〠☾ Townhall was old, possibly the first constructed building that still stood. Granted, it had been remodeled several times over the decades, but at least it still held a sense of elegance in an otherwise simple town. Katrina had always enjoyed the architecture of the place, and so as she waited for a certain man to arrive, she studied the pillars and artwork inside. Luckily, it was summer time, so the weather was clear and energy costs were saved by opening windows. Kat's office was no exception, with the drapes pulled back, letting sunlight douse the room in a bright manner. Eventually, she moved to look out the window, hoping that her meeting, of sorts, wouldn't be delayed. She had gotten quite a bit of work piled onto her shoulders, so every minute counted when it came to her time among the Council and the hospital.

Artie Hopper Artie stretched a bit with a yawn as the Town hall came into view, glad he managed to find it rather quickly. In his hands, he held the letter that he had received the day before that had told him to come here, though the specifics weren't stated. "I wonder why I need to go there..?" He muttered as he unconsciously avoided any nearby women as he walked to the building. There, he entered and looked around a bit before talking to the male receptionist, which he was glad about, and was told just to wait on the bench and he would tell the person of his arrival. Nodding a bit, the boy went over to the nearby bench and sat down to wait.

〠☾ Once the receptionist left to fetch Katrina, she was approaching Artie within a few minutes. She was dressed professionally, her hair tied up to stay out of her face. Despite the image, she knew that her demeanor was not one of strictness, but friendliness. "Hello Arthur, will you follow me to my office?" she had purposefully worded the question so that he would not need to speak aloud, as she had already done a quick look into his background. She was aware of his fear, so she believed it would be best to first get into the protection of her office before discussing it. She did, after all, have several spells in place to keep out eavesdroppers and unfriendly intentions. Once there, she took a seat behind her desk, motioning for Artie to seat himself across from her. "So, do you have any clue as to why you're here?" she began, not wanting to read his mind just yet.

Artie Hopper Artie was sitting on the bench for a few minutes, silently playing a game on his smartphone as he waited. He blinked a bit and tensed up as he heard the feminine voice speak to him and stiffly turned his head towards her to look at her, of course she would be female. "A-Aha.. A-Alright.." He replied with a nervous laugh as he stood up and put his phone away and followed her into her office. Once there, he was offered a seat across from her, which he took as there was no other seat, and that's when the questioning began. "W-Why..? I-I assumed i-it h-had to do with t-taxes o-or something related t-to that since I-I o-only recently moved here..." He replied as he tilted his head a bit. While his fear had been noted, his actual power of summoning wolves had not been noted, while it wasn't exactly a secret, it also was not something he'd tell every single person, so his information only had him down as a human with no powers. So, the woman in front of him would have no idea about his powers with the current information she had.

〠☾ Sitting straight in her chair, Katrina nodded at Artie's lack of information. It was best that he hadn't thought of what he was truly there for, or else someone else could know as well. "You're wrong, but that's good." she told him, one hand moving to a drawer in her desk. Looking to him, she withdrew a tablet, placing it in front of Artie once she had brought up the footage needed. Once it began to play, it was clear that it showed Lily, scenes of her at the hospital, boulevard, and grocery store. Katrina was silent for several moments while this played, although she was well aware that he had already seen it; he had not only been there, but Artie had also hacked into their systems. "You know who this woman is." It wasn't a question, and she made no attempt to play dumb on the matter. Once the footage had ended, she shut off the screen, replacing it in her desk before continuing. "You moved here only recently, but I'm sure you know that we have no Veil here. What do you think about the Veil? Do you see its necessity? That woman could hurt hundreds of humans and there's nothing to protect them."

