The moment that the ship reached the port in Eowyn the two of them were heading down the gang plank, across the docks, and toward the edge of town. Merikh was more then a little eager to get to the battle that he had been aching for all this time. It felt like an eternity since he'd been in a battle with anyone but his mother and that was nothing but training. This was going to be so much better! To throw himself against the dragons! To fight against them and win! To see them all fall before his mighty blade! Giving a bit of a chuckle he said in a rather happy tone of voice, "We are going to fill our packs with dragon orbs on this trip!" He meant it too. He wanted to overload his packs with them, to make up for lost time as quickly as possible.
Getting slightly more thoughtful he mused out loud, "You think Kiandri orbs might be impressive enough to bring to Lord Draco? Last time I brought him a Diabi orb though." Nothing would top that save for more Diabi Orbs or something even better, perhaps Aeduan orbs since those dragons were so dangerous to the Oblvionites? Bringing back the soul orbs of those light accursed beasts might be even better then besting a Diabi. It was probably a good, long term plan he decided before told Yolana, "I think that the best thing to bring back orb wise to him would be Diabi and Aeduan orbs but these ones, the Kiandri orbs, those will be something for me." He would decorate his room with dragons souls, as many of them as he could fit, to prove that he was in fact a worthy successor to his family despite the little hiccup with the Ayrala.
Yolana merely nodded in agreement, ever the quiet girl he'd discovered. She only nodded, shook her head, shrugged, or grunted when it came to answering him. He wasn't sure if it was because she couldn't talk or that she just didn't talk but he didn't mind, it gave him more time to talk he thought to himself with a bit of a grin. Pausing for a moment as they reached the edge of town he felt his heart skip a beat in excitement, "Alright, seems we have reached the desert. Let's get ready!" He said, taking in a deep breath before starting forward once more. He was eager to get out there, to find the dragons that were said to live in Eowyn, and fight them!
Much to his delight it wasn't really all that long before they came across their first group of Kiandri dragons and a trio of them at that. Shrugging out of his pack he tossed it to Yolana, "Hold this for me." He said, drawing his sword from his back, and started forward toward the dragons. She could wait here for him, he'd call her if he needed her, but for the moment he really didn't. He wouldn't need her unless he somehow injured himself and even then he really didn't feel as though t would be necessary unless they were deep wounds.
The first little tussle with the Kiandri was a quick exchange of blows. It didn't need to be a deeply involved fight, if anything it was just a sort of introduction. Sure, he'd gotten a bit of information back home about them in some of his grandfather's tomes, but it wasn't the same as fighting them. To go head to head with them, to see what they were capable of doing himself, that was how he wanted to go about this. The first run in with them resulted in Merikh being able to land a good, deep cut against the back of the leg of one of them, the largest in the group, before the trio had taken to the skies.
Much to his delight though they were fleeing like a bunch of cowards, if anything they were preparing for battle while they circled around overhead. Good, that meant that his plan to attack the biggest one, the one he would guess was their leader, had worked out. Challenge the strongest amongst the group and they would be less likely to flee, not when the pride of the group's leader was on the line. No, now they were sure to stick around, he could tell because he'd do the same thing if someone challenged him.
The way the air seemed to crackle with electrical energy gave Merikh a good indication about the powers that the Kiandri dragons had, the sort that would shock the life out of him if he weren't careful. He meant to be damn careful though, not about to get sent back home so soon, not when he had finally just gotten to leave that place! No, he'd be careful, watch each of his steps, make sure that he took care to treat each and every battle from here on out seriously. These three dragons, nor any of those he fought after this trip, weren't going to ruin this for him! He'd make damn sure that the next time he went home was on his own terms and not due to injuries that he received whilst fighting! Next time he went home would be because he had succeeded in stuffing his packs to bursting with dragons orbs, he'd go home a hero damn it!

The Kiandri dragons were a lot more interesting then those that he had fought in the past, save of course for the Diabi dragon but that was special on so many levels. That monster had given up an orb that he really felt had given him an edge as far as trying to impress the higher ups went after all. Still, they were something special and he wasn't just thinking that because they were the first things that he'd gotten to fight since his failure of a battle against the dragons of Ayr. No, they way that they seemed to be up there, plotting against him, made things that much more interesting for him. It also made him that much more eager to get his hands on their orbs, because they would be quite the addition to his little collection, one he meant to see grow. Gritting his teeth slightly, hands tightening on his weapon, he murmured, "Come on you bunch of scaly nobodies, get down here and face me." He was growing tired of the wait, he wanted the fight to start now!
