A cool breeze rustles the stubby dune grass, as sand and scrubland stretch out for miles around you. The night is young, and the desert is vast.

FIRST NIGHT

Everyone in your group is well rested.

The feeling of another oncoming WACKY weather system prickles your skin. With a feeling of dread, you brace yourself for the effects of… A soothing, balmy breeze. Aaah…
This weather effect will remain in play until the next dice are rolled.

Something glinting over a bluff catches your eye. A burrow in the side of the dune yields a bounty of shining golden beetles! And as they say, lucky beetles mean good fortune (and megabux$$$).
Each member of the group has acquired 1 lucky beetle that can be redeemed at the end of the meta for a variety of rewards. You cannot carry any more than 5 lucky beetles total; if you run into this encounter more than 5 times, you cannot collect any more.

A thick translucent blanket of dust appears ominously on the horizon. It looms closer and closer until finally a distinctive wind whips around its waves of sand and dust, creating a suffocating climate for everyone inside of the storm.
This weather effect will remain in play until a 1, 3, or 5 are rolled on a D6.

2,2
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

An overenthusiastic bouncebeast hops into view. You don’t pay it any mind at first, but when it starts to get closer—and closer—you realize that spring is in the air. The lovestruck beast assaults your group!
The bouncebeast has 1 HP, but has a +1 to avoid being hit (you will need to roll a 4 or above to hit). Every post in which the lovestruck bouncebeast has not been defeated incurs 1 point of damage to the group (as it wounds the group’s dignity in trying to hump their legs).

The pitter-patter of drizzly rain dot the sand with dark freckles. It’s pleasant at first, but soon the rain picks up pace. A roar of rolling thunder heralds a torrential rainstorm! Soon thick, heavy raindrops coat every surface in sight.
This weather effect will remain in play until a 1, 3, or 5 are rolled on a D6.

Upon encountering a heap of weather-ravaged rubble, you spot a familiar hoppity stump laying on the ground. Whether it’s a sign of the dangerous WACKY weather is irrelevant – any troll knows that bouncebeast hooves bring good luck!
Your group has acquired a lucky bouncebeast hoof! The hoof can be used to reroll one dice roll during the meta. When the use of the hoof has been announced, the most recent roll is thrown out and can be re-rolled. The lucky bouncebeast hoof is then discarded from the inventory.

Little pebbles of ice fall in sheets from the sky, and soon the little pebbles feel like veritable chunks of gravel, knives, and a bad case of hypothermia. The ice storm doesn’t seem like it’s going to let up—at least, it looks that way through the blinding shards of frozen awfulness that completely obscure your vision.
This weather effect will remain in play until a 1 or a 6 are rolled on a D6.

Passing through the desert, the only thing that is particularly interesting is the grim landmark of a set of lusus bones half-buried in the desert sand. This is not the lusus you’re looking for! Carry on.
Look, there’s a little troll skeleton beside them... Aww!

You find a peculiar desert creature snuffling around in the sand! The poor little guy seems pretty bewildered by all of this weather stuff, so you decide to give it a warm pocket to cling onto.
Your group has adopted the multi-limbed gerbil! After the meta, each member of the group can bring their own special friend home.

GROUP INVENTORY:

Eostre, always gracious and generous to the lowbloods, had been harboring her sweet little friend Tierte in her hive while Tierte's mountain hive had flooded from the recent onslaught of melting snow. When Eostre visited her moirail, she'd found the little redblood sitting on piles of rusted machinery above the water in her cave... Eostre had no choice but to offer a place in her hive for her moirail!

And when the chance arose to help track down the wayward machine that'd caused the weird weather (in other places, Four Fronds was clearly fine!), and fix it all, she brought Tierte along too! Now, she scanned the desert, Tierte at her side with her lusus.

"Dear Tierte, do be sure to keep close to me. The desert is vast and absolutely crawling with dangerous rebels, I'd bet. I'd hate to see anything happen to you, you know." Eostre side-eyed Tierte's huge lusus, always accompanying the paranoid child. "I'll keep an eye out for anything, of course," she said, feeling inside her hoodie's pockets to be certain her brass knuckles were there.

And naturally, as she said that, she spied a thick cloud of dust in the distance which quickly engulfed them. "Ugh!" she grunted, and covered her face with her arms, trying to block the sand from her face. Utterly disgusting, a moment into the journey and already dirty and sandy.

