Lance knocked on the door to Gabriel's apartment, as he shoved his phone and keys in his pocket. He had been recruited to help pack the teens stuff so he could move into Des' place, thus freeing the apartment up for Clary to use as her own place. "Guuuys Open up. Stop messing with the tape and bubble wrap already, we're going to need that!"

"Excuse you," Clary called, ducking out of Gabriel's room to go open the door. Her hair was up in a messy bun, to keep it out of her way while she worked on ferreting out every single possession of Gabriel's and actually getting her own apartment. "Come on in, we could use someone that can actually reach top shelves."
Gabriel peeked out of his room, smiling. "Hey, Lance, thanks for coming!" He said. "I really appreciate your help moving. It'll be nice to get out of here; two people in this place is way too much." It was a tiny apartment above a bookstore - it was definitely not meant for more than one person.

"Did you just call yourself short?" Lance asked, blinking at the shorter girl. "Because if you were trying to insult him... He's taller then you." He set a backpack against the wall before walking over. "There's some labels and stuff to help with the sorting in the bag.. You know how Ali gets. What did you need me to start with first? Besides the shelves that no one can reach." He said before the girl could repeat herself.

"I'm five feet tall, I'm objectively tiny," Clary said, stepping in and moving out of Lance's way. "Labels sound lovely, your boyfriend is wonderful and organized, please tell him I said so." Clary had to slide aprund a few boxes already in the living room, most of which were half-packed - with files and newspaper clippings and all kinds of miscellaneous papers, with books, even with clothes and random knicknacky objects.
Gabriel stepped into the living room. "Honestly, what would help me most is helping me get all my books - tall shelves or not. I've...got a ton." He wrinkled his nose a little.

"If I know Alistair-" And he did. "He's probably already sensed your praise and strutting about wherever he is like he owns the place." The blonde sighed. "So you really only need me for the shelves... I'm buying you both step ladders for your birthdays..." Whether they took him seriously, Lance didn't really care. He set about pulling the books from the taller shelves and fishing for any forgotten knick-nacks that might be stashed away.

Clary just laughed, ducking back into Gabriel's room to continue taking clothes out of the closet and drawers and fold them into a box. "Make sure he doesn't take all the kitchen equipment! I still need that!"
"Hey!" Gabriel protested. "I just don't have a lot other than that, really, I mean -- I didn't take a lot out of my parent's house when I left and I haven't been back since..." Since the police cleared him in the investigation of their deaths, and the house and its contents had officially become his.

"He shouldn't need it! Des should have all of this. And it's not like you couldn't harass one of us to help find you new stuff anyway." Lance yelled as he stuffed some of the books into a box before returning to the wall "I get it.. I'm joking. Relax. ....Well maybe for atleast. Clary might seriously need one. And as far as that... other thing, I get it. You don't have to explain that."

"Yeah, but I'd rather not have to go shopping," Clary said, her voice dry. "And I'll take that footstool, actually, if it's still on offer! I'm given to understand my birthday is in early June!"
"It was a mess, sorting things out," Gabriel sighed, and then he went into the bedroom, where instead of helping Clary, he started sorting through a desk's worth of papers and files, because apparently what he had already boxed wasn't the entire thing.

"Sweet heart, you might need a full ladder." That... or they'd just need to make everything Clary height. "Yeah... But have you gotten everything finalized that you needed too?" He called as he fished around the very top of the bookcase. He blinked when his fingers hit something. Pulling it down revealed it to be a small photo album. Turning it over, Lance began flipping through it before completely loosing it all together and laughing. "Oooooh Gabriel~..." He called. "Guess what I found...."

"That'll work too," Clary said, as she pulled the last of Gabriel's things out of the closet, folded them, and set them in the box. "Well, that's one project done," she said. "I could use some help to get this out of here, though!"
Lance's tone sent the color rushing out of Gabriel's face, and he darted into the next room, half-certain he already knew. "Oh god, which album is that," he said, rather than asked, pre-embarrassment already sinking in.

"I will get you a ladder then. I'll come get it in a moment when I'm done with this." Lance sing-songed as he flipped through the book. He grinned rather devilishly at Gabriel, holding the book up and wriggling it at him. "Which one do you think it is." He then thumbed through the pages again before one caught his eye, and he almost looked absolutely delighted about it. "Oh I remember this one... She had somehow turned you're hair redder and gotten you to parade around half nakked. By the way, you're still a horrible singer."

Clary ducked out of the room and, somehow, managed to wiggle herself over to the photo album. "Aww, Gabe, you make a pretty princess!" She teased, a playful grin on her face. "What is this, the dress-up album?"
Gabriel groaned, burying his face in his hands. "Don't even remind me. All of that was awful, ugh," he said. "Why did I always have to be the girl, anyway?"

"Something like that, it's more of the timeline of Gabriel's dignity slowly fading into non exsistance." Then he snickered as he watched Gabriel squirm. "Don't look at me. It wasn't my idea. Gabriel got made the girl a lot when we were little cause he sounded like one..."

Clary laughed, sliding a finger under the page, and flipping it.
As soon as she did, she wished she hadn't, because the next page was a picture of a girl with green hair and wearing a far too big black dress, leaning on Ariel!Gabe's sohulders and gesturing dramatically at the sky. Her thumb brushed over the picture.
"Is that...me?"
Gabriel froze as soon as the question came out, and words absolutely failed him. He looked to Lance to answer, because even a simple 'yes' was totally beyond him right then.

"That's uh, actually my cousin?" Think fast think fast, ******** what did he do. "Oh right! Okay I remember this now. Okay, so my cousin right? She's uhm... a little... uh... dramatic, to say the least. And uh, I guess she had some thing for preschool or whatever she was in at the time. And she ended up taking the paint and putting it in her hair. And since her hair's white, it really took a shine to the paint, even after scrubbing it out. I heard her hair stayed like that for a week."
Yep
That was his story and he was sticking with it.