Artie Hopper Artie blinked a bit when she stated that he was wrong, but that it was good he that he was. This comment had made him a bit curious on what the real reason why he was here, though that thought was cut off when she brought out a tablet computer and placed it in front of him, playing the three surveillance videos of Artie's and Lily's interactions with each other before being asked if he knew who she was. "Y-Yeah.. H-Her name i-is Lily.. She h-has the p-power to bring s-souls to the c-corporeal plane.. E-Essentially Zombie s-summoning...I see you f-found t-the videos I-I leaked o-online.." He replied without much hesitation aside from the stutter in his voice. Once the videos were finished, she had put the tablet away and continued her questioning to him. "W-Well, I-I think the Veil i-is helpful and all f-for protecting p-people... b-but in t-the end i-it will only hinder t-the growth socially and technologically of t-this p-planet's c-creatures... A-As f-for Lily, I-I do believe that s-she n-needs to be s-stopped.." He replied to her, still finding this whole conversation kind of weird. What was the point of it, he wondered, well he would find out soon.

〠☾ The fact that it had been Artie who leaked the videos was unsurprising. The town may not have hackers as talented as him, but they could at least do some tracing. "Yes, and our people are doing their best to find and remove all traces of these videos. The last thing we need is panic." If the townspeople showed too much concern of the woman before they could deal with her, the Wizard Council would step in. If that happened, they would be forced to fight essentially two enemies at once, something Janhall could not handle then. Still, his answer to her question drew a small smile onto her expression. It was warm and kind, vastly different from the expressions of most people in Townhall. "That's the right answer." she told him. He had passed a test of sorts, so she continued on. "Very few people know what I'm going to say next. The only reason you'll know is because you need all the facts to make your decision." She paused, letting this information sink in before she spoke again.
"Our Veil is kept down with the power of three charms. These charms are each protected by a person with a great amount of strength. We recently lost...a man. His charm was recovered, but he's been missing for weeks." The man, named Tylar, had been close to her, but she continued speaking, doing her best to suppress the emotions behind the event. "So we need a new protector for that charm. And you're the best candidate so far." Katrina leaned back in her seat, contemplating her next words. "I passed you and that woman a few days ago, when you were entering the hospital. I could sense her darkness, but I can see an overwhelming amount of light in you. If you truly want to stop her, this would be the way. But-" She emphasized the last words, leaning forward once more to place her elbows on the desk. "-You'll need to let me read your mind."

Artie Hopper "Aha.." Artie laughed nervously as she stated that they were trying to remove the videos, "M-My bad about t-that.. I-I was s-still very s-sour about h-her a-actions in t-the supermarket that I leaked the videos e-everywhere i-instead o-of just here.." He replied, clearly embarrassed about it, though he didn't regret doing it. He tilted his head a bit when she said he had given the right answer and that few people know about the things she was going to tell him, and that he was going to need the facts to make a decision. Remaining silent, he started to listen to her explanation about three charms and how the Veil is kept down, and how they lost a guy who held onto one of the charms they managed to get back. Now they wanted him to be the new protector of the charm and that she saw some overwhelming amount of light in him and that if he really wanted to stop her that he would accept. But, then came the clincher, she wanted to read his mind, "M-My mind..? W-Well.. I don't m-mind.. but, everyone is playing a-a g-game a-at the moment.. s-so it's a bit n-noisy.." He replied, accepting her request although he replied with a weird statement as if there was more that one person's thought in his head.

〠☾ Raising a brow at his answer, she folded her hands as she asked calmly, "Game?" She had sense a power in him when they crossed paths before, it was why she had suggested his name at the last town meeting. However, she was unsure of what exactly that power was, a reason for her needing to read his mind. The fact that he had mentioned 'everyone,' was unusual as well, since that implied he had more than one voice inside of his head. Perhaps he wouldn't be cut out for the job after all.

Artie Hopper "Y-Yeah.. a-a game.." Artie replied as he tilted his head a bit, he clearly wasn't crazy in the head, nor lying, just being honest. "T-They're playing h-hangman." He added, stating that they were playing the word guessing game hangman. "That.. i-isn't going t-to b-be a problem.. is it?" He asked her curiously as he looked at her. In his head, all twenty of the wolves were guessing letters and such for the game of hangman, and it was Alpha's turn to choose the word. But, instead stating how many letters, they also had to guess how long the word was too, since they were doing this verbally in the boy's head without a chalkboard. It was that, and it made the game last longer and kept them entertained.