As though sensing this the dragons acted, all casting at once, and there was rain of lightning magic that suddenly fell down upon the sandy ground around him. It was something that he felt was meant to send him scurrying away but instead he merely stood his ground and waited, trying not to show any sort of fear even if that attack had been a startling one. The energy from it had caused his hair even stand on end! Quite the feat even that normally it fell down in his face in a rather messy manner. He had better things to do with his time then try to tame his hair but he felt that after this battle was over he'd have no choice but to do so, he could only imagine how awful it looked at the moment. Damn dragons sure liked to try to cramp his style he thought to himself.
Another rain of lightning, this time closer to him, but with the same results of him not moving, instead just tightening his hands on his weapon. How he hated magic some days, mostly because it was something he didn't have, meaning he had to find ways around it. Brute force worked, but finesse was a lot better. Overhead the dragons continued to circle before one of them, the smallest in the group, gave a roar and dove down toward him. Ah, was that one planning on trying to fight to impress his leader? How he hoped that he would one day have soldiers so eager to impress him... though he would likely end up punishing them for it. He didn't want to see his men injured over such foolishness after all. No, he wanted to keep them alive and safe after all and the dragons that remained overhead didn't seem to be nearly as loyal and attentive to their fellows.
Sliding to the side and out of the way of the attack he then whirled around, his blade arching out, and in one swift though brutal move he lopped off the smaller Kiandri's wing. Giving a bit of a smirk as a bit of blood splattered against him he said, "Doesn't look like you will be going back there, hm?" No more would the dragon taste the freedom of flight, this one was grounded permanently though he doubted it would be around long enough to mourn the loss of it's wing, not when Merikh was planning on ending it completely and taking its orb as his own.
Moving to one side, slowly starting the circle the dragon, he said, "You really should have come down together, you might very well have had a chance against me." Not that he would have given up or anything but it was better then coming at him one at a time. He supposed that was the difference between himself and dragons, he was far smarter then they were. Not to mention far more handsome he thought to himself arrogantly before he pointed his weapon at the dragon that stood before him, "You can always call them down here." That would make it a lot easier on him if they were to just come down, land, and let him fight with them on his terms. If this injured dragon wanted to do him such a favor as to call the others to them... well, he wouldn't complain.
If that didn't work then he'd just chop this one up, collect its orb, and wait for the two overhead to finally join him down here on the ground. He was really fine with either one of those plans, not as if he had any where to be anytime soon. In fact he meant to be out here hunting for a while so he had the time to be patient. He could only hope that Yolana was just as patient... though given what he knew of her thus far he didn't see her as the hasty sort. She was probably still standing with their packs, waiting with them as he'd told her to do. So long as the dragons left her alone then he was happy, he didn't want them to attack his servants after all.
No, he wanted them to fight with him so that he could be the one to claim their orbs. If Yolana killed them then he'd find himself going without, not a prospect he cared to think about. No, the orbs of these three dragons were meant to be his, he needed only to take them was all!

As though it understood what Merikh was telling it, or maybe just because it was realizing now that it was grounded, the Kiandri dragon lifted it's head and gave a great roar toward the sky. It was a sound echoed by the two dragons overhead and Merikh felt excitement welling up in him. This must mean that they meant to come down and fight as well, right? If that were the case though he should probably see about dealing with this dragon now, huh? It was no longer needed for anything more then its orb he thought to himself, lips turning up into a smirk as he turned his attention back to his current adversary, "It's time for us to end this, dragon, I will thank you in advance for your orb. It will make a shining addition to my collection I'm sure." He said before he lunged forward, sword coming across in a wide arch, slicing into both of its front legs in a manner that caused it to fall face forward into the hot sand. It wasn't dead yet but now it was most certainly not going any where either on the ground or in the sky.
