What a beautiful find.
A treasure hunter by trade and a shiny-lover by nature, it wasn't hard to get Nila excited about a potential catch. And here, right at her paws, was quite the catch indeed. The bag itself was tattered and weathered, almost in shambles from the elements. At one point it seemed like it had been squished under the large zebra-like skeleton, but now that the creature was nothing but bone, the bag had become exposed. Nila had learned early on that this strange skeletons often had small trinkets buried nearby. Sometimes it was only one or two golden circles, sometimes it was a necklace that could be traded for a meal or a favour. But rarely did Nila find something as good as this. Sweet gods above, she didn't even know what she was going to do with it all!
Nila pawed through the bags contents, purring happily. Diamonds and other precious jewels laid nestled inside, sparkling at they caught the sun's light. She'd have to take these to someone who could string them into something wearable. The cheetah had struck a few deals with nimble-fingered baboons every now and then. It was always a possibility.
Nila cackled with delight. This had been a rather bad week for her. A bad month really. But this more than made for her terrible luck. The cheetah grabbed the bottom edge of the bag with her teeth and pulled, sending the rest of the contents tumbling out onto the dirt. Oh yes. What a beautiful find.

Today was not a good day for one lioness.

She didn't have any luck hunting and now she wasn't having any luck with exploring either. She wanted to find a new place so badly, but it just wasn't happening today at all. She had been traveling for almost two or three hours now and the most she found was a small nitch in the plains that looked as if a family of animals once lived there. She usually didn't have days this bad. At most she would find something interesting or at least something that was worth remembering, but nope. Nothing. Nada. She flicked her tail as she walked slowly across the field eyeing everything that moved in case she saw something of interest, which with her luck today wasn't going to happen at all. Until she noticed a cheetah, a purple one to be more exact, tugging on something before everything went flying everywhere. She slowly approached and flicked her tail trying to be as friendly as she possibly could. "Hello." She said softly to the other before eyeing everything that was on the ground. Jewels scattered the ground around them and for a moment she didn't know what to make of it.

"Did you find this? These objects are quite remarkable." She told the other female not wanting to intrude on her current find, but it was definitely something she had never seen before. "Oh I'm sorry...I didn't mean to intrude." She said shyly hoping the other didn't get upset at her. It was the last thing she wanted to do.

Nila jumped with a jowl, spinning around to stare wide-eyed at the approaching orange lioness. Crap. Normally she was more vigilant than this. She was not in the mood to fight someone else off, which is exactly what Nila was prepared to do. After all, the cheetah wasn't the only treasure hunter in the savannah. Her muscles tensed, ready to scoop up whatever she could before bolting.
But the lioness looked more...confused than greedy. Not a rival treasure hunter then? Nila relaxed, grim look breaking into a smile. She didn't even know what the jewels were! "Oh, that's alright!" The cheetah laughed. "Just thought ya were some sorta...unsightly character. You gotta watch out for those." Why, this lioness didn't even look like she'd hurt a fly!
Nila plopped her butt down, tail curling around her paws comfortably. "Ya saying ya never seen a jewel before?" Nila asked, cocking her head. Claws, ever out of their sheaths, raked over the diamonds, rolling them and making them catch the light better. Nila was momentarily quiet as she watch the sun's reflection glitter and twinkle amongst the pile of diamonds.
She snapped out of it with a shake of her head. "They ain't all that rare. Good for making trinkets with."

Unsightly character? It was the first time Suri got accused of being one of those. She flicked her tail as she examined the other female curiously finding the jewels she possessed to be very interesting. "Yes you do and it's good that you are watchful of them." She said and hadn't met someone like that in a long time. She avoided them like the plague because she didn't like confrontations and would rather keep her life peaceful. "No I haven't seen anything like those before.." She said lightly before motioning to the gems that littered the floor around them. Even in her explorations she never found anything like them. It was quite a find on behalf of the cheetah. "Trinkets? I'm assuming you do that on a daily basis then?" She didn't know how she would make trinkets, but she was sure it was possible with some determination. "My name is Utsuri by the way, but you can call me Suri or Utu. It doesn't matter to me." She shrugged her shoulder keeping her eyes on the purple female finding her markings to be very interesting. This was going to be a good day, she was sure of it. "Do you need help carrying them? Do you have a small pouch?" She knew they would be hard to carry unless she put them in her mouth, but then they wouldn't be able to talk.

"Are you hungry? Perhaps we can see if we could find a little snack." She wasn't hungry to the point where she needed a full meal. Even a small mammal of some sort would do. Though she didn't know if this female would even want to join her on her excursion.

Nila flicked her tail as she considered the lioness' offer. This Suri was claiming to never have seen a jewel before and was offering to carry some of them. Any other treasure hunter would have seen that as a red flag and booked it out of there with whatever they could carry, but Nila was not the average treasure hunter. "Well, Miss Suri, if we're gonna be goin a-huntin, it wouldn't do for me to be laden down with all this plunder! Sharin the load sounds right nice!" Nila shrugged off a smaller bag from the array of pouches slung across her shoulder and stepped out of the straps. Suri seemed just small enough to be able to fit into it. And even if she didn't, the pouch could fit comfortably around the lioness neck, though a little loosely. "I don't make the trinkets myself. Takes a lotta...finesse, patience, sittin down for long periods a time. Not exactly appealing to someone like me, if you know what I mean." Nila said with a wink, pawing a small portion of the jewels into the bag. She threw one of the larger diamonds into the pouch for good measure and flipped the lid back over. "If I had my way, I'd be on the move even in my sleep. Treasure never finds itself, ya know."
The cheetah pushed the pouch towards the lioness, gesturing for Suri to pick it up. "Of course, treasure huntin does stir up an appetite. A bite to eat sounds great." Nila got to her paws and stretched, toes cracking. She was still a little hyped from think that Suri was going to attack her. It would be good to run that off. "Call me Nila, Treasure Hunter Extraordinaire and Professional Adventurer." The feline grinned. "Or just Nila. You got any whiff of some munchies? I haven't been payin too much attention to scents, what with this find and all." The rest of the jewels went into one of the cheetah's other bags, and Nila looked at suri expectantly, ready to go.
