Abilities:
Natural Abilities:
- Nightslayer - A move that Ren almost never uses due to a dislike of the attack, it cuts through the opponent with a quick slash, whether the weapon being used is hand or blade. This slash, instead of harming the opponent physically, drains their energy and consumes it, replenishing the user's energy with it. Some say it accomplishes this by eating bits and pieces of the target's soul. It is a unique ability that was said to have been lost when the great lord Satoshi passed away, but reappeared along with Ren.
Augmented Abilities:
- Heroic Eyes of Perception - The mark of one whose humanity has extended past time and space, these brilliant blue eyes shine with a luminescent glow. Nothing much can be said about them, as they show no signs of augmentation, besides their glow, but a single glance at them could tell anyone familiar with them that the bearer is not only heroic, but would give everything they have to protect another.
Continuous Abilities:
- Rebirth - Ren seems to be incapable of dying. No matter how he is killed or what method was used to kill him, he revives at another place with the same body each and every time, his first death being the exception to this. Ren believes that the only way for him to die is through old age.

Background
History:
Ren used to be a human that went by the name Inagi, a boy who had many dreams and aspirations. Writer, fighter, general helper, you name it and he wanted to be it. A bright lad that had a talent at just about anything one could shake a stick at. However, that innocent youth was corrupted, and spat out by the world. A group of people came to his home one day and burned it down to the ground with the young boy still inside. Inagi, too small and frail to escape the fire, burned to death within these flames. It was a slow, painful death as he was charred black by the embers that were set forth upon him. Why did they burn him down, why did these people suddenly come to his home and murder him? Was it random, just random bad luck? Inagi would not have any chance to contemplate this matter, as he slowly faded away from this world... and then he suddenly reappeared. Almost instantly, as if he had never been dead before, however he had been dead, eleven years in fact. And when he awoke, a woman stood before him, smiling down on him as he opened his eyes.
The woman quickly brought him up to speed. Placing him in front of a mirror, Inagi looked into its reflective surface and found a different boy staring back at him, a much older and very different looking boy. Who... just who was this? That answer was quickly given to him, the woman informing him that the person he was looking at was the demon king Hayate. Confused, Inagi questioned who this demon king was, and the woman explained. A boy who lost his father fifteen years ago, the demon king Hayate searched for an answer to his death. Eventually the darkness inside his own mind corrupted him and sent him on a path of destruction, causing him to become a being of darkness, a yokai. She then explained to Inagi that the body he resided in is what was left of Hayate after he abandoned his humanity and became a monster. Shocked, Inagi asked the reason for why he was alive again, which was answered with a rather easygoing attitude. It was his will, his drive to become something, that bound him to this world, making him easy to "pluck" from the ethereal plane of souls and return him to the world. There were at least four other candidates for this, but his had an innocence that shone over the others, and that was why she picked his.
So... the young boy lived once again, but what did that matter when it was so easy to die? To this, the woman shook a finger at and merely looked on at the boy. The body he currently resided in was immortal, or so she said. It would return to this world unharmed whenever he died, and during the moment of death it would disperse into particles and reappear somewhere else to prevent continuous death. That was why she was able to procure the body in the first place, as it had lived on as an empty shell after Hayate's abandonment of it. Of course, he was well unaware of the qualities of the body. In a sense, Inagi had become a pseudo-homunculus. His body was a human's... but his attachment to this world was through magic. Now that he was grounded in the body, he could not leave it unless he, himself, chose to. So, in essence, he was as real as he wanted to be. Eleven years... everyone else was old now, at least as old as him, and his family even older. Then again that did not matter, as he could not see them. The woman was quick to explain to him that he probably would not want to wander around much either, as Hayate had built up quite a reputation as a demon, and not the good kind. Wherever he went, Inagi would probably find nothing but animosity, merely because he had the same body... the same face as the monster that currently terrorized the world.
"This is another life for you, a second chance, but you must listen to my request." A journey is what she wanted him to take part of. To travel the world and collect items and maybe even heroes to fight against Hayate and his growing power. So that was the requirement for living in this world once again, to find others to stop this demon from growing strong and tearing it apart... well then what was he waiting for. To her surprise, he quickly accepted this task, being her harbinger for heroes. Even if he, himself, was not strong, he would find the strongest people in this world and gather them to protect it. Whether they be monsters or humans, he would want them to stand side by side and protect this world together. "The chance for failure is high, even if you gather a hundred heroes. You are aware, Inagi?" There was no doubt it was going to be, most likely, a futile effort. But why did that mean that they had to give up? "That's not my name anymore. It's Ren, Inagi died a long time ago."