"I won't prolong this." He said, as he flicked his sword to the side, ridding it of the blood that clung to it, before he lifted it up over his head despite its size and weight. The Kiandri was the last thing that he wanted to make suffer so best that he end this particular battle now. He'd save any mercilessness that he had in him for other enemies, the Orderites or the Dovaa for instance. The dragons on the other hand, they were different, they were worthy enemies he thought to himself as his sword came down and decapitated the dragon in one fell swoop. He flicked his sword to one side once more, again knocking the blood free of it, before he walked forward. The dragon was crumbling apart already and by the time he reached its main body it was already gone, leaving behind only a glittering orb. Grinning he reached down to brush the tips of his fingers against it, "Beautiful." He murmured, picking it up, and turned around... only to find Yolana standing right there in front of him.
Giving a bit of a start the Oblivionite warrior muttered, "Eesh... give a guy a warning next time!" After that he tossed the orb her way, "Here, watch this for me, I need to see about dealing with the other two." He ordered her, glad that she had come over to him, probably sensing that he would want her to take the orb off of his hands. While it was a pretty thing it would also be in the way when it came to fighting. It would be rather difficult to fight using a two handed sword when one hand was occupied after all. He'd of hated to have to drop the orb but that was no longer something he'd need to do since Yolana had arrived in the nick of time.
Turning his attention to the sky above he could see it, the way that the pair of dragons were now spiraling down toward him. It would appear as though the next part of the battle was about to start and Merikh was nothing but pleased. He would hate to think that for even a moment the pair would have considered running away from him, especially after their companion was killed, but it would seem as though that wasn't the case after all. While sure, it was cowardly to let their small friend face him first, at least they weren't as weak as all of that. Instead it would appear as though they were ready to stand against him, finally.
"Back up, Yolana, this is still my battle." He had yet to get hurt after all so there was no reason for her to be underfoot as far as he was concerned. He turned away from her, certain that she would listen to his orders, just as the other two dragons crashed down in front of him, giving in sync roars as if trying to intimidate him. If anything it just excited him all that much more. So, they were here, huh? Well then it would appear as though round two was about to begin! Lifting his weapon up he pointed it at them, "Let's see... which of the two of you wants to be the first to die by my blade? Hmmm, the big, bad leader of the three of you? Or do I want to take out your last remaining helper first so that it can just be the two of us?" He asked of them, grinning that much more as he did so. He was good either way but felt that it would be the most fun the latter way.
Due to feeling that it was best that he take out the big Kiandri's last helper he turned toward that dragon, grinning, "I think that it's going to have to be you. I want a good, one on one with your leader after all which means getting rid of the spares." It would be more likely to rile up the bigger Kiandri as well, giving him a better battle, making it more worth while for him since it would take more skill to deal with an angry dragon. With that in mind he prepared to charge, eager to get this next battle underway.

Merikh moved in a swift manner toward the first of the two dragons, this one slightly smaller then the one he saw as their leader. It was the one that he wanted to take care of first, both because it had yet to be injured and because it was sort of in the way. If he wanted a good show down against the biggest of the Kiandri then he was going to have to get this one out of his way first, huh? He didn't think that it was going to be all that much of a hassle though, not in comparison to some things that he had fought against in his life time. The Kiandri were kind of push overs compared to that Diabi after all. He'd been able to do all of nothing against the big, shadowy, nightmare dragon after all but these ones... well, they felt as though they were actually real. Not monsters from a child's bad dreams but something that he could easily cut apart with his sword.
With that thought in mind he took a swing at the dragon that he had targetted, his sword biting deep into it's throat. It wasn't enough to kill it, though that would have been an impressive first swing, but it was enough to cause it to stagger backwards whilst gurgling. Not an instant, one hit kill but still impressive he thought to himself as he pursued the beast, taking a couple more swings at it though they were but glancing blows much to his disapproval. No matter, he'd end it soon enough. Given all the blood on the sand he was almost certain that if he just left it be that it would probably just bleed out... but again, he wasn't really into the suffering of such weak creatures. No, he would finish it off as quickly as possible he thought to himself as he continued to pursue.
