Landing once more a whiles away from the last location Toki sighed and stretched his limbs out to get the kinks out. He knew that his static field would be sensible by others, but decided he’d use it before he got too settled. He sensed nothing in the air on above ground to his relief. But then he sighed and turned his attention to the ground. It would be difficult to sense anything except the openings or caves beneath the ground but he had to try.
After a while he was about to withdraw his power having sensed nothing moving in the caves he found when something small stumbled into his field. The same mix of blood and moon power of the earlier Arrical was translated back along his magic. But it was so small! Must be a cub… with no mother as its power is weak and fading, he thought. He got up and trotted over towards where he sensed it. The cave where it was stumbling around in was small… more of an empty burrow than a cave. Far too small for Toki to enter. Guess I’ll have to destroy it he thought. But how to do so without startling the little guy?

Toki paused as he felt a Gaili enter his field. But he relaxed when the familiar scent of Samael came to him. Well, maybe he can be of help here.
In response to Sameal’s question he chuckled and recalled his power back to himself as he shifted forms.

“Trying to get the starving Arrical cub out of this hole. I’m a bit too big... but maybe this form will help….” He reached his hands in slowly. He touched the cub, who whimpered and shuffled a way, farther than he could reach.
“Blast.” He turned his blind eyes towards Samael. "You’re Gaili, can you get it out without hurting it?”

The boy’s power had grown considerably since they last met, that much he could sense. He shivered as the smaller body got chilled by the mountain air. But he didn't shift, he’d need something more delicate than claws to care for a cub.

Toki smiled at Samael's comment, he was, he'd admit, quite proud that he had succeeded. "Thank you. I actually completed it just yesterday and was out here to practice how to use the odd two-legged body. As for Grrel..haven't seen her for a while. I doubt she died during her attempt so she must ave failed and is hunting for more orbs and power."
He sat back and awkwardly shifted about so his tail was in a more comfortable position. "I just left another location since there was a mother and cub Arrical there... but then I sensed this little guy so thought I may as well try to tame him. He's half starved so shy not? Maybe it'll make him easier to tame." He was guessing it was male, at least tat's what he was getting from his senses.
"Ah thanks." He said as he felt and heard the cub come towards him and Samael. "Useful beings Gaili's are." He said with a smile as he reached out and gently picked the cub up to transfer it to his lap.
"You wouldn't happen to have anything to feed it would you?" He ran his hand gently over the cub's fur. "So soft." he murmured with a gentle smile as the cub mewed and gnawed on his scaled hand, demanding food.

"Ah, thank you yet again." Toki said with a smile as he accepted it. The cub turned it's eyes towards it and gruffly growled and opened his mouth in demand. Toki held the meat strip near the cub's mouth, and let it gnaw on it greedily."Hmmm.. do you think it will need milk to survive? Or will water be enough? There are plenty of females with clutches in my clan so it shouldn't be too hard to find one who's willing to nurse the cub..." He was thinking of what to do with the cub. Would it make a good guard? Or just be a companion? But whatever happened, he would try to keep it alive. Toki had always liked small animals that weren't birds. They tended to be quieter than Orakoi if nothing else!
"I've never actually raised something this young before. Pesha and Kashi, my Fae's, were really raised for me.... What do you do?" He turned and looked up at Samael. "I normally don't teach the young till they're ready to leave the nest at least."

Toki chuckled, "Well, I've never had a clutch before. I was considering it back before I lost my eyes... but then things changed and time passed and it no longer was important I guess." He shrugged, as Shaman he'd always been around children.. maybe that was why he felt no urge to mate and clutch his own?

"And if this tyke doesn't need milk than it'll be easier to provide for him." Toki ran a hand over the Arrical's fur as it finished it's meal and gave a gruff bark, still hungry and wanting more. "Since it is so young, how shall we teach it anything? I think feeding it will naturally tame him, but .. training.. If I trained him as a guard than his presence would not be argued against in the clan." He nodded to himself, yes. A guard and companion to the young, an extra layer of defense against egg thieves. The adults would not say anything against the Arrical's presence if it would aid them somehow.

Sam tipped his head. Toki was so much older than him, and had never had eggs to call his own before? He didn't know much about shaman-ing, but he'd always kind of thought his life wouldn't truly be fulfilled until he had little Orakoi of his own. Until there were a bunch of younglings skittering around, demanding his attention, and calling out, "Da, Da, look what I can do!" As they leaped from precarious perches. To each his own, Sam supposed. He quirked the older Khehorian a grin. Maybe he was making up for it with arrical cubs.

"The best time to teach 'em is when they're young!" Sam said, reaching a hand out to poke the small creature's belly. It ruffed at him and scrunched deeper into Toki's grasp. "That way they don't have to unlearn any negative behaviors." Sam pulled his arm back and watched the cub roll about in the Kiandri's hold. "I guess it is a little young to be training it to guard anything. Maybe just start with teaching him his name."

Sam flushed a bright shade of pink. He didn't know much about arrical, and Toki probably knew loads more about young creatures than he did. So, naturally, he felt a stab of pride when the older Kiandri asked for his advice. If someone with as much experience as Toki though Sam could be of some use, then by Abronaxus, it must be true! Even if... he wasn't entirely sure what he could say that wouldn't sound ridiculous... He twisted a strand of platinum blond hair between his fingers as he thought. Toki was Shaman of his clan, so he had a lot of Khehora frequently coming to him for help. "Well, you probably have lots of youngsters coming to see you all the time during the day... Trying to manage both them and the cub simultaneously will probably be your biggest challenge. I mean... Bjorn is just a pup, so he'll need lots of playtime, and the Orakoir will be eager to oblige him. But it'll also be really easy for them to undermine any of your training. Not intentionally, I'm sure. You'll have to be certain that everyone who comes into contact with him knows and is willing to follow your training."
