So, a lot of colourists have expressed interest in a final fantasy event. And, before we start planning, we'd like to know a few things. Like what your top seven characters are, your two favourite FF games, if you're questing any final fantasy characters, and what you'd like to see (Chocobo's, Moogles? Scenery inspired pets? Anything else you can think of?). Please do note that just because you suggest something, that does not mean that we'll use it.
Currently Quested Characters: Terra(FFVI)-Mia (currently being made)
//edit by Mia: Also ones that are currently owned as far as I'm aware Nanaki/Red XIII (FFVII) Rikku (FFX-2) Gippal (FFX-2) Layle (Crystal Chronicles: the Crystal Bearers)

Final Fantasy VI and IX are my personal favs. :V
And because I'm biased regarding characters themselves I'm gonna say it'd be cool to make a variety of the summon creatures.

Scenery pets for people who know nothing about Final Fantasy? -raises paws-
Aww, yis. Very nice ideas. uwu; Thanks guys. uwu; Anima creatures would be ******** great ;u; (/absolutely adore's Lightning's Odin) As well as scenery pets/inspired by scenery in FF for people who don't really know about the game ouo;
I really want to try to include everyone >w>

X and X-2 are my favorites :U To be honest, I would love to see pets based off the weapons for characters. Like their Ultimate weapons, signature weapons, etc. For example, a pet based off Cloud's Buster Sword, or Vincent's Chaos modes(?). Stuff like that.
Also, I'm planning on questing for Auron, :U

I'm currently questing for Freya from FF IX <3 And I know Kyaishi has Nanaki (Red XIII) from FF VII -----------------
Typically for FF events you get the chocobos, since there's a bunch of colors. But I really like the ideas people have mentioned for having pets based off weapons and locations. O: And of course the summons <333 That's freakin' fantastic and gives so many more options!
And you could even do pets based off towns and cities in the games, that would be so loved, especially for FF VIII, 8 was my favorite, personally, and pets based off the Gardens and the major cities would be amazing <333
-------------------------------------
My suggestion for the event layout
Overall, I think the big event should be broken down weekly. Each week could focus on one game, so start with FF1 and move on up. This gives you guys extra time to put polish on the characters from the later games, which typically were heavier in detail and world settings.
I also thing having two massive raffles that span the length of the whole event would be a good idea for several reasons.
- Have one large, paid raffle that's filled with NPCs, Summons and minor bosses from the games. ----- That way you can pick the version of Biggs and Wedge or Shiva that you like instead of having to do several versions of them. Same goes for the mini bosses. It's also something you can toss more pets into as time goes on, since there's just so many pets you could make on that theme alone. But it would draw sales because holy ******** yes.
- Have one large, free raffle that's filled with pets based off items, places, or mobs. ----- Have the free raffle rolled last of everything, that way it catches anyone that hasn't met their caps on their wins, and the people that wanted to participate, but maybe didn't go after specific characters because they don't know much about the games. It's also a theme that you can easily color up pets on, there's just so many possibilities there.
- For everything else, I'd break it down by a weekly thing, each week focusing on one game. However, the layout of each week will probably be the same, to make it easy for everyone to know when something's happening, and so that staff just has to switch out banners and dates and you're set. Maybe some of the games will have to have their own threads, but having a copy-paste weekly layout makes things a lot easier all around I think.
Here's what I think each game's week should look like, in general:
- Have a 24 hour pre-auction before the week starts, winner gets to pick any one pet from that game week.
- You could also have it be an auctioned off custom slot, if colorists are willing. If someone wants a custom of say, a mob, that hasn't been made for that game, if a colorist is willing they could take it on as a custom. It lets people have a shot at that one character they really wanted, even if they can't be around for the event. - They might request something that's been put into the two, big raffles that span the length of the event too. I'm also not sure how people feel about having two versions of something, if, say, the auction winner wants Ifrit, or something that's a repeat theme in the FF universes. (then again, could make hawt babies. Oh, I'm so punny *shot*)
- Put the main characters of that game for the week in a paid raffle that lasts just that week.
Raffles are a bit more fair than auctions, and having 20 auctions going at once would be messy, I think x.x
- Have a game layout for the week. E.G., for 7, do the Gold Saucer. One day could be chocobo races, another day could be Wonder Square (the arcade), etc.
I have so many ideas here, it's not even funny. The awesome thing about FF is that nearly every game had mini games that could make this a whole helluva lotta fun. Even for FF1, where it could just be called Dungeon Crawl. You could have a CYOA, and another day have an rp contest where people in teams of three have to pick a class to be and play out getting through a dungeon (or failing hilariously at it). You could have a boss battle at the end of the week! For FF8 there was Triple Triad, and I'm already going through a bunch of ideas on how that could work. FF10 had both the temple mazes, which could be awesome because you could give away Summons as prizes and pets based off that particular puzzle and temple; and there was also blitz ball, which I have ideas for how that would work in a tournament style. So.Many.Ideas. And I'd love to help in any way.
- Random Encounters! Staff could hold random games in thread, or quote people they see being active and have them roll a d6 that'll pick which kind of game there will be!
You could have typical dice-roll games, match number or knock out. You could have it where the enemy rolls a d20, and everyone that rolls a d20 within the given time will get a ticket if they roll above what the enemy rolled, and raffle off the prize at the end of the time slot. You could throw kupo nuts at the enemy, fetch images or music to try and lull the enemy to sleep. Or write haikus or bad poetry to cast confuse and have the enemy knock itself out. So many ideas~
- Boss Battle! (dun dun duuuun) At the end of the week you could have a boss battle in a knock out style, could give away prizes for critical hits, or those that did a certain amount of damage, lucky 7's, or just whoever has the most hp at the end or whatever xD Depends on how many prizes there are to give and how many play <3
EDIT: Ohoh, wanted to add. Yea, I know giving each game a whole week means this event will take a looooooooooong long time, but that's a good thing! It's a huge event that'll draw a crowd, the events are spaced out so colorists have time to work, and it gives people a chance to replenish their pocketbooks so they're ready for the next thing they wanna try in. --------
I could go on, but I think that's the general idea of everything. O:
Another amazing game that deserves more attention that would make a great event some day is Legend of Dragoon. God, I love that game. So beautiful.

I am questing Shiva from FFX. FFX and and X-2 are my favorites
I have only played the original FF and one of the lower ones, when the characters were still chibi. Anyway I don't know the name of the thing but I have some pixel art in my sig of it. Is white furry and I think it has antenna anyone know what I'm talking about?
I would try my hardest to get one of those if you make that one as a noodle.

Creatures are definitely something that will have to happen. Chocobos, moogles, other recurring things such as Tonberry, Behemoth, perhaps Cactuar (lol)
Wolfey, I believe you're referring to moogles. :V
Yes, there's COUNTLESS things we can pull inspiration from here, really - heck, I'd even love to do some pets inspired by the various airships in the games!
One focal point of the event should be a god/dess auction with Chaos and Cosmos, the main deities of the series.
I currently don't have any input into the event as I don't have time before hopping off to work, just like to say that i've been questing Zell Dincht from FF8 /also don't have time to post the link to my quest thread, BUT HE IS IN THERE 8D
I've also been questing a pet based on the Triple Triad from FF8, which is also in my quest thread <3 (if that matters)

Hey there~
I was just lurking, saw this, and, Cheza already mentioned it, but I just wanted to verify that I own Vincent Valentine [Final Fantasty VII]. I dunno if that crosses over to his demon/Chaos modes [Galian Beast, Death Gigas, Hellmasker, and Chaos]? Just don't know how that would be RPed, haha.
