Gabriel was curled up on the couch with his boyfriend checking his phone when it occurred to him, and it was a very interesting revelation.
"Des, my birthday was a week ago," he said, and he broached it without much comment, because he had forgotten pretty thoroughly, and he wasn't sure Des had ever even known. Still, seeing the date as March 14 was a bit of a surprise - and it was genuinely strange to think that he was nineteen and should be in college.
Yeah, weird was the right word.

"And mine was in October." Des retorted as he switched out his media tools. There was a faint scribbling sound before he paused, and looked up. "....Don't tell me you forgot your birthday?" The purple haired boy set his stuff of to the side before leaning down a bit and looking at Gabriel's phone. "...Seriously how did you miss your own birthday?"

Gabriel exhaled, and then he looked embarrassed, tucking his phone back into his pocket. "Yeah, I uh, forgot my own birthday. It was on the third. It's not that big of a deal, I guess? I mean, I couldn't even remember it..."

"Good job." The older teen teased. "Yeah well... You've kind of been busy dealing with all that..." Des trailed off, waving a hand. "Drama..." He figured it was the best way to describe the literal s**t storm that had resulted in his relationship with Clary. The two were at 'war' so to speak, and Des had literally found himself in the middle of it. "If it's not a big deal to you, why bring it up then?" A stripped are moved to rest on the top of the couch as Des quirked a brow at the brunette who currently thought he was a pillow.

"Yeah, things have been insane lately," Gabriel agreed. He was going to have to have a sit-down with Clary and actually talk things out at some point, he really was. "I dunno, I just sort of...noticed. How I've gone eleven days without realizing, I don't know, so don't ask, okay?" He sat partway up, and then leaned in to plant a brief kiss on Des's lips. "I dunno, we could do something, even if it is late."

"I already asked." Des pointed out, meeting Gabriel half way. The teen hummed in thought, wondering what it was they could do. "Well then 'birthday boy', what do you want to do? Or rather, what do you want me to do for you?"

Gabriel raised his eyebrows. "Do I get anything I ask for? I mean, within reason, obviously," there were things he wasn't going to ask for, because it wasn't fair. And, well, he still wasn't always sure where they stood, even if things were better.

"You already have me in these damn jeans. I think we're already outside within reason." He doubted there was much Gabriel could honestly ask for that would surprise him... But Gabriel had recently started doing just that, so who knew at this point. "Ask away."

"Well, maybe a massage?" It was a half-joking request, but then, it actually sounded nice when he thought on it. Having someones' hands to ease his tired, sore back sounded like a very good thing.

Desmond blinked. And then he blinked again.
Yeah, that thing about Gabriel surprising him? Totally current.
"A massage?" Really? That's what he wanted? "Uh... Okay. Lay down and turn around." He mumbled as he shifted to set his things on the table before moving behind Gabriel and climbing over him. "...What in the world made you think of this?"

"It was the first thing I thought of, okay?" Gabriel said, and then he rolled over, stretching out on the couch. "I'm tense all the time lately," he said, and then he exhaled softly. "Also I just kind of like the thought of having your hands all over me."

"You are a weird little guy, ya know that?" There was the sound of knuckles cracking, and just as Des was about to start kneeding Gabriel's shoulders, the purple haired boy let out an awkward choking noise before hiding behind a hand, his glasses being shoved at an awkward angle. "...Do you even hear what comes out of your mouth sometimes?" He wondered if Gabriel realized what he just said, or how it could come off to someone else. "Angel, I am not complaining the slightest but uh... What." Des sighed, and slowly moved to work circles into Gabriel's shoulders.

Gabriel blinked, turning to look back at his boyfriend. "Uhm, apparently not," he said, and then it seemed to slowly dawn on him and his face turned red. He buried it in his arms, groaning. "I didn't mean - I mean, that's nice too, but - not what I was...I'm going to stop talking now."

Des broke into a laugh, leaning a bit on Gabriel's shoulders as he leaned down to kiss the brunette's head. "It's just in one ear and out the other with you isn't it?" He shimming a bit, sitting on the teen's legs as he slowly worked on the muscles in the boys body. "Relax Angel, you're tensing up and making this harder."

Gabriel whined, burying his face further into the couch below him. Alright, so maybe freaking out was eliminating the point of the massage, but it was hard to calm down when he was both embarrassed and, well, definitely thinking dirty thoughts. He exhaled and tried to relax, with some success.
