hadn't stuck flesh, but at least his opponent was on the retreat. The crowd didnt seem to mind either, writhing with excitement at Elliot's light show.

The moment Elliot's grasping hand struck air, his eyes would shift their focus on Tres' right hand, which supported his body atop the staff. Without missing a beat he would fire a second beam, this one slightly weaker than the first, with damaging potential roughly that of a forceful punch.

"PZZZZZZYRT!!!" The energy screamed above the roar of the crowd.

Tres would have just settled his delicate balance on the staff as the crimson stream came upon him to knock him from his perch.

As this happened Elliot would reset his guard, right foot leading. His left hand was empty at his side as his right clenched his kama.

Pope stood at the ready, just in case his opponent should outmaneuver the stream of light.

_____The left hand went down to the right fore-arm to turn the dials at the bottom of his right bracer. The thick spiky limb arrived in place but was struck away before he could turn the dial after a second volley of concussive power struck the psion's left hand. Shards of crystal fell away from the limb where the red beam struck.

______Rather than trying to fight the concussive impact of the blast, Tres would simply flow with it. Using the momentum granted to him by the impact, he fell backwards along with the staff which would be parallel to the ground at the end of the fall. The psion fell in a crouched stance around 8 or so feet from the opponent, turned to his right leading in a side stance with his left.

______Tres took up the staff in his left hand three feet up length up the shaft, holding the point aimed up in the direction of the opponents chest. If the opponent did not decide to rush him immediately after the landing, Tres would rise and start into a circular path around the opponent outside of his forward line of attack to his left and to the opponents right. His footing would transition into a more squared stance, footwork performed in small quick shuffling steps.

______Unseen forces worked at the crystalline material of the staff as he moved. Transforming the staff into another spear but this time a weapon of much higher quality. Artistic designs were etched like tribal totems beneath the length of the 6 inch long leaf shaped spear point. A long ruby red hair like sash hung from the shaft just beneath the spear point.

______With his long spear Tres only needed to take a single step forward before he would be within striking range but the same could not be said for the much shorter kama that the opponent wielded. While Tres did not immediately attack, he was ready to strike.

As Tres was knocked back and away, Elliot would pursue him, but not immediately.

The meta filled his lungs with air, and his body with energy, gathering the ambient forces of the sun's rays and consolidating them with his own. Though he lived in society's shadow, the sun's light gave him power, and with the open air arena, Elliot was fully immersed in his element. He could feel the power tingling inside his muscles, warming him from the inside out. It was like a drug.

Staring down at Tres with red eyes Elliot would pick up the pace one more, charging his opponent full speed. Armed with only relatively short-range weapons, he figured his opponent would strike before he got the chance, but that didn't mean that Elliot couldn't try to stir him.

Entering Tres' striking range Elliot would fire another red lazer from his eyes, aimed at his opponent's face. Unlike his previous volleys, this blast would have no affect on his enemy, except a mild disorientation if it connected with his eyes. It was a ruse, a hologram, crafted from El's mastery of light, but with the memory of Elliot's previous attacks still vivid, he hoped Tres would be tricked into reacting.

_____Blast of energy from Elliots eyes, flashes of light from his hands, produced a theme within the mind of the psychic warrior. Though, not enough information had been gathered to produce a concrete idea of the nature of his opponents superhuman abilities. However what Tres did know was that those blast of light were proceeded by a red glow of the opponents eyes.

_____Elliot attempted to evoke a response out of the psion by rushing forward at full speed. However, there wasn't much that Tres needed to do, because the opponent had done the majority of Tres's work for him. The point of the spear had been pointed at the opponents chest, already set against his forward charge. So when Elliot rushed in. Tres pushed off of his lead left foot, taking a sliding step back, bending his knees into a half crouch.

_____Simultaneously Tres thrust the spear forward, sliding the shaft of the spear through the grip of his crystalline left hand. The spear would be held at the base of the shaft in the left hand. The awesome grip and tonal strength of the crystalline left arm would hold the spear with an unusual amount of leverage despite its extended position.

_____The result of this action would cause the red beam to fly clear over Tres's head, missing its target. The opponents forward lunge would result in him running himself through on Tres's extended spear after the first step forward. The weapons six foot length combined with the full extension of the leading left arm would cross the eight foot proximity between he and the opponent. The preternaturally sharp spearhead would slam up at an angle beneath the sternum and straight up into the heart.

_____Either the opponent was insane, running straight into a spear set against his charge or Elliot knew something Tres did not. Tres did not believe this attack would be effective but he wanted to lure the opponent into a place where Elliot felt he had the advantage. Following the thrust, Tres would let go of the end of the spears shaft with his right hand, bringing the bottom of his forearm to his mouth. He bit down on one of the gemstone dials beneath the leather bracer and would turn the right arm to give it a twist.

_____On the off chance that the opponent did not in fact just run himself through on Tres's spear by rushing straight forward towards him, Tres had a plan and he would be ready.

As Elliot advanced he half-expected Tres to have something up his sleeve, but as the spear kept it's forward position and Tres sunk down, Elliot would block it. Obviously.

His pumping arms, already at his chest level would be at the ideal height for dealing with the oncoming spear. As Tres lunged forward Elliot would catch the weapon in the right angle between the shaft and blade of the kama in his right hand. The kama would redirect the spear to Elliot's left, his body twisting with the motion to help further remove his organs from the spear's line of attack, though Elliot was surprised by his opponent's agility despite his highly damaged knee.

The altogether movement would place Elliot on Tres' outside, as he continued his rapid pace. (Edited portion) In two paces that separated the men, Elliot would find ample time and space to draw the ninjato sheathed at his waist.

The young thief would draw the short sword in the blink of an eye and its glimmering silver edge would hopefully turn red as Pope swung it at his opponent just above belt line.

The motion of the attack would be a continuation of his draw, moving from Tres' right to his left.

With Tres' spear still hooked with Elliot's kama and his right hand at his head, Elliot was set on bisecting his opponent like a dead frog in science class.
