Catharix loved his life in the castle in his pride, there were servants, festivals, his family and drama always at his disposal for distractions. But that's what they were, constant distractions from the important things in life, and what those things were was a mystery to Catharix. His main source of pride was competing with his twin brother on everything and perhaps it was this pride that had blinded him. Upon a lengthy conversation with a Druid that was not aware of his royal bloodline, the reddish maned lion had a lot to think about and no quiet to do so in. With permission from his father, the lion was going on a 'quest' to a neighboring pride for information, but in reality it was an excuse for an escape.
Now far from the borders of his pride, Catha followed the trail of a wide creek idly, unaware of any dangers that may ensue. When the quiet began to bother him, he decided to talk it out.
"Family is the most important thing a lion could care about.. Right? Prisoners are in prison for a reason.. Father had to keep his own family safe. It's not my place to forsake my own father's commands.... I am no blood traitor.." He continued rambling, quite enjoying the sound of his own voice as if it were coming from the maw of his twin. "But what would I do if there was no Father to make the decisions?" The thought frightened him to his core, but from the fear came a sense of duty he was about to explore as he paused to take a drink from the stream.
