Flying back to his Eowyn home, Toki thought on his ritual and the consequences. I’ve got to learn to move in that body.. and not in the Clan itself… that’ll be too embarrassing! He chuckled at himself; I guess I have a bit of pride in me to not want to be the fool in front of the clan!
Hmm, the desert sands are too unstable; maybe the rocks of the Terra Expanse would be better to practice in. Less chance of running into a person at least! Which that thought Toki banked his wings and gained altitude to catch a favorable wind to aid him in reaching the mountains quickly.
Once there, he deposited the sleeping Fae’s by a rock and shifted, his old bones creaking as they shifted and changed.
“Uhg, that’s not the kindest of feelings… I guess even the new body will be old and ache just like the old one,” He sighed as she reached out with a hand to the pine tree next to himself to steady himself as he got up inelegantly.
Taking a staggering step his tail wavered about to steady himself. Straightening up, he took another step. He paused as he smelled something on the air. Tilting his head, he concentrated and sent out his static field, figuring it would be faster than trying to use the weaker ears and nose of his new body.
The small shivers of static power flickered out in an ever widening circle until they felt something. The shape and taste of the creatures’ power was translated back along his lightning field. Toki sighed. An Arrical, the strange mix of blood and moon magic could only mean them; and she had a cub too. Guess I’ll have to practice walking later. Toki was not in the mood to deal with the regenerating powers of an Arrical and definitely did not want to tangle with a mother protecting her cub. So he shrugged changed back and gathered up his fae’s to leave for a safer location.
