Carrion flew away from Ayr's peaks alone. He didn't realize how alone, until he landed on Eowyn's shores, wondering where he should go next. He'd already told his father he needed to set out on his own adventures, so he couldn't very well return to his usual home... Where he knew everyone and everything and his entire family lived. Carrion frowned a bit, kicking up a plod of sand. If he couldn't go home to rest after the long flight from Ayr, his first order of business must be to find someplace safe he could relax for a bit. His gaze scanned up and down the beach. No towns or cities as far as he could see... So it seemed unlikely that any two-leggers would disturb him if he should find a sandy hideaway to nap in...
With a dejected sigh, Carrion plodded away from the water, toward the grassy fronds that grew in the sand. He borrowed a few inches down, scooping out the sand to form a shallow nest for himself. He'd never slept with the sound of the wind and waves so close... Annd never so much in the open. SUre the grass would help shield him, but...
Oh well. There was nothing he cared to do about it now. He curled into the makeshift nest and closed his eyes, finding that it was surprisingly easy to drift to sleep...
When he woke, there was a strange weight on him. It wasn't really uncomfortable, just different. With a groan, he rolled onto his side, and whatever it was toppled off of him, landing with a squeak in the sand. Carrion bolted up instantly, alarmed by the foreign noise. When he glanced to it source, he spotted... a familiar yellow fuzzball. This thing... he'd seen it once before. It opened black eyes to look at him, and Carrion instantly scooped it toward him with an extended claw, pressing its fury body against his scales. This one... it had chosen him! Surely they were meant to be together forever!