GROUP INVENTORY:

Although Tierte had been rather unhappy with the whole situation - being taken to murder capital city Four Fronds, her hive flooded, being stuck in the desert with the crazy highblood - she did find something to be excited about. They had given her a huge rope! It was a net for catching something, she didn't really pay attention to that part, she just stared excited at the beautiful rope they gave her. It was so big! And clean, not like the ropes she usually found. And it was all hers to use on the thing. Was strangling it an option or did she have to be older to do that? She wasn't quite sure, and didn't really want to ask the blueblood if she knew. Tierte could try when they found it, and then see if she was reprimanded...

She listened to the blueblood's words and made a face, walking close to Lynxmom. Lynxmom was all the protection she needed. What did Eostre have anyway? Metal knuckles? How would that stop the rebels or the monsters. Still, she didn't want to be caught by rebels, or get stranded in this awful desert. Tierte just wanted to go home, which she apparently couldn't do until they fixed the weather.

Tierte pressed her face into Lynxmom's side, allowing soft fur to protect her against the dust. See, like she said, she didn't need anything but Lynxmom to be safe. As she waited, the storm died down. Gone as quick as it came.

"Come on, let's keep looking for the lusus."

REFRESHING REST POST

Everyone in your group is well rested. Your group recovers three stamina, to a maximum of five! Your group recovers 13 hp, if you were previously at zero!

Not weeks after Bloodfest, a familiar snowfall begins to accumulate on the ground, and then rapidly accelerates into a snowstorm. Between the snow, sand and a rapidly changing WACKY sky, it’s nearly impossible to keep track of up and down, let alone a white lusus in a snowstorm.
This weather effect will remain in play until a 1, 3, or 5 are rolled on a D6.

1,3
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

The group decides to take refuge in a cave far in the distance. Taking the trip was well worth it, and even though you’ve lost some time in the night, the cool air is really quite refreshing.
The group can choose to spend some time bonding in the cave. Hanging out in the cave for 3 posts will result in everyone in the group regaining 1 stamina!

Out of the storm emerges a very disgruntled wet bedraggled desert sandcrawlinglizardbeast! It has no intention of humoring more desert interlopers. Or maybe it's gotten confused and thinks its a tornado.
The sandcrawlinglizardbeast has 10 HP. The group takes 3 damage each post it hasn't been defeated yet.

What’s this? A piece of the WACKY? A part of a ship? A discarded Greasy-Bake Condescension Oven? Whatever it is, it’s pretty beaten up, but the tech looks significant. You decide to pick it up just in case.
Your group has acquired a pile of charred technology! Each troll in the group gets one, and is recommended to hang onto it, you never know what it will be useful for.... You cannot carry more than one charred technology.

Plop. Plop. Something drops from the sky, landing over the hill. Another flops into the sand nearby, making an unpleasant squelching noise. Plop—splat. At your feet, the grey, gooey eye of a fish stares back up at you. Plop. A mackerel. Plop-plop. A few sardines. Plop plop plop plopplopploploplopopop—FISH RAIN!
This weather effect will remain in play until another weather effect is rolled. Players may roll 2d4 for their regular item, location and lusus encounters, but will be plagued with a constant fishy invasion until then.

Tierte clutched her net, a bit reluctant to throw it. This net was the only thing keeping her safe from the harsh outside world.
After thinking it over for a split second Tierte threw the net in a attempt to trap the lusus, hopeful that it wouldn't come after her.

"Come along Tierte, there's plenty of desert to explore," she said with a wave of her gloved hands.

Tierte spied it first, the little bit of machinery on the ground. Excitedly, she rushed forward, her looming lusus at her side, and went to inspect it. She wasn't sure what it was, but it must be important! Maybe coming outside isn't so bad if you get ropes and machine pieces, she thought to herself.

(Sorry about the roll, we forgot the roll prompts changed!)

Tierte still wasn't talking, even though she totally out of nowhere rushed off? She had a piece of junk (didn't she have enough of that at her hive?) and seemed pleased with it for whatever reason. Eostre picked up another piece of it (a smaller one) and put it in her pocket. She figured it was part of the WACKY, and maybe she'd need to fix it? Or make Tierte do that, since that's what lowbloods are for.

She'd probably be mad at Tierte if she wasn't glad she wasn't just writhing on the ground hissing at her or something ridiculous like that. Eostre was certain it was her more... elegant influence finally taking effect. She shrugged. "Maybe this junk is important, so be sure to not lose it."

The fast beast was back, and now that Tierte knew she got her rope back, she was less reluctant. It was almost exciting. She threw the rope at the lusus again with a grunt, so that the blueblood could go hit it again, while she safely retreated to Lynxmom's side.