〠☾ If Katrina were unable to read emotions and intentions, she would have believed Artie was insane. Luckily for him, she felt that he was not sick in the head, or if he were, he had no idea which made her job easier and safer. Whoever was playing hangman, she would find out, so she stood from her seat, speaking softly as she moved around the desk. "No, it won't be a problem." She smiled, her usual warm smile as she sat of her desk, placing two fingers on each of his temples. It wouldn't be difficult to read his mind from her seat, but with the depth of her investigation, she wanted to ensure that she had as much strength as she could muster, especially if there truly was more than one voice in his head.
Once she was ready, Kat closed her eyes. It didn't matter is Artie did the same or if he continued to stare around the room, she was busy and so she wouldn't be interrupted. Entering the mind of other people was always a strange feeling; it reminded her of jello, a silly thing for an adult to think, but she had been a mind reader as a young child. Silently, her own mind sifted through his, pausing when she heard the wolves. She didn't realize what they were at first, but Artie's thoughts were wide open, allowing her to figure out everything relatively fast.

Artie Hopper Artie nodded a bit when she said it wouldn't be a problem, but he couldn't help but tense up a bit when she stood up from her seat and moved around the desk in front of him, before sitting on the edge of her desk. He bit his lower lip lightly when her two fingers pressed against his temples and closed his eyes, waiting silently for her to be done, though he did start playing hangman as well in his head. "Hmm.. Alpha, is there an N in the word..?" Beta asked Alpha curiously, "Yes there is. Only one though." Alpha agreed and the other wolves started to think hard on what the word was. They knew it had ten letters, two Es, two Ps, a single T and a single R. It was then Artie who made a letter guess, "Is there an C in it?" The boy asked Alpha, "Yes, one C is in the word as well." He replied, revealing another letter in the word. Suddenly, Theta made a guess, "Is the word Perception?" He asked, hoping he was right. "Yes! It is." Alpha stated, Theta winning the round this time as the other wolves sighed in disappointed. That was essentially how the game was being played in the boy's head.

〠☾ Still slightly overwhelmed by Artie's hidden power, she listened to the exchange of the game, allowing herself to be flooded by the voices of the wolves. A few second passed before she was certain they were all loyal to Arthur, prompting her to withdraw from the game of hangman. While the one called Theta had won, she hoped they would continue to play. It would allow her to search more efficiently if Artie and the wolves were set in one corner, so to speak. Using more concentration, she separated herself from the thoughts of everyone, only focusing on the mind she was in.
Slowly, she moved from current memories, flashing through talks with Noelle and listening to his interactions with Lily before finding the older and suppressed memories. How he learned to hack and how he had spent time with his wolves; the only time she paused was when she had found the root of his fear of women. That memory, she glanced over, getting the gist while not wanting to remind him of that time. The whole time, no matter the event she saw, she studied his reactions and how Artie had been thinking during these times. It was important that she not let any sense of hatred or anger through, but finally, she was done. Katrina withdrew from his mind, feeling that distinct jello sense again before opening her eyes. She blinked a few times, clearing her vision as she lowered her hands from the sides of his head. Moving back to her seat, she took a few breaths before stating, "You're a good person, but you still need to choose what you want to do."

Artie Hopper Artie and the wolves all continued their game of hangman, though it was clear that the wolves all had noticed her presence in the boy's mind, but chose to ignore her as the boy himself allowed her to look into his mind. The wolves, while loyal to Artie, weren't actual summoned beings, they were actually a part of the boy himself and it wouldn't be incorrect to say that all twenty wolves were offshoots of the boy himself, split personalities as one would say. It wasn't long before the woman finally withdrew her fingers from his temples and the boy stopped playing the game and looked at her timidly as she moved back to her seat and spoke. "I-I see.. W-Well..." He paused as if he was thinking or discussing something in his head before taking a deep breath and looking at her with a more serious look. "I don't mind taking care of this charm if this means I can help stop Lily and protect the innocent people in this town, but ultimately the choice is up to you if I can take care of it or not." He replied, his usual stutter gone now that he had resolved himself.
