General Information
The portal opens up into an observation room, and down the stairs, an odd chamber for something like hunter training. At the center of a piranha-filled pool stands a solid stone table and several chairs. The Life Arena was built underneath the demolitions and ballistics testing areas, and the chamber rumbles with the occasional explosions above. Pinpoint red lasers sweep across the room regularly, as if hidden snipers are searching for a nice target. In the center of the table sits a wooden tower, made up of smaller wooden blocks. Yes. That's right. The Life Hunters prefer to train via Jenga.

Note: Distraction techniques and Yo Momma jokes are considered viable weapons when playing competitively.

If you fail: you have knocked down the tower! A small dart hits the back of your neck. You come to several hours later, and hope Dr. H didn't do anything to your body while you were unconscious. When you look into the mirror...

If you win: you have reached 50 points! You get a sharpie marker to do with as you please. peen points go to those with the highest scores.

    Mechanics
    - by carefully removing pieces of the tower, you earn points and advance to the next round. As the rounds continue, the odds grow steadily against you. Rolling a 1 at any point means you have knocked down the tower. Please do enjoy your mystery dart. Anything after reaching 50 points is purely for peen.

    - you may roll pieces individually (suggested for group play) or in batches of 5 (basically, a full round.)

Jordan wasn't even sure why he was considering another try at the "Battle Arena." He'd completed it. He didn't need to do it again if he didn't want to. But steady hands and careful judgement were a benefit in any field, and he was bored. Anyway, sharpie came off with rubbing alcohol.

He contemplated the stairs down to the chamber. "Are we really going to do this?" he asked ruefully.

I don't like dealing with the sedative, Ferros replied grumpily.

"Thanks for the vote of confidence in my skills."

Finn was certain he didn't really want to do this. Except that he had been bored, and he had thought to himself, hey, maybe I should do one of those things that when I finish, it might actually make me eligible to receive one of those useful, runic items. It was dangerous to think things like that, because eventually, it meant actually looking into what training exercises there were, and while he had completed one on his own before and tried another that he'd failed completely and miserably, there was one in particular that actually managed to pique his interest.

Battle arena. It sounded exciting, sort of, like some kind of gladiator coliseum event. He had to wonder if it was indeed just like that, and if he might just be pitted against a horde of shadowlings (and ultimately torn apart by them), but then he decided to try not to focus on that aspect of it too much. No, he needed to do this, if only because it was required for one who wanted to be allowed to use runic bandages. He was in moon, defense, yes, but he actually held more of an interest on the first aid side of things, and bandages seemed like a pretty good asset, all things considered.

And so he set out for what was surely going to be his doom. Stead fast. Stony faced. He was ready.

What he wasn't really expecting was to run into somebody else when he got there. One who was...talking to himself? Or you know, probably to his weapon. With ease, a smile was able to quirk up his lips, though it did nothing to warm his one eyed gaze as he approached, boot heels likely giving away his presence long before he spoke.

"Hey. Are you...." He gave the other man a once over, noting his appearance. Full Hunter? It seemed likely. "Going into the arena?" He questioned, halting nearby and taking a glance down the stairs himself. "I was thinking about giving it a go....."

The sound of footsteps alerted Jordan that someone was approaching, and he looked around. A one-eyed Moon whose name he didn't know; Jordan thought he might have seen the guy in passing once or twice, but he hadn't had a reason to talk to him. "Thinking about it," he replied. "Wasn't sure if I wanted to subject myself to it. If you're headed down, though, maybe I'll go. It's a little safer with company."

It was a tossup as to whether a stranger would get happy with a marker, but at least it meant that the bored Life techs wouldn't get unsupervised access if he fell over unconscious. If the Moon was a decent person, he might even agree to a mutual truce.