He lifted his weapon up to try to do just that when he was suddenly hit from the side by the tail of the second dragon and was sent flying. Merikh hit the sand, tumbled a bit, then quickly pushed himself up to his feet. One hand went for a moment to his side, poking at it, certain that there was going to be a nasty bruise there soon enough. It was something he couldn't worry about now though, not when a bruise wasn't something that he should be worrying about. If anything he was worrying about that injured dragon.
Where... where was it now? He looked from side to side, spotting it now behind the bigger dragon, laying in the still in the sand. Not dead yet but most likely close. As such he would need to focus on the bigger dragon, it seemed as though it wasn't going to let him near the other one until their battle was over after all. He supposed that this was just how it would have to be was all. The other one was as good as dead, would be crumbling apart any time now, and there was nothing he could do to speed up the process with the big dragon getting in his way. That just meant that he would need to forget about the other one for now, focus on the big one, and when his battle with it was over the he could deal with the wounded dragon.
"You know you would have made it a lot easier on your buddy over there if you just let me finish it off." He told the big dragon that was snarling at him at the moment through barred teeth, "Ah well, guess it's just the two of us for moment. Let's continue, shall we?"

It was probably the fact that Merikh had done as he set out to do, taking out the other two dragons before the bigger one, that had the beast so riled up. It's mood was awful and it's attacks were quite vicious... it was only Merikh's training that was keeping him ahead of the creature enough to keep himself from becoming dragon chow. A dodge here, a near miss there, those sorts of things help to balance out the times that he was actually hit by the big dragon. Thus far no wounds that he felt were bad enough that he would need to call in help in the form of Yolana but it was still enough to slow him down a bit which he didn't care for. He much preferred being able to fight at full capacity... though all it meant was rest after this dragon was taken care of, nothing more. He wasn't about to go home over a few bumps and bruises after all and not even Yolana would be able to force him to do so.
Hopping back a couple steps Merikh took another swing, his sword able to skid along the side of the dragon's body, leaving a wound behind but nothing nearly deep enough that it would stop it. If anything it just seemed to make it that much angrier, causing it to lash out at Merikh once more. Another blow by its tail, another moment of mock flight, and another moment of slamming into the sand were what came next for Merikh. This time he stayed down for a moment, allowing himself a moment of rest before he rolled over and back onto his feet. He looked from side to side, spotted his sword, and rushed over to where it had landed when he'd been sent flying that last time.
He was quick to grab up his weapon before preparing once more for battle, "You are... doing pretty good, much better then your weak buddies... but your orb is meant to be mine!" He declared to the dragon, lifting his sword up, and then charged forward once more.

Merikh's aim was pretty spot on when it came to hitting what he was swinging at, something that came from going through the motions so many times that he felt he could sword fight in his sleep. It was all because of his mother, because of her training, because she wanted for him to be ready for anything, that he was this way. She felt that she hadn't trained him hard enough and that was why the Ayrala had injured him as it had. Due to that his training had been intensified, making him a lot quicker despite the fact that he carried a large weapon. Enough stamina and he could bare such weight in battle after all. A damn good thing too given that this one had been a long, drawn out, and dangerous battle... but such a good one at the same time. The sort he wished his mother was around to see just so that she'd know all the training was helping.
Dancing out of the way he looked for a good opening, knowing full well that the moment he saw one that he would be able to put this dragon down once and for all. Once that was done it would be time to collect his orbs, collect his assassin, and the two of them could be on their way. It took a bit of time but finally he saw it, a misstep by the dragon that left him open, and he lunged forward thrusting his sword into the creature's chest. The blade pierced deep, slicing the Kiandri's heart in two, and it was crumbling away before it even realized what had happened.
From there he turned quickly to where the other dragon had fallen, ready to finish it off if the need arose... but he saw there was no reason to do so. It was already gone, leaving behind its orb as well for him to collect, "Ahhh, all done." He murmured to himself. He cleaned off his sword, replaced it on his back, and started forward to gather up his orbs. Once he had them both in his hands he turned to call for Yolana... only to realize she was right there next to him once more. Giving her a bit of a smile he said, "Seems that we are done here. I say we find an oasis, take a break, and do more hunting after it cools off a bit." He said as he took back his pack, stuffing his orbs into them. Once he had it once more slung over his shoulder the two of them were on their way to finding a nice, cool spot to relax. After that battle he felt that he more then deserved it.
