User ImageNight had fallen, the moon a silvery beacon in an otherwise clear sky. Stars twinkled here and there, complimenting the moon's velvety black backdrop. It was a beautiful night, and the small band of reavers and their captain had settled down for the evening. They had had a rather successful viking. Though no thralls had been taken, they had found a rogue band who had traded furs and feathers for trinkets and baubles.

They were two, perhaps three days from home, and Bruten could not sleep. Rising to his feet, he padded through the snoring heaps of reavers. Perhaps a walk would help clear his mind. His thoughts were running rampant, most of them troubling. He could not quiet them, and it frustrated the dark lion.

Silently moving away from the sizable group of Stormborn, Bruten traveled a short while before coming across a small watering hole. The glass-like surface of the water reflected the moon's gleam, and Bruten watched the arcs and ripples of the small, clear pond in silence.

There was something soothing, relaxing, and utterly freeing about the nighttime. Mjusi reveled in her nocturnal habits, giving herself a lazy bath not too far from a nearby watering hole. She had no real plans...until the breeze changed and brought a new scent with it.

A strange lion. Pale green eyes narrowed in interest as the lioness gave herself a few last licks of a bath before getting to her feet. The grass around the small pool was not too disimilar in color from her hide in the darkness, making it a superior hiding place. Now that she'd risen, however, she stood silhouetted above the waving fronds.

She could see the dark shape of another lion, and her lips curled in a smile as she noticed the unmistakable fuzz of a fully grown mane. A male! How delightful. She hadn't...passed time...with a male in quite a few moons.

This was going to be fun. The question was...how should she approach him?

Hmmm. In order to not offend his manly sensibilities, she supposed the best route would be to allow him to notice her first, before she made any moves. She wouldn't want to scare him away. Not yet, at least.

The full moon illuminated the small pond, and Bruten paused to lap at the water's edge. The small drink soothed his throat and with a low, purring sigh, Bruten rolled his shoulders back as he worked the kinks free from his neck. As he straightened, a slight movement caught his eye.

A female.

He did not immediately speak. There was something mysterious about the entire setting, and Bruten allowed himself to enjoy it, just for a moment. She was facing him, and he was facing her. She appeared shapely enough, and Bruten felt a shiver of anticipation tremble down his spine. Time passed as he watched the lioness, his odd eyes glinting in the dark.

When he did finally speak, his voice was low and rough.

"You are alone?"

Ah, this couldn't be going better if she'd planned it. Mjusi could hear interest in his voice, and she reveled in the knowledge that it was directed at her. There was nothing, she'd discovered, that she liked more than being admired and appreciated.

Well, there were things she liked more, but they all involved closer contact. Which meant it was time to make a bit of a move.

The lioness took a few steps closer, slowly, swaying her body as she walked. She wasn't quite smiling, but there was no doubt that her expression was one of amusement.

"Not anymore," she informed the dark male as she came near. Mjusi was too smart to give him a wink, that was just crude. Instead she kept her gaze steady, stood fairly still, save for the gentle motion of her tail.

Bruten had never been fond of games. He was a lion who took what he wanted, said what he wanted and usually did as he pleased. If she'd been unwilling to speak with him, or had answered any other way, Bruten would likely have taken what he'd wanted without a second thought.

She hadn't, and so Bruten stepped closer, nostrils flared with keen interest. He appreciated a fine female form, and despite the fact that he was betrothed, Bruten had a hunger. A beast inside that was rarely sated, clawing and ravenous.

Her words brought a slight smile to his muzzle. This was not about romance, nor was he seeking a love to test the span of time. This was about nothing more than spending a few hours with a female for no other reason than his own satisfaction.

"Mmm. Now that you are not alone, what happens next, then?"

Oh yes, he was definitely interested. And she appeared to have struck just hte right tone for this lion as well. Well and good. The question now was how to best respond to his new query.

With some lions, she would fill the silence with suggestions not meant for the ears of cubs. With others she would simply take the first move. But if she read the dark male aright, he was one who would insist on dominating from the start. In that case, it was simply best to flow with his desires.

The actions were easy enough to determine. It was the words that Mjusi found more difficult. Still, she thought she had found the right response.

The green lioness came closer until she stood mere pawlengths from the dark male, her hooded eyes calm and amused. "Now my companion makes his move," she invited the lion.

A thought arose in the back of her mind - if she had a partner and they were looking to trap, capture, or torment others, this would be an excellent signal for said partner to attack. That wasn't her goal at the moment, nor did such a partner exist, but the striped female filed the idea away for a later day.

He was utterly intrigued. Bruten did not even stop to think he might very well be stepping into a trap. Even if he had, it would not have prevented him from taking the steps he did, the steps that brought him ever close to the female that stood before him. Bruten did not offer his name as he walked past her, his sides barely brushing against hers as he rounded behind her so that he could move back to the place where he'd only just vacated.

There was no need for names, not here. Not now, and most certainly not with her.

"Come with me, then, into the tall grass."

His voice, silky and heated, did not pose a question. Bruten's words were nothing short of a thinly veiled command.

Ah yes, she had read him aright. A lion who would see his masculinity undermined if a female took charge. Luckily for him and his poorly supported self-esteem, Mjusi wanted the same thing he did. Else she'd never consider obeying the relatively unsubtle command.

"It will be my pleasure," the green lioness replied throatily. Ah, double entendres, how she adored them. LIfe would be so much more boring if words and phrases only had a single meaning.

She took a few slow steps towards the tall grass, keeping an eye on the dark lion, and a subtle smile on her face.

Bruten led the female into the tall grass, and words became unnecessary. There was little thought in the Reaver's mind for the future of the female. He did not care what happened beyond the night they shared in the here and now. She were a passing fancy, mysterious and beautiful and deliciously willing. She appealed to Bruten in a fantastic way, and it was thrilling in its simplicity.

Bruten chuckled as he disappeared in the shadows cast by the threads of grass, the sound rough and rusty but filled with a deep humor.

"Indeed," his voice was a whisper, and Bruten was cocky enough to think his methods of seduction were beyond compare. So irresistible was he, in his own mind, at least.

Oh yes, words were completely and totally unnecessary by this point. And while Mjusi was content to let the dark lion take the lead, the striped lioness was not shy about showing sparks of spunk here and there, surprising him with her...thoroughness.

She was well aware that they would likely never meet again, and didn't mind in the least. It was better that way. She had no need to be treated like a slave or lesser being every day. It was just that the lioness tended not to mind so long as she was respected and admired in the short term.

This was going to be a good night.
