- To save, to fight, and to survive. A facade put forth to spell the words, "to protect", but a whisper in the wind revealed nothing more than a cold, hard wish for revenge against those beings whom Ashley hate.

- Ashley's personality is, perhaps, slightly all over the place. Being a hormonal teen, it isn't uncommon for him to have mood swings: the boy may be happy one second and overfilling with anger the other. While his temper may not be the best, he tries to redirect the rage towards those who deserve it. Although confident, Ash isn't exactly supportive of those who are doubtful of their abilities, especially if the person in question is actually weak and slow enough to be Titan food. As a result, he may be considered cold, though the Weaver child like to think of it as a "harsh truth." Ashley would never back down from a competition, and always gives his all to win. Thus, the teen like to think of anything and everything as a competition, because that's how he drives himself to his full potential. However, this state of mind has its downsides, because then he would forget to slow down and enjoy the present. After all, if a person thought everything as a competition, the stress would accumulate until it breaks him or her. Ashley has his ways of relieving anxiety, thankfully: by teasing others.

- The birth of the second son of the Weaver family happened on a cool and rainy night during spring. It was a particularly quiet evening: all that could be heard were the pitter patter of the falling rain and Ashley Weaver's cries as his dainty little hands groped for his mother. How the parents knew their son was a troublemaker was when his elder brother leaned in to poke his pudgy cheeks, Ashley responded by kicking him in the face. Laughter, too, was added into the collection of a repetitive, but soothing sounds of the doting night.
As the hyperactive infant grew, his parents became increasingly annoyed at how the boy seemed to never be able to sit still for more than a couple minutes. Plus, Ashley seemed to get quickly bored of new toys, always looking to go outside and chase wild animals. His agility as a toddler baffled his parents, though that may be the result of spending every minute of his earlier life finding new and innovative ways of climbing out of his baby crib, for each time he tried he succeeded with increasing efficiency. "The little demon-" his father would say. "-will grow up strong."
The definition of "strength" is subjective.
To one person, it may mean how much matter he or she could carry at once over a certain distance. A person who can carry a hundred kilograms would be considered stronger than a person who can only carry twenty kilograms. Similarly, the meaning of strength could be thought of how enduring one's mind is. For instance, a person who is able to withstand ten gory pictures of titans gorging on humans before turning away would be considered stronger than another who was only able to withstand three pictures of such instances. But then, when the mind and body are put together to be compared, how can anyone decide whether one person is stronger than another? Well, that was the question Ashley wanted to find out. For the boy who had a thin build, but extraordinary agility, speed became his strength, as well as his above average intelligence. At first, he started racing against his brother to see who could run the farthest, the swiftest. Then, it came to who could learn how to ride a horse the fastest. Finally, a competition to see who could circle the Stohess district in the least amount of time. The two brothers loved to be pitted against each other in every way possible, even at one point competing against one another for their baby sister's affection.
The seemingly peaceful days came to a halt when his brother, upon reaching the age of seventeen, decided it was time to be a productive lad. Despite the protests of their parents and Ashley himself, his brother enlisted to become one of the many suicidal armymen.
The definition of "productive" suddenly became akin to that of "death wish."
For quite some time, the family prayed for their loved one to remain safe, that against all odds statistics spewed, he would come back alive. Alas, the tragic news reached their ears, that their son died bravely trying to save another's life by sacrificing himself so others could flee to safety. It brought the family an immense amount of honor, letting Ashley see a sight he never thought was possible: a crying mother who had just lost her son smiling.
The definition of "crying" became meaningless.
The thirteen year old, with his hands and teeth clenched, declared that he would enlist in the military and become a soldier. He gave his parents the usual reason, that he would best his brother and bring even more honor to the Weaver name. To the two adults, it was a shallow thought, so the three fought a lot over the boy's decision. It was good, Ashley thought, because when he would die, his parents would not cry. Perhaps they would even say, "Good riddance."
Why did, then, Ashley decide to become a soldier, and ultimately a member of the Scouting Legion? The teenager wanted to believe that he wanted to protect others' lives, to prevent such a tragedy from happening, to prevent other families from suffering the same fate as his did. To protect others would be the most compassionate and beautiful reason in the world. But deep down, Ashley knew that it was just a beautiful lie, and the painful truth was that he simply wanted revenge against the supernatural beings that killed his beloved brother.
The definition of "loneliness" weighed more than a thousand boulders.
